Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne have always had a rocky relationship. Sometimes the problem was Bruce never letting her get close enough, other times it was Selina getting to close and double crossing him despite her obvious feelings. What exactly happened? What changed that altered their feelings of distrust and their uncertainty about their love for each other.

 Selina shot through the surrounding shrubs and trees, silent as a shadow, it had taken years of practice but she'd finally gained status as a nefarious cat burglar. The thief no one knew. Well, she had been until Bruce had caught her. Then she was one of those crazy costumed crooks running around Gotham, which she supposed she was. She'd taken a liking to the persona. The Princess of Plunder. . .The Catwoman. She almost laughed at her ego, but that would give away her position quicker then usual. Slipping into the place had been tricky, but Selina liked a challenge. The museums couldn't come up with anything interesting to keep her occupied, it was almost to easy anymore. At least the Cat Cult had traps worthy of her skills. She let a smile slip as she looked down at the golden cat statue clutched in her gloved hand. What a steal, this thing would be worth a fortune. Tucking the statue into her belt nice and tight, Selina sprinted, flipping forward into a handstand and pushing her self upward to great hights. Gaining enough to vault herself over the brick wall and make her way into Gotham's crime littered streets.

Batman patrolled the roof tops. It was a typical night in Gotham for him. The Eastend was busy as usually, that meant he had to especially stay on his toes. By this time he had already stopped several robberies, muggings, and generally any thefts of any kind for that matter. Nothing to big was going on right now, as far as he knew some of Gotham's heavy hitters where locked up, or laying low. It would have been good if things stayed that way, but they didn't so he would keep a look out for anything.

Selina's heartbeat began speeding up as she scaled the wall of an apartment. She half expected the see the Bat Signal reflected in one of the windows but saw nothing. She sucked in a deep breath and heaved herself onto the roof, but didn't take time to pause. She was taking the quickest route home, the world blurring as she ran. She heard her heart pounding in her ears as she lept a gap between to rooftops. Selina was in the East End within no time, or at least thats what it felt like. A smile slid across her lips, it wasn't often she got off scot-free.

He continued his patrol, before taking a rest in one spot in particular. It was as if he was waiting for someone, and he was. It didn't take long for a sneaky little cat to run pass him as if he wasn't there; most because he was not there. Very few people where able to tell when he was near. "What did you take this time... or may I should ask who did you steal from now?" He said while stepping out of the shadow.

Selina knew she should have kept going. Should have kept on running like she hadn't heard or seen him, that would have thrown him off his game. But she couldn't help it, she slid to a stop and whirled on him. "What makes you think I stole this?" she asked, tapping the statue on its head. "Maybe I paid for something for a change."

He looked at her, it was clear by his face that he was not remotely amused by her answer. "Dressed like that.?" He said simple before approaching her. "Hand it over."

Selina smiled and shrugged, "A girl can have a hobby, can't she?" She slowly slid one foot backward, all the while her smile was getting bigger. She pulled the cat stature out of her belt and examined it, tracing the outline of its ears before her eyes looked up at Bruce, "What can I say, I only have a taste for the finest."

Bruce approached her to take the cat statue from her. "Your hobbies only lead to someone trying to kill you. Turn from your life of crime and try to do something more productive. You have so many options out there, that you can do anything you want. So stop this."

At the last second, Selina pulled the cat statue away, holding out of Bruce's reach, raising her other hand to push against his chest. "Oh please," she said, laughing, "Like I haven't heard that speel before." Selina tilted her head, smiling at Bruce playfully. "I have a problem I admit it. I'm a kleptmaniac through and through, but at least when I feel it coming on, I take something for it, not like those crazies you lock up in Arkham.

He narrowed his eyes as he looked at Selina. "Selina.." He said in a stern voice. he knew that she was just trying to by some time and then she would make a run for it. He wasn't going to let that happen.

"Yes Bruce?" she asked, still smiling. The banter was getting old, and she needed to sell this thing fast. The money she could get from this could do a lot of good for the East End. Her eyes didn't move from Bruce's but she knew the rooftops just as well as he did, she knew where she was, and how long it would take for her to get to get home. All she had to do was pick an escape route.

Bruce figure she would try to run; but he wasn't going to let that happen. He knew that her motives where pure, well at least some of the time they where. Pure or not, he could not let her get away. "This stops now." He said to her before throwing a few capsules onto the ground near her feet. Once they hit, ice begun to cover the ground around her.

Selina hissed and sprang backwards, sliding on some of the ice as she did so. She fell but managed to regain her balance fast enough to push off and begin running, pushing the statue into her belt as she did so. She lept off the edge of the roof and instead of going to the next rooftop like it appeared she was, she let herself begin falling down to the streets below. She hit the ground with a grunt, absorbing most of the shock with her knees. Staggering slightly, Selina never the less began running as hard and as fast as she could, through every nook and cranny she knew.

Bruce chased after Selina; but he sayed on the roof tops. Leaping from roof top to roof top, he would look down ever so often to keep her in sight. He wasn't going to lose her this time.
