Kushami was actually living up to her end of the deal. It ended up that she was infact a good huntress which actually sort of surprised Gyongyi a bit. She'd not returned with scavenged meat ever. Some times the kills were a little on the small size and it was a little hard to split between the two leopardesses but all and all she was fine. Gyongyi her self was doing her best to also keep to the agreement. Fresh meat only.
Though, it had been at least two days now since either of the leopardesses had brought back any sort of kill. Keeping up the fresh meat deal was going to prove to be a bit stickier then the two had originally thought.
"Its your turn to go out and fetch some food." Kushami whined at Gyongyi and pleadingly pawed at her light tan pelt.
"I was the last to bring back meat at all. You telling me that I have to go out again?" Gyongyi swiped Kushami's paw away from her self. "You were doing so good. What happened Kushami?"
"I can't control when there's prey you know." Kushami let out a gruff sigh. "Besides, your a better hunter and I'm to hungry to moooooooove."
"So I am the better hunter eh?"
"Yeah you heard it from my mouth. Now chop chop and bring something back. PLEASSSSSSSSSSSEEEEE." Kushami rolled on her back in her normal dramatic way. Gyongyi sighed.
"I'm hungry too you know." There was another sigh.
"The more reason why you should bring something back." Kushami was now whimpering.
"The more... reason ... this is sort of a breach in our agreement you know that..." Gyongyi stretched and turned her back to Kushami, "But I am starving too. I don't know if I'll be back with meat. Might run off."
"You wouldn't run off from me. We're friends~" Kushami gave a weak grin to Gyongyi.
"Friends is a weak term for what we are. Partners in hunting with an agreement is a better description I think."
"Friiiieeeeeeeeeeeends," Kushami restated her point with an even bigger grin. Gyongyi merely rolled her eyes and started off for the tall grass again. "Come on. You know you like me just a bit right? You do. You know you do."
"I'm not admitting anything." Gyongyi sighed. "But I won't be disappearing if that makes you feel a little better."
"It does," Kushami gave the leopardess a serious knod.
"That doesn't make us friends though. Just two leopardesses trapped in some ******** up agreement to hunt for each other," Gyongyi shot a glare back at Kushami. "So don't think were friends. Or you'll be sadly disappointed."
"Okay. I'm bored now and your still here. Hurry up with the hunting already. Chop chop." Kushami grinned even wider.
"I swear to the gods..... " Gyongyi would be rubbing her temples about now if she had hands. Kushami was wearing her patience. Gyongyi was really tempted to just bolt on the blue leopardess and just never come back. It was clear she'd have no problem on her own. Kushami was a good huntress after all and had proven her self. Save this few days of nothing.
"Its not nice to swear to the gods. You might get cursed." Kushami let out a lazy yawn, "Sides swearing to the gods won't get us fed faster." Kushami sat up and gave Gyongyi some pleading eyes.
"Oh but being demanding will get us fed faster..." There was a tiredness to Gyongyi's tone.
"Probably," Kushami nodded a sage nod.
"Now your being ridiculous."
"Maybe I wouldn't be so ridiculous if you'd hurry up and bring something back."
"Maybe I wouldn't have to bring something back if some one did their end of the deal." Gyongyi glared at Kushami. "If you know what I mean princess of the blue pelt."
"I've done my job just fine." Kushami glared back at Gyongyi. "Don't pin this on me. Its obviously your fault. You must have scared the prey away the last time you hunted."
"...That just doesn't even make sense." Gyongyi was growing tired fast of all this back and forth banter. She just wanted to stop but Kushami was making it very hard to just up and stop their dialog.
"It makes total sense," Kushami would have crossed her arms if it was possible for a leopard to do such an action. Unfortunately it was not all that possible.
".." Gyongyi was silent for a few moments before turning her back to Kushami and starting for the tall grass again. According to many pokemon games that was the best place to start looking for wild things. Gyongyi of course had never played those games since she was indeed a leopard and indeed in an era before those games had been invented. Still, it only seemed like the natural place to go to search for food. Her tail was the last thing to disappear in to the tall grass before Kushami was left alone.
Now that Kushami was left alone she was left with the banter from before to chew on. It was true, she was starting to feel a little bad for not upholding her agreement with Gyongyi but at the same time she was baffled how Gyongyi could not see this was definitely all her fault. It was not Kushami's fault in the least as far as the blue leopardess was concerned. Still there was a little tug from her heart that just made her feel guilty. The guilt migrated to her stomach and made her feel all the more bad about everything.
"Its not my fault," She assured her self, or attempted to assure her self. "I'll just have to show her its not my fault next time," Kushami nodded to no one but her self. This inner war ended just like that with the nod. Kushami felt alright yet again. All would be right with the world if Kushami could just go ahead and prove to Gyongyi just how wrong the tan leopardess was. And how right herself, Kushami, was. Everything would be alright. Kushami had faith in her self after all. And a possible huge ego.
