User ImageIt had been three weeks since that fight he had with Katsumi and three weeks since he had seen his kinds. Roy had longed to see his kits, however the fight may as well have happened seconds ago. His blood still boiled over that witch's words. In fact the scowl had not left his face since.

Roy had found temporary residence inside a deep cave near the massive lake (that Roy never could remember the name to). It was an ideal spot for now. Covered by the forest on the left and the lake on the opposite side of that for hunting, water and any other need one might want. Even with the thick cloud cover the scenery was still spectacular. The rain in the distance covering the forest on the horizon with a thick wall of mist and carrying the smell miles from the drenched area. Roy had no doubt the rain would be there by mid-day... a couple of hours. He just had to be sure to get everything done before than, by the smell it was going to be a downpour.

First thing on the list; collect some food for later that day. Rain wasn't dangerous, but a storm wasn't ideal to be caught in. Roy walked along the lake's beach looking for any fish that was within the shallows. As he walked he lost awareness of his surroundings. His mind begun to wander away from reality and back to the Witch's home his Kits were probably trying to teach Katsumi all kinds of weird games, they were so creative. Good trait for a thief. Chizoku and Rion were probably causing trouble together or devising some kind of elaborate plan. Roy's expression softened the more he thought of his kits. He wanted to see them.... 'You don't belong'

"Stupid Witch..." Roy mumbled under his breath as the scowl returned. She was probably telling them how bad he was and turning them all against him.
User Image
As Roy continued to storm down the beach not even sure of what his target was another was busy with the same idea in mind, catching some fish for a decent meal. Raiden was focused on a thin stream that connected to the Lake with unbroken attention. His eye locked on the few fish that were ideal for a good lunch. However, as he was ready to snatch the fish a rather distracted and angry being disrupted the water causing the fish to scatter. Raiden lept backward before the two kitsu collided.

"Hey, watch where you're going." He growled. A little disgruntled over loosing the fish.

Roy paused mid-step, his fur bristled and he looked over his shoulder.
"Bite me." He spat.
It was unfortunate that the last thought interrupted was none to pleasant and the mood carried over.

Raiden's brow furrowed again. "What's your problem?"

"Oh? You gunna tell me I'm not wanted here either? Hmn? This is your spot? You own all of this spot right here right? My apologies sir." Roy spat on the ground. "I seem to be a big inconvenience."

"What are you talking about?"

"Don't play games with me tin-can, I can see it in your eye. Judge me like the rest of 'em. You're probably in with the damn witch huh?" Roy turned around and took a stance. "Ha, yeah, that's probably it. A minion here to make sure I know I'm not wanted...."

"I'm no one's 'minion'." Raiden lowered his head in response to Roy's aggressive stance. "I don't know what your problem is, but I think you should just chill for a moment and think about what you are doing."

Roy laughed. "Scared huh tin-can? Ha ha ha, right, that's just what a minion would say. I could take ya, and than when I've beaten the scrap medal outta ya you can go back to that damn Witch and tell her to leave me alone!"

Roy lunged at Raiden with arms extended only to meet with the soft gravely beach. He whipped around to see Raiden had lept over him and was not taking a stance a few feet behind him. Roy frowned and readied for another leap.

"You're delusional! I've never meet a witch! Just calm down!" Raiden growled. He lept behind the angered kitsu again as he charged a second time. "Knock it off or I will retaliate."

The warning fell to deaf ears and blind eyes. Roy continued to leap at Raiden and he continued to simply leap out of the way hoping the guy would just give up. However, when Roy withdrew his numbchaku Raiden was force to withdraw his own Katana, holding it so the blunted side was exposed.

Both Kitsu stood there with weapon in mouth sizing up each other up. A bolt of lightning stretched across the sky and they lept for each other. Both Kitsu were quick and great at dodging, however Roy was blinded by rage and his own abilities were hindered because of it. He didn't once think of his counter rune. All he could think of was Katsumi's words and how she had likely already turned his kits against him. Raiden on the other hand was focused and level headed. He managed to strike Roy just barely with almost every pass.

((Because Ice has a lot to read... I'll sum the battle up... LoL ))

Their battle took them further into the forest as each opponent lept in and out of the trees trying to get the upperhand. Another strike of lightning flashed across the sky and ten minutes after the quarrel had started it was over. Raiden brought the pummel of his katana down hard on the back of Roy's skull as Roy swung and missed with his numbchaku. Roy fell to the ground motionless.

Raiden sheathed his weapon. "You'll be fine... save for the headache..."
And with that Raiden left the unconscious Roy.

As expected the rains came around mid-day and they cam hard and Roy remained passed out on the muddy forest floor beaten and bruised.

User ImageKatsumi sighed walking through the woods in the pouring rain, she didn't even know why she was out here right now. Was there even a reason? her ears were lower, it had been three weeks since Roy left and Katsumi was running out of things to tell the kits about his absence, little Chiz already knew the reason he had left, but didn't understand it quite yet. It terrified her to know she would come to understand and soon they were getting so big. Katsumi didn't want to explain it to them not yet.

She left them with Vynn to torment her with their games and tricks, The thought brought a smile to her face remembering how much she bugged her sister, they would be as much of a handful as she was, especially Chiz and Rion. Katsumi looked up the sky was still grey but the weather seemed to lighten a bit for a time as Kat walked. Kits would be learning magic soon, came the thought to her. She'd have to take them and get their wands, they would have more to work with then. The kits seemed well rounded, clever, creative and talented she couldn't have been prouder.

Katsumi growled for a moment pinning her ears against her skull. She had never felt the same in her own family, Roy just had to remind her about it, she'd tried for a long time to forget about it, but it still bothered her a lot even though she hid it well, at least she thought she did. She shook the water off of her since the sky had stopped pouring.

She continued walking though her kimono felt like some sort of heavy weighted garment thanks to the water. Katsumi glanced around, where was she now? She ventured well off course to her original destination to gather some potion ingredients. Her tails flicked back and forth slowing down only to trip and fall into the mud. Something round had caught her foot. She fumed, her kimono had been ruined. Wand slipped out of her kimono and stuck in the mud.

Damnit.

Storming over to her wand she picked it up out of the mud waving it around and her kimono became suddenly clean as she whispered the latin words.

Who in their right mind would leave something lying in the woods. She flicked her ears she hadn't even looked to see what she tripped on. At first she thought it was some sort of root, reaching out caused the mud to shift revealing the bright red underneath. She'd seen this only a few times, but she knew whom it belonged to. It was Roy's numbchaku, why would it be out here? Serves him right she glared at it in place of it's owner.

Katsumi looked further up the forest path Rain washing away any sign of the fighting kitsu save for one. The weapon seemed to have slid down away from it's owner. Katsumi rushed over instinctively after balancing the weapon in her kimono belt. Not that she cared about him, she told herself he looked pretty bad, curse her families morality, she sighed and hoped he stayed unconscious for a while. She couldn't leave him here, not like this. Katsumi looked around for a shelter before magically transporting Roy and herself to a cave and started treating his bruises and wounds.

She didn't really care though she continued to repeat to herself within her mind.

Roy remained still even hours after Katsumi had found him. His mind had taken him back to the Sun Rune War and many of the darker struggles from that time. The scenes moved so quickly in his mind events blurred and seemed more surreal.

His nose scrunched before his eyes slowly flickered open. At first all he could see were dark shapes dancing about in front of him. He tried to lift his head and found out it did not wish to cooperate with the rest of his body. In addition it felt as if someone had smashed a rock against his skull and his brain was trying to retaliate.

"Damn....it..." he groaned as he unsuccessfully tried to move again.

Despite best efforts he could not recall anything that would give clue as to what had happened.

"Who's... there...?" Roy's eyes still could not adjust to anything aside blurred shapes and colors.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 20, 2012 6:32 pm

Katsumi ears twitched when Roy started to stir, without a doubt he's up and yell at her again. She wasn't finished yet, she had a few more to go. She didn't say anything for a while until she was sure he could see her. her Tails swished back and forth. Funny thing was the telltale bump on his head make Katsumi think he wouldn't remember any of it. Similarly to the night he had been completely drunk.

"Got your a** kicked did you?" she said bluntly knotting the last bandage instinctively she tightened it a bit too much pinching him now that he was awake. She was still angry at him. She stood after finishing Roy's weapon was still in her kimono belt. At least she had something to tell the kits now that wouldn't completely destroy their faith in their parents.

The witch moved toward the cave entrance to gaze outside the clouds still hovered and the ran began falling once more as heavy as before. She could go places but, she glanced at Roy, didn't look like he could go anywhere for a while. Would it be her fault if he ended up eaten by wild dogs? Probably. it was his fault for getting beaten up so badly.

Roy growled and grunted as the bandage pinched his skin. He winced as he twitched from the sharp pain. Before the words 'be careful' could leave his lips she left a comment about the obvious. His mouth hung ajar for a moment than slowly closed again.

"That....salittle... obvious..." He growled. "You didn't answer... my question, who... are you?"

His golden eyes locked on Katsumi as the blurs and colors turned into more recognizable objects. He continued to stare at her despite not being able to turn his head. She was vaguely familiar. Like something that was pricking at the back of his mind about this one in particular.

"And... what are you doing with Sun..." He added after spotting the Numbchaku in her belt.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 20, 2012 7:32 pm

"Hit you that hard did he or she for that matter?" she said with a little laugh still watching the rain fall. Looked like it was taking him a while to focus, the fact that he hadn't yelled at her yet was a hint. It was strange to have him stare at her for as long as he was. She simply continued to wait for the realization.

He'd never called it that before when she was around at least when he was awake, Katsumi chuckled quietly to herself seemingly out of character the nickname of the weapon was rather cute "What am I doing with you're Numbchaku?" she repeated his question switching her usual done "Well for starters you left it lying on the ground, unwillingly." she refrained from mentioning the fact she tripped on it and landed in the mud. He certainly didn't need to know a minor detail like that in particular. She pat Sun a few times for good measure. "Would you have rather I left it?" she asked him

"As for me, you already know who I am," sitting on her haunches she looked back at him feeling a bit guilty, she didn't think he'd end up so hurt. She figured he was smarter than that, guess not. Not that she'd ever let him forget, she'd make the kits remember too. A little revenge on her part. "I guess you would know me best as a nightmare..." she finished curling her tails around herself to keep her warm the rain coming down cold. katsumi's breath coming out in a cloud.

Roy continued to look at Katsumi trying to figure out where he had seen her and what she had ever been to him, if anything. The way she said should have already known her, it seemed important. It was slightly frustrating to not be able to put a pin in it. The emotion that kept surfacing was attachment, though in a weird way. It also seemed to come with some sense of tension. Again, nothing he could pin-point.

"You'd think... I'd remember a pretty mug like that..." Roy grunted than closed his eyes. He relaxed a little feeling more at ease with his company. "heh... nightmare huh?... Ain't you a peach..."

Roy took a deep breath.

"And no... I wouldn't... that metal b*****d musta... tried to take it..." He trailed off toward the end of the sentence. Roy vaguely remembered a flash of metal. At least that's what made sense.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 20, 2012 9:24 pm

b*****d was probably acting to get her off guard and it was working admittedly. It really did unnerve her and she was having a hard time hiding it for some reason this time.

"Stop that," She glanced quickly back outside at the rain pretending it was more interesting. She suddenly couldn't stay angry at him despite what he had said three weeks before. Why? How come? Katsumi had to use most of her self control to keep herself calm. It really was unsettling and strange. It felt.. she couldn't quite pinpoint it either. "You don't really like me anyway..." She muttered under her breath, the thought of hitting him herself came to mind.

her ears pricked up as he tried to recall "Metal?" she questioned that would explain the a few things. But whoever it was it surprised her they could keep up with the ever active Roy. Guy was gone in a flash after their argument. She glance back at Roy, why was he still staring at her?

"Well it's safe here." she added not really sure what to say.

Roy didn't respond to the first comment. He started to nod off until she muttered. An eyelid lifted just slightly.

"heh, I'd be the judge of that... toots..." He sighed and closed his eye again. "You're... alright ta me... from the start..."

Once again his words begun to to trail off as his mind begun to wander and his body completely relaxed. His tails twitched. Despite the peaceful look on his face his dreams had taken him to a completely different and dark place.

Two dark forms going at each others throats viciously not letting anyone get the upperhand. There was no mercy in their eyes.

As the two shadowed figures were fighting a silvery figure lept one of the shadows from behind and begun to beat it into dust before vanishing. The other shadowed figure stood victoriously over the pile of dust before walking away slowly only to return moments later with a watering can. The shadowy figure sat down by the pile of dust and begun to water it until it took shape once again.

Roy stirred again, but did not open his eyes.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 20, 2012 10:55 pm

Katsumi watched as he started nodding off, he seemed more peaceful now than he had previously. it still bugged her, was it her fault he got hurt in the first place? if he had stayed with them he wouldn't have gone looking for a fight. Her ears pinned back to her skull. He was being strange because of the big lump on his head. She told herself, he didn't mean any of it.

"Tell me that when your in your right mind." she replied continuing to watch the downpour. She listened to his breathing to make sure he was sleeping before looking back over at him.

"You know you're not half bad yourself." she said hoping he wouldn't hear. she'd never live that down. Not for a long time. A smile though brief graced her features as she began humming quietly to herself. Occasionally glance at Roy to make sure if he was still sleeping, though she caught herself wondering about what he was dreaming about.

A long string of lightning cut across the sky casting hectic shadows throughout the forest. Seconds later a loud boom shook the trees and rattled pebbles.
Roy's eyes shot open. Every muscle in his body tensed causing his bruises to ache once again. His head promptly reminded him that it was still throbbing and in pain. Roy winced and, with some effort, rubbed the nasty lump on the back of his head.

Night had already cast its shadow over the world leaving the outside of the cave dark aside from the flashes of lightning from time to time. Rain still poured from the heavens as if a lake above had decided to return to the earth.

Roy lifted his chin from the ground than proceeded to try and sit up. He grunted as his entire body protested. With all the excitement he had failed to notice if Katsumi was still in the room.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 20, 2012 11:59 pm

She hadn't gone far, just outside the cave Katsumi watched the lightning streak through the sky, feeling the hearing movement behind her, must be fully awake now after that. Katsumi didn't move from her spot or turn this time to check on him.

She waited for him to gather his bearings before she spoke re entering the cave and turning back to watch the storm soaking wet again. Her tails resting comfortably back around her paws "How's your head?" she asked without looking behind her at him. She was still a little unsettled with what had happened moments before. Her voice would seem softer perhaps if he was awake enough to notice.

By the time Katsumi had re-entered the cave Roy had already managed to sit back on his haunches and brace his aching body against the wall. He had been looking over the bandages when she entered. That second rest was all he needed to remember.

Roy's brows furrowed as he remembered more than just the fight with the metal kitsu, or really just the beginning of it. The middle and ending were still very very hazy. But he remembered -their- fight. The words exchanged. Than he begun to remember the mumbled words he had spoken a few hours ago before having that bizarre dream. The flesh beneath his fur blushed a little for a moment.

*ahem* He cleared his throat than pushed himself from the wall. It was more of an effort to limp to her side than it was to stand up. Thankfully the effort had removed any sign of blush from his cheeks.

"Feels like a big ol'mountain fell on it..." Me managed to speak a little weakly. The softer tone was noted and left him more worried than confused. It was strange to hear it in the right state of mind. Which brought up the question, why was she out looking for someone who wasn't wanted? "A little far from home aint'cha?"
PostPosted: Wed Mar 21, 2012 12:43 am

Katsumi was avoiding looking at the other kitsu, but it made her feel better he was acting more like himself now than before, it helped keep herself calmer, though she had at least an hour to deal with while Roy was just starting to recall, his rather delirious state his rather red face wasn't lost on her but this time she didn't comment.

"You still look pretty bad." She couldn't help but laugh, though she was glad he came and sat beside her "I came to get a potion ingredient, found you instead." she answered, no she'd managed to wander off path somehow. it seemed to be a good thing she had, else he would have ended up alone which katsumi felt would have made things worse.

Her words were partly true at least.

Roy sat next to Katsumi, but was unable to hold a posture quite as dignified as her's. His head hung blow his shoulders and his ears had barely lifted. Like Katsumi he looked out at the torrential downpour instead.

"Yeah... well.. ya-" He cut himself off before he insulted her own looks. It didn't feel right, even if she was laughing at him. Roy quickly thought of a cover up to finish the sentence. "-ya shoulda... seen the guy. Musta... caught me off guard is all."

So it was by chance that she just happened upon wherever he had blacked out, which he was still unsure of where that was. He'd probably have been in worse shape with how the rain is coming down. Buried in mud, or worse.

"...The little squirts... they okay?" He inquired after a moment. It was an honest question, and a distraction from what he knew he needed to do. Something his ego fought against.
