Canyon Field: The canyon walls towers high towards the ceiling while the ground sinks downwards several levels, making the top and bottom of the field very difficult to see without special equipment. The cliff faces are very steep with little ridge support for grabbing and climbing; on top of that, the rock faces are very damp which makes grabbing and holding on very difficult. A few skinny trees and roots jut out from the cliff and allow smaller, nimbler pokemon to grab and swing around. At the very bottom of the canyon’s long drop is a deep pool of water. Keeping up is difficult for trainers on this particular battlefield, so stadium officials have set up a special view screen on each of the trainer platforms. A mini camera will follow your pokemon around while it battles (of course, it’s programmed to back off when a pokemon does an attack) and the view screen will enable trainers to issue commands to their companions via microphone. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to FLYING and ROCK type attacks.

"Oh boy, he's gonna have a ball," Sienna whistled upon seeing the field. They lucked out and got the field most suited for her type of pokemon.

The trainer tossed a safari ball into the air; a Pidgeot appeared in a flash of red. He circled above the rocky crevices. "Splendid," He grinned, surveying the battlefield.

"You got this one all on your own again, go get 'em," Sienna encouraged. She took the viewing screen and poked a few buttons so she could say hello to the other trainer. "Hey way over there! Happy to be battling you, I'm Sienna, and Frey is my Pidgeot. Good luck, and thanks in advance for the battle!"

 

[Nanashi Kage Enjeru]

"I'm Shina, nice to meet you! Your opponent today is Annabell!" Shina called as she released her Furret. The slender pokemon immediately disappeared into one of the cliff-side crevices.

"Awesome! Have fun, Frey"

The Pidgeot rolled his eyes at his trainer's cheerful demeanor. So annoying some times. He was kind of looking forward to being back on this field though.

Frey circled in one of the wider crevices, waiting for his opponent to make the first move.

From within one of the crevices, an evil giggle echoed, along with a buzzing sound. Annabell happily absorbed her own energy, boosting her attack.

The bird's hackles rose as he heard the cackle. Better ready myself...Frey's feathery body became coated in a metalic shine as he raised his defense with Steel Wing.

Annabell collected energy again, but instead of absorbing it herself, launched it at the other pokemon.

Zap! Frey wobbled a little after he was hit with the electric attack. Now he knew where his sneaky opponent was for sure. He glided toward the rocky exterior of the field, wings as sharp as steel and ready to do some damage.

Annabell hissed as the sharp edge of the wing carved a shallow furrow in her side. Then she sucked in a breath and blasted it out as a beam of ice.

Frey shrieked as he was blasted with the icy beam, but managed to shake it off. His beak chattered, he couldn't stand the cold! He dove at the epicenter of the attack with an Aerial Ace.

Annabell rolled with the attack, losing some fur, but nothing too bad. She chittered at the flying pokemon, then lashed out with shadowy claws.

Frey shook more frost from his feathers and clicked his beak at the other pokemon, gaining altitude quickly. Whatever attack she fired, it sailed under him.

He swooped down, sending sharp gusts of air in her direction.

Frey climbed quickly into the air once more, and at the same time luckily dodging the Ice Beam.
