Sailor Virtus' run of good luck had been tapped, he imagined, but he wasn't worried about it. He came out tonight just like every other night, and he would continue to do so because that was his job.
Tonight he was in the park, patrolling around the big bushes and the play ground structures. He had learned that once the night set and most of the cars were gone from the streets, homeless people snuck out to find something close to a comfortable place to sleep for the night.
It was kind of a sad existence, really, and Virtus wished he could do something to make it better. He told himself he was giving them a good night of sleep, which they needed, but there had to be more than that?
He wouldn't over think it for now. A good idea for kindness would come to him in time. That was who he was, after all.
Sailor Virtus, the Senshi of Kindness. Maybe when he was powered up and on patrol, like now, he would have an easier job of it. Maybe being powered up made him more kind. He wasn't exactly sure how spheres worked, but he did know his powers could help people.
If they were hurt, anyway.

Hygiea felt a little guilty powering up without any of her teammates around, it wasn't like she had been or was even going on patrol though so perhaps it could be counted. But it did seem like a little bit more on the abuse of power.
Ridley had been late coming home, working on a school project at a classmate's house - someone she had never worked with before so it was terribly exciting. The hours passed before she knew it, and several worried text messages from her mother later she was rushing home as quickly as she could.
Then there was that cat she had encountered on her way home that just needed a few minutes of her time before she could continue her journey.
Powering up seemed the best choice to make up on time, as a Sailor Senshi she could run faster and not get as tired. It made sense, ********* and Iris would totally understand, right? It wasn't like she was fighting anyone. Well, not yet anyways, she would soon realize.
The little Super senshi was passing one of the many parks that were on her route home only to feel an odd sensation in the back of her head. Still getting used to finally sensing these auras, she slowed down and concentrated to where the weird vibes were coming from. It felt wrong... and bad and not something she probably wouldn't want to encounter. A youma maybe? She only knew how one of those felt for a brief moment until it was defeated so, as the saying went with her favorite animal... Hygiea got curious and walked towards the source.
Calling forth her orange phone, she sent out a mass text to her teammates, alerting them to the situation before she pressed forth. Well, pressed forth as in barreled towards the bad energy as it got steadily a little stronger the closer she got.

Virtus felt an energy coming toward him quickly and got tense. He was hoping to avoid any fights, but he knew that wasn't possible now. After his most recent butt kicking, he knew he couldn't just smile and bounce around on rainbows forever. As much as he would like to.
He didn't want to get hurt that way again.
He tensed and stood his ground, watching ahead of him and spotting the source of the energy as it ran up. He blinked in surprise.
"You're a little kid!" He heard himself say, his thoughts just slipping out. He hadn't fought a chibi senshi before, and he was surprised that people could be so small and still be powered up. Did everyone have younger people on their teams? Negaverse? Chaos? he'd never seen one, and he hoped they didn't.
He didn't like the idea of it, already.
"You should go home, it's not safe out here!" it might have been a threat, coming from a bad guy like him, except he actually meant it.

This wasn't like the time she had gotten confused with Niflhel, the look of this boy was clearly senshi like but he gave off such a bad feeling. Like the youma. Her orange eyes narrowed, glad she hadn't called away her phone just yet. There was a way to see if this guy was really a senshi, even though he kind of looked like one.
The little senshi of herbs held up the phone towards Virtus and clicked.
And clicked it again.
Her glare increased as all that appeared on the screen was an error message. Hygiea's heated gaze raised up to the apposing senshi as she dismissed her phone to subspace, her lips pushing together. Was this guy like the ones she had heard appeared in the Surrounding or like that girl with the big bug?
And Virtus' comment didn't help. Did everyone have to make it? "Well, you're just wrong!" She shot back, not making any specifics to how exactly he was. Wrong for his statement and wrong feeling. Sailor Hygiea slowly got herself in a defensive stance, this was a bad guy... she was getting ready to fight.

Chibi senshi confused him. He thought maybe they were a fluke, like there was just one who had happened to awaken too early, but that was not the case.
There were a few of them. Maybe even a lot of them. How could that be?
He watched her as she used her phone for... something? He wasn't quite sure. He had never seen a phone before, not in use by a senshi anyway. Obviously he knew what phones were, he had his own cell phone, but when he powered up it went away. Why did she get to keep hers?
He was getting distracted here.
"Wrong?" He frowned. No, he was pretty sure he had that all right. She was a kid, and she was alone. And it was dangerous out. He was out, after all, and apparently he was dangerous. Wasn't that proof enough? Not that he, Virtus, would do anything to hurt her unless she proved herself to be as violent as Ate had been. And even then, hitting kids...
it seemed just past his limits.
"Look, I don't want to fight you, little girl. I'm just doing my job, and I'm not going to hurt anyone. Okay?" He smiled at her, hoping that would soothe her temper with him.

Why was he smiling at her? Was this a trick? The idea that he could possibly be like HugBell's Negaverse friend did cross her mind, but now that could feel his soft aura it didn't bring her any comfort in the idea really. And the dark senshi didn't have anyone to vouch for him like Schee.
Hygiea didn't drop her guard, just like ********* had instructed her during their little battle. Be mindful of your surroundings and expect anything. "Yeah right, that's what the bad guy always says." She had seen enough movies to know better, "they say they're not doing anything bad but then they double cross you at the last minute and stuff. But you can't trick me, 'cause you totally feel like the youma did.. bad and wrong."

Virtus couldn't help but smiled.
She had a point there. The bad guys did always try and say they weren't just that. But he supposed he couldn't expect her to believe him out of all the other baddies out there. He was sure she had a very good reason for keeping herself on her toes.
It was admirable, in one so young, but also worrying. How early did White Moon senshi start training, anyway?
Because he was 22, and just starting out. He felt like he was a little out of his depth because of it. What if they all started out when they were young like this?! That made them all a thousand times more experienced than he was, and that was a staggering thought. But that was okay, he would just have to work harder!
All he could do was his best, and he would strive for that every day.
"Well, that's the chaos you're feeling. So yeah, I guess I am a bad guy! But I'm not a bad guy, and I don't want to hurt you. You're just a kid!" he shook his head and moved a little closer, tilting his head. He offered her his hand in a sign of peace, like one might do with a timid dog. Sometimes he got a little mixed up.

Chaos. Hygiea's eyes narrowed as the word came out of the blonde's mouth. She knew was it was, but she had only heard it out right only a few times. And one instance was to describe a cat.
********* had explained that senshi, like Dahlia, were often taken by Chaos or even joined willingly. The little senshi wondered for a brief moment which was the case here, either way was bad enough so perhaps she didn't care deep down. Virtus was on the wrong side and he was coming closer towards her, making her step back with each step he was advancing towards her.
Hygiea wasn't going to trust him as easily she would with Dahlia, he wasn't a cat. He was a human like she was, only twisted and warped. "Who the hell cares if I'm a little kid," she growled at him, "at least I'm not stupid enough to join with the Chaos side."
Urg, he was getting her stuck in the whole talking thing! Hygiea wrinkled her nose, realizing what was happening, reached out and slapped his offered hand away. "Stop it!"

Virtus was probably going to need to learn how to not blab so much. He was trying so hard to be friendly to everyone and learn about them, and try to do his job without stepping on their toes, but that was almost impossible. Considering it was the White Moon's job to stop them, and their job not to be stopped, it seemed counter intuitive to try and compromise.
But there was always a way!
For Virtus, Chaos was natural. He had been awakened into it, and did not consider himself corrupted or someone who traded sides. No, he was a natural member of the team, always destined for it.
He looked surprised.
"Your language!" She was a young lady! There was no reason for her to be talking like that. Heavens. He shook his hand, though her swatting it hadn't really hurt. He took it in stride, offering her a smile. "Stop what? I'm sorry! Am I keeping you from something? Maybe you should get back to it, I really don't mean to get in the way of your plans..."

As he looked surprised, there was more irritation in her own expression. "Who the ******** cares about my language." She spat back at him, her little eyebrows pushing together into heated glare.
"Stop smiling," Hygiea yelled at him with a growl, "stop trying to be nice, stop trying to butter me up!" She took a small step back and brought her arms in close to her body before she pushed herself off and barreled towards him, "you're a stupid bad guy who stupidly went to the bad side!" Her little arms extended out in a fluid motion, aiming for his chest with the intent to knock him down.

Virtus was shocked: just shocked.
He forced the smile from his face, though, not wanting to anger her more. After all, smiles weren't supposed to piss people off. He watched her in wonder, tilting his head as he considered her words, which were shocking. Why did everyone get mad when he was polite?
Maybe he should work on a different tactic.
And then she was running at him. He felt her connect because he didn't have the instincts to block, and he fell over as she threw him off balance. he hit the ground. He stared up at the sky for a long moment, then tried to scramble to his feet.
"I don't want to hurt you!" he said, an instinct finally kicking in. He would have to at least push her a little if he wanted to get away from her, though he wasn't sure why she was so mad. She was just a little senshi, so clearly she was told to stop him when he was doing his job. That was sad, but it was required that he, in turn, not let her stop him.
So here they were.

If she had to explain where this was all coming from, Hygiea really wouldn't be able to answer. This guy was just making her so angry, being so nice. Perhaps it was just the confusion of it all, bad guys were supposed to be mean and attack without notice and here he was trying to talk to her in a civilized manner. Like they always did, there was always so much talking. But then that always got followed by fighting, because they got their guard down - it happened in the movies and how many fights had she been in now? So, she was going to make the first move and even that surprised her. He was bigger than her and he went down, hard as the saying went and to keep herself from joining him she flailed like crazy and widened out her footing to keep herself from falling. With a little bit of success and effort she managed, just as he was himself getting up. "That's what they always say!" She repeated herself for the umpteenth time, her voice still filled with anger. The two were still close, and unsure of what he was going to do, she took a step back and held her arms up in defense. Should she make another move? She wasn't sure and given how her brain usually operated, she wasn't going to be making very calculated decisions. She did have her plush doll though.

It was not the first time Virtus confused people, his behavior out of the ordinary for someone meant to be working for chaos. Classically seen as the bad guys, though he didn't see it that way. And many of them did not see themselves in such light. They were just trying to make the world better, their lives better, and go home. Was any of that really wrong?
Virtus didn't think so.
Virtus felt like he was making things worse, seeing how upset she was. He should let it go, let her go, so they could both go home and be okay. He hated making kids upset and he didn't really understand what he was doing to make her so mad.
"Okay, uhm. I'm... I've got to... I think I should go," he was trying to come up with an excuse to leave, but it just wasn't in him. Yes, he was letting himself and his team down by backing out, but he just couldn't stand this encounter. He didn't deal with being upset very well. He smiled brightly instead. "Maybe we'll meet under better circumstances, and you'll understand then!"

Now he was going to retreat? "Is this a trick or something?" The little girl asked him, confusion ringing in with her anger. "Bad guys never retreat!" Even as her brows pushed together, not totally understanding what was going on, she still held her ground with her arms up ready for a surprise attack. She wasn't liking this guy, not at all. He was so weird. "What's there to understand even? You're a bad guy... you hurt people... duh." Confusing and maybe a little dumb? She wasn't sure, the guy seemed to have his facts wrong anyways. And it was super annoying! Hygiea pushed her lips together as she took a hesitant step forward, gauging what the bad senshi would do.

"No, I would never trick you!" And that was the truth, without a hint of sarcasm or mockery in the vicinity. He was just not that king of guy, though he would be very good at being really cruel if he didn't actually mean all the things he said.
And he did. It was not clear if Virtus even knew how to lie, or even what one was. He generally believed everything other people told him, too, so lies were just beyond him.
He'd learn in time, but he had not so far.
When she stepped forward, he stepped back. The poor little senshi had everything wrong, and the white moon had clearly brainwashed her when she was young so they could have a more loyal soldier. That seemed so mean! They needed to see that there was good in the Dark Mirror and that they could all be friends if they would just let it happen.
But he felt it was better to just leave the girl instead of trying to push her further. She looked really upset.
