Roll a Nine: Seashore Field: Split down the middle between land and sea, this field compliments land and water type pokemon. On the west end of the field is the land section: fine grained sand gradually slopes downward to meet the salt water on the east end of the battleground. A single palm tree wavers lightly in the breeze while shells are scattered in random places in and on the sand. In the water half of the battleground, the water laps at the sand much like at a real beach; when it retracts it leaves behind strands of seaweed and pieces of coral. Both are found under the water, offering shelter for water-types (or those who can hold their breath for great periods of times). This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GROUND and WATER type attacks.

Shina took a deep breath of the salty sea air as she walked into the stadium. This was one of the more pleasant fields to work with. "Tenka, go!" The flying squirrel soared out over the water and seashore, examining the lay of the land beneath him.

Running a gloved hand through the length of her flowing ponytail the redhead pressed on into the stadium feeling the weight of the world lingering on her shoulders. She just hadn't had any luck with being a trainer, she was beginning to doubt that she should even have a license to own pokemon. Allowing herself a small sigh River uplifted her line of vision as the salty brine of the water hit her senses, snatching one of the three pokeballs at her hip the slender ex-dancer brought the capture device up and pressed the release button.
"Snuffles, surfs up. It's show time."

For a moment River didn’t seem to notice that the other trainer was none other than Shina, however it honestly didn’t matter whom she was up against, her battle strategies almost never seemed to work, she was simply too unfamiliar with the other types of pokemon of the region. Uplifting her cold eyes towards her opponent the boyish youth frowned deeply.
“Oh. Um. Hey,” shifting nervously River brought her hand out in front of her and called out towards the blue headed psyduck. “Snuffles, lets heat things up. SCALD!”

Tenka was blasted out of the sky by the blast of hot water. "Gagagagaga!" he chittered angrily at the bird. Let's see how much the bird liked getting something spit at it! Tenka shot a blob of Toxic at the Psyduck.

River stood on the tips of her toes as Snuffles waddled to the left then stared up at the flying fuzzball giving it an expression that simply read as 'really?' letting out a breathy sigh the masculine blue and yellow water-type cantered her head to the side almost grinning.
"Good going! See how it likes a bit of mud in the face! Use Dig!"

Snuffles blinked a bit with a touch of confusion written on her handsome face, why didn't that work? Had she misheard her owner? Waddling backwards the blue-headed duck found herself taking the full force of the next attack that the little emolga assaulted her with.
River meanwhile rammed her open palm into her face then seethed with a bit of anger at her own choice in tactics. "Snuffles, Ice Beam!"
That would work against it... right? She wasn't sure anymore, she felt her vision swim for a moment and the ground underneath her legs rock.

"That wasn't very nice Shina." River stated in a flat tone that was without inflection and seemed rather displeased. Squawking loudly Snuffles dove into the salt water that was a new few steps away. Splashing with annoyance the little water-type narrowed her big blue eyes towards the flying type as she used Refresh and rid herself of the nasty poison.

She had been waiting for that to happen but truly didn't expect it to be when Snuffles was completely submerged in water. Damn her luck! The audible sizzle and pop that erupted from the waves of foaming greenish blue where quickly replaced by frantic quacks and erratic splashing.

"Eeeeh! You're sooooooo mean Shina!" River exclaimed in a tight, high pitched voice. The horrible sound of pain that escaped from Snuffles caused the redheaded trainer to look away. "Ice Beam again! Try to freeze it to buy us some time!"
