ℜyoko ℑoshuya In the light of the sun Is there anyone? Oh, it has begun Oh dear, you look so lost Your eyes are red, the tears are shed This world you must have crossed, you said You don't know me And you don't even care, oh yeah And you said, you don't know me And you don't wear my chains, oh yeah ►◄►◄►◄►◄►◄►◄►◄►◄►◄►◄ Ryoko stood on the edge of a bridge that bridged the gap between two roads, allowing cars to get over the large river below with ease. She stood on the other side of the railing, her heels on her shoes still on the cement, the tips of them weren't. She was holding onto the railing, getting ready to jump.
She hated it here. She was new to the school and had already gotten picked on for the first week, no one showing her any kindness whatsoever. Her family wasn't much better. A new deep cut on her arm had a bandage over it and the fresh bruise under her left eye was a lovely purple color. She stared at the curdling blue water below her as her hands released the railing and she leaned forward slowly, ready for deaths sweet embrace. ►◄►◄►◄►◄►◄►◄►◄►◄►◄►◄ Essential yet appealed You carry all your thoughts across an open field Where flowers gaze at you They're not the only ones who cry when they see you You said you don't know me And you don't even care, oh yeah Well you said you don't know me And you don't wear my chains, oh yeah

ᶊorath Ƈhisuga "I'll be by your side when your sleeping late at night, I'll take away your tears and your pain. Someday we'll find a way, Under the sun on a brighter day, To be together across the far plane." Sorath had just left a friends' house, having just gone through a long but enjoyable study session with a group of friends for an upcoming test. To say that he was particularly worried about it though would be far from correct, his grades, whilst not perfect, were often quite good even when he had no choice but to improvise or wing it in tests and assessments. Looking to the sky as he walked, he let out a happy sigh. "A little cloudy, but enough sun to stay warm...my kind of day." He thought as he continued his path towards home. Whilst he was in no rush to be there, he was quite eager to see how his baby sister was going, it wouldn't be long before she'd be taking her first few steps.
Not losing any momentum, Sor eventually reached the bridge, he was suprised that there was little traffic at this time going across, perhaps he had beaten rush hour this time, or maybe it had already passed. This contemplation, however, was cut rather short when something was caught in the corner of his eye, off on the other side of the bridge. As he turned, Sorath blinked momentarily as he titled his head. From his point of view, it was most obviously a girl with long black hair, but he could only really see her from behind. It was then, as he studied her with quick curiosity, that he realised that she wasn't holding on to anything, his eyes widened, suddenly aware of what might be happening. "H-hey!" He called out, not even thinking as he ran across the road towards her."No fiend of any shape or size, Will I allow to terrorize. You know I've got the strength to win the fight, Just count on me to make everything right. I am your guardian."

She cursed the person in her head and her hands instantly grabbed the railing as she hung there for a moment. She stood straight again and turned her head to look at a boy with her teal eyes. Is he yelling at me...? She asked herself then the thought left. Who'd bother? She faced the water again and let go of the railing and started to fall forward once again.
Now that she thought about it, the boy looked familiar. As she slowly started falling forward to the water she went back into her memory. Where have I seen him? She thought, small flash backs from the past week went through her head until they stopped. She remembered seeing the boy in the hallway one day in the morning. She was being picked on but he walked by with a group of people who didn't even notice her. It wasn't a surprise that most people didn't know she was alive. It was like she had the power of invisibility when it came to everyone but the bullies and her family.

Someday we'll find a way, Under the sun on a brighter day, To be together across the far plane." For a brief moment, as the girl turned around to face him, Sorath had thought she might've stopped what she was doing. For a moment, he wasn't sure if he recognised her or not, there were so many people in the area that it was hard trying to push every single name and face into his memory. As he came closer, however, he was proven so very wrong as she turned back to the edge of the bridge and let go once more. Gasping as he picked up the pace, Sorath was at the railing by the time she was about to leave the bridge completely. Without a second thought he extended his hand out, reaching as far forwards as he could without going over himself. Time seemed to slow down, every second more akin to a minute. How long had they been there like that? Sorath didn't know, but by the time everything went back to normal, his hand was firmly clasped around the girl's wrist. Sorath let out a breath of relief, but kept his gaze on her.
He wasn't sure what to say. Telling her that the fall would've killed her seemed redundant, asking if she was insane wouldn't help the situation either, it wasn't every day you stop a suicide jumper mere seconds before it was too late. Instead, he pulled her back towards the bridge, making sure not to let go until she responded to the action. In the short amount of time that passed, he couldn't help but notice two things. One, that she seemed like she was the same age as him, maybe even a little younger. Two, the distinct purple of a bruise lining the bottom of the girl's eye, what was going on here?"No fiend of any shape or size, Will I allow to terrorize. You know I've got the strength to win the fight, Just count on me to make everything right. I am your guardian."

She blinked and froze. She didn't think it was the boy that was saving her but rather her brother or her mother, god forbid it be her father. When she was pulled back to the bridge she turned and looked at the boy, surprise clearly written across her face.
"W-Why did you stop me...?" Ryoko stuttered in a very velvety soft and silky smooth voice. No one would have stopped her. No one seemed like they had any intention to jump out of their cars, run over and grab her, so why would this boy bother to do what no one else was going to? She then noticed her was staring at her eye with the bruise under it. She just waited for the questions then for him not to believe her and walk off like everyone else. For some reason no one ever took her seriously.

Someday we'll find a way, Under the sun on a brighter day, To be together across the far plane." Sorath wasn't sure what to expect when she spoke, uncertain as to whether or not she'd actually say something or scold him for stopping her, but when she asked why he did what he did...his mind was completely blank. As sort of a habit when he was unsure or a little embarassed about something, Sor raised his free hand and rubbed the back of his head. He couldn't just make assumptions and say that cliche 'you have so much to live for' line, he knew not of what she had to live for if anything at all. "Because...it felt like the right thing to do." He admitted, lost for any other real reason, he mostly did everything here on impulse. With that question answered, another arose in his mind: what next? He bit his lip lightly as his focus went to his hand, still lightly wrapped around her wrist. He was, in all honesty, a little hesitant to let go in case she tried to jump again, but he did so slowly in case it got a little awkward. He felt like just leaving it at that and continuing on his way would be stupid, but how else could he help? "Umm...I'm not in any rush or something so...would you like me to walk with you somewhere? Your home perhaps?" He offered. He rationalised mentally that it was to make sure she wouldn't be trying to jump off of something again, but honestly he was just lost, he had never been in this situation before."No fiend of any shape or size, Will I allow to terrorize. You know I've got the strength to win the fight, Just count on me to make everything right. I am your guardian."

She was expecting something else like 'are you crazy?'. She looked back down at the water as he slowly loosened his grip from her wrist. She knew she wouldn't have a chance to jump now with this guy around. Her head snapped back to look at him. "No!" She said almost fearfully when he offered to walk her home. Her eyes had slightly widened but this time from fear. She didn't want to go home, she didn't want to return to that hell on Earth. "I-I mean...I don't even know who you are..." She tried to cover it up but it didn't work very well. She then realized how weird this would look to people passing by and climbed over the railing then straightened out her dress. It was just a simple white dress going to her mid thigh with a little black lace and some white gold colored flats to match.

Someday we'll find a way, Under the sun on a brighter day, To be together across the far plane." Sorath blinked in suprise as she, quite loudly, expressed her distaste for his suggestion, but beyond that wasn't too phased. As she spoke again, he almost facepalmed himself for not even realising that they were complete strangers to one another. "Right, I'm sorry. My name's Sorath, but everybody just calls me Sor." He said, moving out of the way as she climbed back over the railing. As simple an action as it was, he was relieved, it told him that the idea of jumping again wasn't going to happen. Now that most of the sudden stress of what had happened was over, Sor couldn't help but subconciously study her for a split second. He, for obvious reasons, didn't see it before, but she was quite an attractive girl, not that he'd readily be able to say that out loud. The bruise she had still raised questions, but he knew better than to ask them. As much as Sor disliked just standing there awkardly, there really wasn't a lot he could do about it other than ask questions, something that didn't exactly appeal . However, he felt obliged to somehow break the silence. "I'm sorry, but I don't think I remember you from anywhere, are you new to the area?" He asked."No fiend of any shape or size, Will I allow to terrorize. You know I've got the strength to win the fight, Just count on me to make everything right. I am your guardian."

She had a bandage wrapped around her upper right arm that hid the deep cut though it wasn't discrete since the blood stain was visible through the white cloth. She nodded in response to his question. "I...we go to the same school...I moved in the beginning of this week..." Her voice was soft and never rose again except for when she had raised her voice at him in panic.

Someday we'll find a way, Under the sun on a brighter day, To be together across the far plane." Sorath gave a small nod, taking note of her name and offered a gentle smile. "Ryoko, that's a pretty name. It's nice to meet you." He said, although wished that the circumstances of their meeting was much more, well, pleasant. When she spoke again, Sor blinked again, a more obvious one than usual. Generally, in his group of friends, word of new students arrived to him quite early, but somehow Ryoko had managed to go almost a full school week under the radar. "Really? It's been a while since we had any new....hm?" He cut himself off as he saw something to Ryoko's right, some random splash of red. He soon found his gaze resting on the sleeve of her dress, his eyes staring directly at what he could easily identify as a blood stain. "You...you're bleeding." He said, absent-mindedly taking a small step closer to see it a little better. Although he didn't need to see it completely, unsure how she'd react if he lifted the sleeve up without warning, he had a very vague medical knowledge. You should get that looked at, it could get infected as is." He said, looking back at Ryoko, his gaze filled with a genuine concern. "Listen, I know we don't know eachother all that well, but come with me. My mom's a nurse but she's not on call today, it'd be quicker than waiting around in a clinic and safer than just letting it run its' course."
{a little scatterbrained today, hopefully there wasn't too much difficulty following that >.> }"No fiend of any shape or size, Will I allow to terrorize. You know I've got the strength to win the fight, Just count on me to make everything right. I am your guardian."

She raised an eyebrow when Sorath didn't finish what he was saying but then she followed his eyes when he said she was bleeding. She looked at the deep cut on her arm and nodded. "Alright..." She said agreeing. It wasn't something she normally would have agreed to, but for some reason she felt like she could trust him. As long as it means I don't have to go "home"... She thought and looked at Sorath but paused. Her cheeks turned a light pink and she looked back at the ground. She never really looked at him before, but she just now realized he was very cute, but knew he'd have no interest in someone like her. He probably already had a girlfriend. She just waited for Sorath to lead her to his house, whichever direction that was in.

Someday we'll find a way, Under the sun on a brighter day, To be together across the far plane." Sorath nodded again, glad that there wouldn't be any resistance from Ryoko. "Okay, it's not to far from here...this way." He said, leading her back across the road and heading in the direction he had started to go earlier. The blush on her face hadn't escaped Sor's gaze, it made him curious. Was she shy? Embarassed? He didn't know. Although it wouldn't seem like it, given his status in school, he had very little experience when it came to the opposite gender, especially when it involved reading their emotions and such from a simple glance. Before he got too caught up in the thought, he looked to her again, just making sure she wasn't about to collapse due to bloodloss, although in all honesty he didn't know how much bleeding it would take for that to happen.
The walk home was rather silent, but it wasn't as awkward as what it could have been. Sorath was mostly focused on the path ahead of them, but he did occaisionally take a moment to look up at the sky every now and again. It was a hobby of his whenever he was outside, looking up and seeing everything he could see, guessing shapes in clouds and trying to figure out where planes were going, it'd feel weird to him if he didn't nowadays. Within minutes, they had arrived at their destination. The house was rather simple in its' design. Two stories, garden on each side of a stone pathway to the door instead of a lawn, a small metal mailbox with the word 'Chisuga' printed on the side. Simple, yes, but it was home. Looking to Ryoko, Sorath smiled lightly and jerked his head towards the door before leading again. Unlocking the door, he opened it and gestured for her to enter first before calling into the house. "I'm home! Mom could you come over here for a second?" He asked, a woman's voice soon followed. "Just a moment Sor, Yumi's being fidgety." It answered. As Sorath closed the door, the owner of the voice came down the stairs nearby, a small baby girl with light grey hair in her arms. The first thing she noticed, obviously, was the unknown girl standing with Sorath, she tilted her head slightly and smiled. "And who might this be? Friend of yours?""No fiend of any shape or size, Will I allow to terrorize. You know I've got the strength to win the fight, Just count on me to make everything right. I am your guardian."
