The Gist/Outline
|| ::Arranged Marriages - This is a very common occurrence in the Colony. The nobility will usually arrange marriages for their offspring to gain power and ranking. It is very rare to see a noble cub that does not already have an arranged marriage.
OCCly, things aren't actually 'arranged' for you. It does, however, mean that you should be fairly conscientious about who you pick to mate your cheetah to. c: In the regular ranks, it's not really even something that needs a whole lot of thought, unless you're mating to a noble. For example:
Marchand + Chevalier = ✓
Jongleur + Noble = Iffy, but ✓
Domestique + Noble = x
|| ::Inter-Pridal Marriages - This is restricted only to those of the following ranks:
|| :: + Fils + Filles
|| :: + Petite Fils + Filles
|| :: + Nobles
|| :: + Chevaliers
|| :: + Marchands
|| :: + Yclaireurs + Yclaireuses
Inter-pridal marriages are made only with the Kuroi'Nera, and are seen as honorable occurrences only fit for those of high rank, or for those who would be frequenting the other pride.
|| :: + General Marriages -

With every new litter born into the pride, Nicephore takes great care to assess every cub, even ones born to the lower class. Each cub is then added to one of three lists: Tout le Monde, Amis, and Soi-Meme.
|| :: + Tout le Monde: If a cub is on this list, it means that they can, basically, choose their own mate (or their parents will choose it for them.) It primarily means that they are able to pick a mate that's not even in the pride. Unlike those on the Amis list, cheetahs on this list are your more 'everyday' cheetah, and they are expected to find their own mate on their own time, even if that mate is in the Kuroi or elsewhere.
|| :: + Amis: If a cub is on this list, it means that they have been selected to be up for arranged marriages with the pride's ally, the Kuroi'Nera. Cubs on this list are hand-selected, so the list is fairly small. Unlike those on Tout le Monde, cheetahs on this list are generally higher rank, and are paired well; these cubs also tend to come from bigger noble families, as it serves as a way to cycle new blood into the nobility.
|| :: + Soi-Meme: If a cub is on this list, it means that they are restricted to arranged marriages and matings within the Makini only. These cubs are either nobles who are of newer blood, to keep the pride going, or cubs of low rank.
What this means is this:
|| :: + Nicephore will decide which cub(s) will be offered for arranged marriages with the Kuroi'Nera. This decision is absolute, and no one would ever dare to question his decision.
|| :: + OCCly, you fill out a form in the Marriage Applications thread, and figure out which list your cub would be on; it is preferred that you do so early on, but you can do it whenever you are ready.
|| :: + They are added to their respective list, and then others who are on that list can look and see who's eligible, etc.
|| :: + The owners can contact each other (or find each other through plot threads, whatever works) and figure something out.
|| :: + Once everything is settled, they apply for a Marriage, and then they'll be added to a list and can then breed whenever they'd like without having to apply multiple times, etc.

As far as living goes, the female will move to the male's pride, unless there are specific reasons that would make her stay (i.e. illness, very high royalty, etc.) or, in the Kuroi'Nera's case, if she is a seer.
