Rani'Kob was out conditioning on the beach, as per her usual daily breaking dawn routine. First she started with a vigorus run from almost where she slept, out to the borders of the pride along to a particular section of the beach where there was a very long island made of large boulders. The boulders were perfect for jumping, climbing, crawling, and most importantly it created an underwater cave perfect for stowing her booty, surrounded by natural beauties.
Every day Kob left before the sun rose, and did not return until it was well into the sky, just intime for other lions to notice she is sleeping right where she should be. So while she was out doing her routines, she is in the zone, totally oblivious to anything or anyone around her. She, was a thief.

Mako used the morning before the pride was awake to get out and search for different bobbles; he was after all a crafter, which some seemed to think meant making something out of absolutely nothing. On the contrary, it took a lot of time foraging the landscape to make the various objects people asked of him. The merchants were always so tricky so handle, like an eel right through your paws when you havn't eaten in days. Either that or he just hadn't found a merchant he trusted yet. They were always trying to make the perverbial profit, there was no real work (so he thought) into being a merchant. Honestly he'd rather deal directly with a thief, at least they produce something out of nothing quite literally. These were Mako's conclusions that he drew from the stories he heard while taking orders in his shop. Things such as feathers attached to little bronze hoops in for their ears to symbolize a great triumph that just sounded too easy to be 'reeal work'. At least compared to the thiefs that tell him of weeks or months of planning of a hiest and the days they had to travel for 5 minutes of perfect exectution. They had the real shark's job..

The lioness saw the crafter first, of course she knew who he was, he was becoming quite good as his work.. To some this would be the ideal oppertunity... Like casually seeing Santa Paws walking down the street! But she was much much too shy for all of that business, there was a reason she was a thief, so she didn't have to deal with the majority of the pride. And this lion to her, stood for the majority. Oh how she missed her muse, she was always pushing Kob to get out of her shell, she said that great things would come from contact. And now that her muse was gone she was usuall quite lonely.
As she mulled things over in her head, she lept into the water from the farthest point of the strain of boulders, washing off the sweat and grime she had been working up. Afterall, she didn't want her first impression on any lion to be her smell! What would she talk to the crafter about? Glittery things. Yes! Everyone liked things that glitter. Slowly the lioness surfaced and with her emerald eyes, searched for the large black lion once again. Where'd he go?

Habit will forever have a hold on Mako'Croft to listen for his muse, secretly praying that one day there will be another whisper. That's why he charished this time of the day, when there was only sounds of former muses trying to speak to him in confidence with croaks, chirps and squeeks. The splash out in the ocean perked the lions black and white ears as it silenced the other creatures in an instant, the splash of a large non-aquatic animal.
Normally that was his que for his facade to come into play, but a disturbance at this time in the morning could very possibly mean danger. That was his que to be on his guard, and before he could think, up a tree, ready to strike. He could not believe his eyes when he saw something approaching the shore, out of the water popped.. a fin? Could he be dreaming? Then the rest of the lioness emerged and he sighed with disappointment. The shock of his muse being gone was still secretly quite devistating. But still he sat silently, waiting to watch the lioness before he moved on with his hunt of bobbles.

Since Rani wasn't exactly what you would call a slow swimming, she figured the large black male couldn't have gotten too far.
"Hello?" She spoke out and waited for a responce.
"I think I might have a business opportunity for you.." She added more to herself than anyone else.
Wonderful, she thought to herself, she let another opportunity slip through her paws.

Without sound or notice, he dropped from his position, not 4 feet from the lioness. As she jumped back, he took a step forward and kneeled down, "I mean you no harm, I'm so sorry to frighten you." Truely, her screech had made his heart beat a much quicker than normal as well. "I'm Mako'Croft, Crafter by skill, and you remind me of a young theif I once heard of."
As he sat back up, he couldn't help but laugh off the entire scare. "Business opportunity? An alliance between a thief and a crafter? There has not up to this point been one between our classes." Assuming, it seemed sometimes prevailed.

Rani also found herself laughing off the scare, guess that was the benefit of being in a pride where everyone was a little crazy. Was she transparent, or was the male a great guesser?
"I am Rani'Kob, and that's exactly it Crafter, an alliance. I have a proclivity for procuring items that I've seen you put into use with great art and skill." She looked to him, trying to read if her proposal was falling on deaf ears. To her great suprise, he was listening eagerly.
"Your clients don't have to know where the things came from, and I get the joy of seeing an object I stole from others faceted in jewelry in my own pride here at home. I could never wear everything I've stolen, this way I don't have to stop." Though honestly her next ventures would hopefully lead in directions of more alive targets, she could never stay away from shiney things.

While Rani was speaking, he nodded his head, listening to her words carefully trying to identify the reasons behind them. Alterior motives? Why there seemed not really to be any, especially since there was no real form of monitary system in their pride.
If he understood the proposition correctly, this would mean he wouldn't have to deal so much with the merchants, just for the things only they could bring in.. Which would mean for him, less favors, thank goodness.
"Could I request specific items?" Another question came from his lips before he could really think about it, "And what is that you want exacly from our exchanges?" Not that he would ever dream of accusing this seemingly level headed lioness of trying to take advantage of him.

"Want?" She was almost confused by the notion for a moment. But then things came together in a very awkward moment of clarity.
"The only thing I would ask from you, great crafter, is that you spread the word to only thieves you feel could handle the job, that I am up to something. But this will come later on in our dealings. For now, lets just say our two great ranks benefit each other." Slowly, a smile draped across her face as she re-calculated her answer.
"Yes? So what do you say, Mako?" Really, why would he turn it down? He'd have to be.. Crazy? I was crazy once, they threw me in a room, a room with walls.. Quickly she pulled herself back into the present moment, thankfully those relapses were becoming fewer and farther apart.

"Well then, Miss Rani'Kob. I do believe you have yourself a business partner." His great cue-tip of a mane waved front to back as he nodded his head.
"Absolutely, finally I can work with a lion that actually works for a living. I really don't trust those dirty merchants." He paused, not realizing that he could have offended her.
"Well, I have much more collecting to do before the shop opens. Best of luck to you, you know where to find me." With that he bowed and took off in search of decorative leaves and feather's for the Prince's sash.
