Goodness was she glad that winter was over! Pavi had been keeping herself all cooped up indoors the majority of the cold months, and gravely missed the warmth of the sun, and the smell of fresh air. But now that winter fashion was out, and Spring was in, she found herself in need of a shopping run! After some time thinking about it, she realized perhaps it'd be best to save that for another day. With it being so nice and sunny out, she didn't want to be indoors all that much. So she decided instead to peg that duty for another day; regardless of how much she enjoyed such an activity. She had plenty of skirts and dresses to wear til then.

Leaving her apartment in the busy city, Pavi strolled gracefully down the sidewalk that was lined along the way. A visit to the park sounded like a splendid idea, and maybe grabbing something to eat at a cafe! Ah the thought was thrilling! It was unfortunate she didn't have any friends around here.. it would have been nice to have a little company for the day... but Pavi wasn't going to let that get her down. Her soft brown eyes were glistening with excitement, gazing around at those whom she passed by, giving a little nod or wink in acknowledgement to those that caught her eye. A gentle hum started to rise from her as she walked along the now parting path, entering the center of town that would lead her to the park on the opposing side. Her lightly glossed lips kept sealed, trapping the humming from turning into singing, even if she wanted to. It wouldn't be appropriate quite yet. There were far too many people around engaged in conversation and the like, but the park... it was free reign there~ Grinning to herself, her well manicured fingers tapped against the exposed flesh along the sides of her thighs at tempo to her trapped voice.

Getting past the main throb of the populated area of town, the witch 'floated' on into the public park with an even more lax expression. Already she was listening to the much more present birds, and the the bowing of tree branches as the wind whisked by at the higher altitude. The aroma's that wafted were fresh and invigorating, holding flower, pollen, grass, and the rich scent of earth. How divine it was~
Following along a path that lead her past a small fountain, Pavi took her sweet time, admiring the beauty that nature had to offer. But as she did, she could have sworn she heard the sound of music a little further on...

Dane scratched his head, furrowing his dark brows at the sheets of paper that littered the ground around him as he sat at the base of a tree in the park. The witch was situated a bit further off from the general populace, though the sounds of his guitar could be heard if anyone strained to listen. He wasn’t playing for them right now, after all, but for himself. Lifting his pencil, he scribbled a few notes onto the pad next to him, before promptly erasing them, dropping the writing tool into the grass. The musician sighed, rubbing his face in frustration. The song he’d had in his mind wasn’t turning out how he wanted it to.

It was by some feat he’d graduated the Academy, so often did he prefer making music to practicing magic, though in the end Dane had managed some level of proficiency in both. As a result his magic was more environmental, though any effect this had on his surroundings at present were passive and entirely unintentional. It would take much time and dedication still to unify these two passions of his, if only he could summon the motivation to.

For now, Dane was perfectly content with where he was now, sitting in the park with the love of his life (his guitar, obviously). Fingering the strings, the dark-haired man considered a song to play by way of a break from the cerebral work of composing music. Eventually he settled on a poignant, but not unhappy tune, and the ghost of a smile could be seen forming on his lips as the first notes of the song echoed out of his instrument.

When he was in his state, nothing else existed to him. Not the onset of spring, the flowers, the sun—these were things for others to appreciate, and probably the reasons there were so many people out and about today. To Dane, his music was beyond the scope of such simple perceptions, a rather conceited notion. In any case, he certainly didn’t notice the girl heading down the path toward him now.

Now alert eyes scanned her surroundings more thoroughly, trying to hone in on the source of the very light melody that drifted to her ears. But the closer she grew to it, the more easier it was to make out. Stringed instrument, for sure, by the way the notes sounded plucked, and semi-staccato. But a fluidity and legato was present in the clear intonation. Already entranced, Pavi didn't hesitate to approach a figure that was settled at the bottom of a grand tree that provided a great deal of shade.

It was a gent, that much was apparent, who was heavily engaged with the guitar in his lap. A soft smile broke out along the woman's lips to show her appreciation, finally pausing just a few steps off from him to listen contently. Her hands folded before her, and weight was distributed to one leg comfortably. She remained quiet, respectfully, but her fingers did tap along with the beat, eyes glancing to passerby's with a friendly smile, before returning to the unknown musician. She'd never seen him before... was he new to town? Being the socialite that she was, it wasn't common for her to be out of the loop of the new kids on the block. But she had been inside all winter... maybe he came strolling in around then.

Regardless, she was enjoying the fitting tune that added to the serenity of the charming park. Made her wonder why there weren't more musicians out and about playing like this more often! It'd surely make one's park visiting experience all the more pleasant.

The song flowing from his fingers stretched on for several minutes, and Dane closed his light green eyes, losing himself momentarily in the elegant notes his guitar was producing. The other sounds faded from his perception, until only the sweet melody floated in the air above him. He’d spent hours composing this one, on a sunny day not unlike the one that was upon them now, though he’d been very alone when he’d written it. Not that it really mattered that there were others around right now, not when he was hardly aware of them anyway.

Reverting back to this piece was easy; it was always easy to fall back on familiar things when other endeavors became difficult, whether this was simply the composition of another piece or something more serious such as deciding what path to take with his magical abilities. He couldn’t do this forever, though, as much as he may have wanted to, because eventually, he’d open his eyes and be faced with the harsh reality of the life he’d chosen.

This time, pale eyes blinked open to find a young woman standing just a few paces away, her lips curved up in appreciation of the music he’d been playing. Dane was slightly taken aback at the fact that someone had taken the effort to find him in the shade of the far-off tree. He wasn’t well-known enough to have that many fans, you see, and the fans he did have would have announced their presence in a much more violently affectionate way by now.

As much as he had wanted to be relatively alone today, he was grateful for the fact that the woman with multi-colored hair was respectful of his musicianship. As the last chords of the song struck the air between them, he couldn’t help his crowd-pleasing smirk from making a brief appearance on his face. “Good afternoon.”

No worries~

Eventually, the longer she stood there and listened, her eyes eased close to block out any distractions that sight might bring. The man was truly skilled, she had to give him that. It was surprising to her that others weren't already here, or didn't join in her admiration. Surely someone else could hear the melodic tune drifting throughout the park? Well... that just meant more for her!

Her fingers lightly tapped continuously, head giving the subtlest of bobs with the tempo as well. What a delightful way to start a day~! As the song came to a conclusion, her eyes fluttered open, and her smile broadened. She lifted her hands to give a little playful applause, in the same turn taking advantage to approach a little closer, "Bravo, good sir, bravo~" she chimed teasingly, "That was very pleasing to the senses." her eyes gave a curious glance along the instrument in his hands. She wasn't a musician herself, but she appreciated it greatly. Well.. she dabbled with the piano from time to time, but that was merely because she'd been taught it as a girl. It wasn't easy to come by one anymore!

Not only did her gaze give a once over the guitar, but they also ventured along the man holding it, grinning a little more in approval of his attractive appearance. Wasn't often you saw cute guys like these around ... She couldn't help herself, and thus stepped close enough to be standing right before him, "Are you perhaps a famous musician that I don't know about yet?" her tone held that same playfulness to it, hands folding behind her back. A little flirting couldn't hurt, right?

Dane let a low chuckle escape his throat at the woman’s applause and favorable reaction when he finished his song. He couldn’t deny that he was used to hearing these things, at least from those who actually listened to and watched his performances, but that didn’t make these instances any less pleasing. His ego could always use some padding. A smile touched on the corner of his mouth, bringing his lips up into a crooked grin as he decided to humor the lovely lady standing before him.

“Famous?” he repeated with a brief laugh, “Hardly—it’s enough for me that you know me.” And she did now, didn’t she? Dane plucked a few strings on his guitar experimentally, the notes not quite forming a melody as he chose another song to play. Pressing on the strings to silence them again once he had, he gestured for her to sit next to him.

The musician certainly knew how to be a crowd pleaser. Special treatment wasn’t exactly his style though, not when there were crazy fans around. This girl didn’t seem to be quite like that, and it had been a while since the man had had normal company. Since they were effectively secluded in their corner of the park, it certainly wouldn’t hurt this time around.

“Let me play something for you,” he said casually, fixing her with his light green gaze as he waited expectantly. The first strains of his next song sounded from the instrument in his hands, and he smiled. “I’m Dane, by the way.”

Ah so he was a local musician. No matter! He was delightful to hear all the same! Smiling sweetly, she gave a nod to show she acknowledged his answer, "Have you been here long? I'm surprised I haven't heard you here before~" one of her hands lifted to allow a manicured and painted finger tap under her bottom lip in a habit while thinking. But the gesture made drew her out of such a rut, smile lifting even further. He didn't have to ask her twice!

Walking over, she carefully sat herself beside him, legs folding to one side neatly, a hand resting on her knee while the other served as a means of support... though the hand on her knee did lift briefly to smooth back a few fly-aways. Her eyes peered down curiously at his guitar, as well as the fingers fixed on the frets, in silent awe of the skill needed to remember just what positions made what notes and chords. The fingers on her knee even itched a little to give a try at the neck of the instrument... but of course, that would be something called boundary-pushing. And she certainly didn't know how defensive or attached the fellow witch was to his axe.

So instead she listed contently to the few strummed notes, lashes flickering as they gave brisk bats over her dark eyes. Though her gaze flashed up to meet the man's gaze, semi-surprised by the offer... but it could make a charming smile peel along her lips, "Oh how kind of you. I'd be honored~" she mused, taking her sweet time to look back down at the fingers that danced along the taught metal. Dane... Absorbing such key information, she glanced back up to him again, "It's nice to meet you, Dane. I'm Paviella~" she replied smoothly. Introductions out of the way, she couldn't deny the anticipation she held for what he was to play next.
