π Pi Day! π

Once every year there comes a special day celebrated by mathematicians worldwide, honoring the constant that we have come to know as Pi. 3.14, the first three digits of this number, is the same as the date on March 14; so the holiday got its name. So, in light of present problems or just because I really wanted to do something for the holiday because I'm a geek the Guild has decided to hold a celebration of Pi for its members as well.

Notice! This event takes place chronologically before the Chapters 48 & 49, so any character is welcome to participate. Notice!

Your Team wakes up to a knock on the door. When you look outside no one is there, but a peculiar item sits there in place of an actual visitor. Picking it up, you will find it to be a skillfully folded origami Porygon with words written on the sides. If you open the paper, you will find the following printed in a narrow and precise hand:

The Mysterious Math-Lover
Dear [Insert Your Team's Name Here],
We cordially invite you to join us for a celebration of the number Pi. Please note the numbers written at the bottom of this note, you'll want to remember them for later, and we hope to see you there!

The main hall has white streamers decorated with crudely drawn pictures of pies, a large table takes up the center of the room with, surprise, more pies on top of it.
You note, with some concern, everything seems to be covered in plastic wrap as though to protect from stains...

(Upon Posting you will be given a number. The number corresponds with your prize at the end of the event.
Once everyone has joined the actual event will be explained...)

---
You should all thank Dark-Hunter_Angelic-Tears (Darky) for this event! Otherwise you would not have it, because I am an a*****e and DO NOT THINK YOU ALL DESERVE DELICIOUS PIE >:T
(Credit to the post above is entirely Darky's~ TY DARKY :>)

( Red & Blue )

Red looked over the paper, flicking an ear as she tried to read over it. Well, at least, she understood the gist of it. Something about an invitation, cords, and...PIE! Oh, she looooved pie <3 ah, but they spelled it wrong...ha! And she was the dumb one, eh? She took the note in her mouth, trotting into the room. She's have to bring someone along to make sense of all the jibblywat numbers!

--

"ITS PIE DAY, PIE DAY!" Red ran up to the pie table, getting up on her hind legs as she looked at them all. "GOTTA GET DOWN ON PIE DAY!" She licked her lips, going over to one of the pies on the table, her stomach growling. "EVERYBODYS LOOKING FORWARDS TO THE WHIPPED CREAM, WHIPPED CREAM~!" Her jaw opened up, snapping up a chunk of the pie as she chewed and wolfed it down feverishly. A few more snaps, and all that was left was an empty tin, the vulpix licking off pie chunks from her muzzle, satisfied as she looked over the table and picked another victim pie.

"Red, you're being ridiculous" Blue went over to her side, watching her scarf down another pie. "First of all, its Pi day, not Pie day. As in, the number" Red looked up from her half-eaten pie, "...what? Pie isn't a number, stupid" she went back down to eating her pie, and she shook her head. "...nevermind then. Second of all, you're making a fool of yourself" She finished licking the edges of the pie tin clean, looking up at him. "Ha! Like I care. Let me have my fun, woman!" like anyone was going to ruin PIE DAY for her!

Eros + Minerva + Isis + Heimdall

Isis yawned as she woke up to knocking, noticing the others were awake as well the Jynx trudged over to the door, ready to give whoever came a yelling.
Opening the team room door however she saw no one, "What the...eff. Is there a ghost in this guild?" She then frowned, "Friggin' haunting spooks. I should salt them."

Eros shivered at the word salt, "Hey! As the team leader I resent what you said Isis!" He then pouted, "Not all ghosts are jerks you know..."

Isis blinked, "Ah...right. Some are just weird."

Eros just huffed as he pouted even more.

Minerva meanwhile raised a brow/lid at the sight of something on the floor, "Eh? My dears...I do believe there's something here..." Unleashing a vine, the Snivy grabbed the object from the ground and examined it, "Hm~ Such delightful craftsmanship...Yes...a nice attention to detail~ Oh my...I quite like whoever left this."

Isis took the origami Porygon from Minerva and quickly unfolded it making Minerva gasp in shock, "How cruel this uncouth Jynx is!" She then fell to the ground dramatically, "Oh paper Porygon! I shall miss you~"

Isis just rolled her eyes, "The guild's film academy must be absolutely dying over such an honest performance." She snarked causing the Snivy to huff haughtily.
Reading the paper, she raised a brow, "Oh?" She then turned to the guild, "Apparently a math freak is holding a celebration in the main hall for the number Pi."

Eros blinked, "Pi?" He then turned to Heimdall who had also awoken, "What's that?"

The Togepi priest sighed, "...It's a number used in math. It goes on infinitely." He then smiled, "I say we go."

Eros just shivered, "Ma-math?" He then shuddered more as he thought of math charts everywhere and number lessons, "...Oh Arceus. Someone actually made a number long enough to be used in math?!" He then sunk to the ground, "The horror..."

"Trying to take over Minerva's part for the film academy leader?" Isis commented dryly.
She then coughed a bit, "Ok. Let's get going. This seems fun."

Grumbling at the loss of his leadership Eros trudged along with the others, "I'm supposed to be the team leader..."
Minerva just patted him on the 'shoulder' in sympathy.

Isis and Heimdall just rolled their eyes, were they the only sane ones?

Hiro and Lunar

"Pie! Heck yeah!" an ecstatic Machop cried out before he joined in. Oh man, he'd get apple, cherry, and pumpkin. Yes, this was fate. No, this was DESTINY. This boy loved pie.

"Not that kind. Numbers..." Lunar muttered. Hiro overheard him and looked down in despair. No pie!? Oh chance was a cruel mistress one should not mess with.

"Now instead of stuffing my mouth, I guess I'll just try to strike a conv-" was all Hiro had to say as Lunar flew away, yelling "Sweet baby cakes! Pie shuts him up!" Soon the ghost had went on a wild pie search, frantically searching anywhere and everywhere. Hiro laughed as he walked around.

He was more of a cake person, actually.

Keiran & Skye & Istas

"So what's the point of this, anyway?" Keiran's voice was low and irritated, as though he very much wished to be back and resting at the hospital; in truth, he really did. The nurses had given him leave for the afternoon, as he'd the strength to move about, now. Still, he hadn't expected to run into Skye, nor her small and bouncing Pichu friend. Why did he agree to this? Just why? Did he not have an ounce of sense in his aching head?

"The holiday? I'm not sure. Something about the number pi, though why we're celebrating mathematics, I've not the faintest."

Her voice was so matter-of-fact for someone her age that he had to laugh. He regretted it a little, as the volume of his own voice made his head ring, but the amusement remained. "And why does this prompt me to go along?" He questioned further, trying to dig at the reasoning behind this.

"You ask a lot of questions, Keiran. Regardless, I'm going for Snow."

"Ah." It made sense now, he realized, watching the joyful little Pichu scamper about ahead of them, her blue tail waving high in the air, even as she stumbled over the edges of her own scarf. That scarf was really too long for her, but from what he could gather, no one seemed to be able to take it from her. Either that, or they didn't want to.

"She won't let us tailor it," Skye answered instinctively, dark eyes not even gazing his way as she spoke. She was the quiet sort, certainly, but there was no lack of intelligence in that bundle of fur. She'd make a clever warrior, if she ever bothered to give fighting a real chance. Then again, he'd rather not see children on a battlefield. To even consider it sounded... No, it was best not to linger on that. Kids got hurt that way. "And you need to lighten up."

He felt his face flash with heat, but he bit back a retort, rolling his eyes in silent argument. "...Are you actually dragging me to this?"

"Keiran, you joined us on your own. I'm not even excited for this; Istas just heard the word "pi" and thought of food." Skye sounded a little exasperated, but it was amusing enough to hear. Another low chuckle slipped from his throat, and the female blatantly ignored him. "If you want to go, then do so, by all means."

"...Nah. Something tells me that the guild will turn this into a fight of one sort or another. It might be entertaining to watch."

"This is the Sun Guild, Keiran. No one ever just watches anything."

The sight of the room, covered from top to bottom in plastic sheeting, and a table covered in various flavours of pie seemed to prove them both right. There was more than likely to be the throwing of desserts at one point or another. "...This place defies all logic and notion of sanity."

This time it was the Eevee's turn to laugh. "You're still new here, aren't you?"

"Piiiiiie~!"

Riley & Faran

"RILEY! Look at this!" Those were the words that had begun the crazy chain of events that now led the Eevee to be walking down the hall with his Vulpix charge bouncing about at his side. Somehow or another, whenever Faran wanted to do something it was Riley who got the job of looking after him more often than not. Today everyone he'd asked was busy with something else so, even though he didn't really feel like going to a party today, he was on his feet and heading out to join the rest of the Guild in celebration of a number, and an irrational one at that. It was things like this that made Riley wonder if they didn't just try and celebrate anything under the sun. Next they'd all be told to dress up like pirates on International Talk Like a Pirate Day or some such nonsense. There were so many minor and irrelevant holidays that if they all were celebrated there was really no point. The Eevee shook his head, frowning slightly; ah well, just because he didn't want to be here didn't mean that he shouldn't try and have fun. For Faran's sake if nothing else.

The vulpine in question was prancing about delightedly with a sparkle in his eyes. Pie! They were having a whole celebration just for pie! If that wasn't amazing then Faran didn't know what was. Of course, the others had told him it was actually celebrating the number Pi but that was kind of silly in the boy's mind. Why would you celebrate a number? Really it was dumb, especially when you could so easily make it into something enjoyable. After all, who didn't like pie! The Vulpix's mouth watered at the very thought of sinking his teeth into some sweet creamy pie. He hoped they had cream pies, or at least a good Oran Berry Pie, though Era's were definitely the best when it came to that. The thought of tasty pie was so wonderful that it kept him energized the whole painstaking walk to the Main Hall, and it was quite painstaking at that. Riley was moving so slowly! Faran just wanted to run the entire way there but he knew better than to do that. So he impatiently dashed forward several paces, rocked back and forth on the balls of his paws as he waited for Riley to catch up with him, and then repeated the process all the way to the Main Hall.

As the two quadrupeds wandered into the decorated hall their jaws dropped open, though for entirely different reasons. Riley's expression was somewhat skeptical as he looked about at the room, about to comment on the decorating job with an eye for the crudely decorated streamers, but Faran was staring at the pies piled high on the table with eyes popping out of his head. There were so many! More than he could ever hope to eat! This...this could be heaven. "Come on Riley! Let's go look at them!" he said, voice cracking with delight as he bounded forward to eye the pies hungrily, wondering if it was alright to sneak a taste. Riley rolled his eyes and followed, though a smile was on his face. Kids were so easily amused sometimes. Looking around though, despite the decorations not being promising those pies certainly were. This could be turned into a real party yet, especially if Riley had anything to say on the subject.

Steven & Christine

Steven flipped over the now-unfolded card and glanced at it several times. "Team Steven"... he guess it made sense since he didn't really run a team. It must've been what Ivy had registered him as. He would have to change it at some point, but he guessed it didn't really matter for the time being. Much more intriguing was the contents of the card itself. A "celebration of Pi"... He knew what it was, generally. His dad had never been a fan of unnecessary information so Steven's education hadn't exactly been normal, but he knew quite a bit of math all the same. Enough, anyways, to know that Pi was a number used in the calculations for a circle though nothing beyond that. His dad's focus (and later on his own) had had more to do with practical math; money, interest rates, probability... Things like that. There was a lot of value in being able to handle numbers.

After giving it another look over, he settled on the realization that it failed to describe the event itself. Still, it was tempting. In spite of his foray into the city to begin with, Christine was still very much at odds with the idea of civilization. Her first steps into the world had been ones of silence in an empty plain, and as a result the young girl found the hustle and bustle of crowds to be a very foreign and very scary thing. In her simple mindedness, she was happy as could be so long as the two of them were together but that needed to change. Steven couldn't work until he was confident she would be fine on her own and although he inwardly chastised himself for letting such a thing slow him down, he knew it was important. So the event provided a unique opportunity. It was guild members only so there wouldn't be too much traffic, it was kind of an odd event so it probably wouldn't be too packed and it was close enough to their familiar (safe) room that he could turn around if needed.

Steven made up his mind and walked over to Christine. The Sentret was sitting in the middle of the room where the sunlight streamed in through a closed window. It was warm there and it was one of her favourite spots, but it was especially so when she held onto the old coin as she did now. It was one of Steven's possessions from some of his earliest work that he had, much to his dismay, found out was completely worthless. Still, he kept it as something of a keepsake and he was careful to maintain all of his possessions and as a result, the coin reflected the light and gave off a bright shine that left a bright patch on the ceiling that moved around at the beckoning of Christine's amusement. The Wartortle leaned over slightly and extended his hand to the Sentret, who looked up at him curiously before grabbing hold of it, pulling herself up and then running up his arm and onto the back of his head. The coin was left forgotten in the sunlight as her attention was redirected; that motion meant one thing and one thing only: it was time to go.

Steven walked towards the Main Hall with his little passenger resting on the back of his head just as she always did; two little clawed feet rested just barely on the top of his shell while her two hands held onto the little furry, wing-like ears that sprouted from the side of his head. She had grown a little since her first significant outing, which thankfully had the effect of letting her feet rest more firmly on his shell. It took some of the weight off his ears, although she didn't weigh much for a Sentret being both light for her size and smaller than a fully-grown member of her species. Still, the ears were very sensitive... he didn't know how Ivy managed to stand it with a straight face.

When Steven walked into the Main Hall, he simply glanced about. There didn't seem to be any cards or any sort of directions and, in general, people didn't seem to be doing anything which meant that the event probably wasn't underway yet. So... all there was left to do was wait, at least for a little while.

((Finally back to normal intro post length. Feels good.))

Aries
Aries was a bit concerned. Actually he was more than a little concern. Didn't this region have problems to solve? Why would they waste time having a party about pie? He was complaining, but not really. The Skitty liked a good pie. Pie was delicious. He just didn't understand why anyone would think having a pie party was appropriate now.
Reading the flyer out loud to his team he was met with the same cynical response as he initially had. Harley was annoyed, Fiorin was displease, the kids were confused. Alec and Evelyn were far too busy ignoring him to even respond. Seriously guys, just because he was a cat and they were dogs did not mean they had to hate him immediately. At least their Mightyena captain was far more tolerant, though that was because Kitsune was gone. She'd mellowed out considerably without him, morose and borderline depressed. The mere mention of his name sent her into either a rabid fit of rage of a deep and sorrowful despair. The latter was preferred as the former caused property damage and bodily injury.
Seeing no one jump at the chance to go, the Skitty reluctantly decided to go on his own, regardless of what the others thought. They still had a job as a team. They still needed to be involved with the guilds and as silly as this sounded he figured he might as well represent them.

All thoughts of being sophisticated and stoic faded upon stepping into the room. The smell of various pie flavors struck him in the face so powerfully he had to take a step back. Delicious. Absolutely delicious.
Mama's cooking was never this mouth-watering! All his proper thoughts flew out the window and he gave a giddy bound into the room, his voice pitched into a delighted squeal. "This is the best day of my life~!" The feline wasted no time in approaching the great table at the center of the room and raising his paws to peer over it. His tongue swiped across his lips as he pulled a pie within range of his mouth and tore into it with the elegance of a drunken Spinda. Which is to say, no elegance at all.
Bits of red, cherry pie possibly, went flying across the table as he savagely devoured his prey.
The guys had no idea what they were missing. This was awesome.

When the last of those attending had arrived in the Main Hall, a Furret wearing wire-rimmed glasses and a tie around his throat walked timidly up to a podium set up at the front of the room and cleared his throat into the microphone. "H-hello everyone." he said, his nervousness evident in the quaver within his voice, "We're here today to celebrate the number Pi. In honor of this distinguished number I will now proceed to recite the first 100 digits of Pi. 3.14159265..." The Normal Type spoke in a dull and purposeful monotone, expression blank as he spoke and taking long pauses between each number in a way to make even the most interested of parties immediately bored.

Just when it was starting to get tedious (the Furret had reached about the thirtieth digit) a Plusle and Minun duo jumped up onto the podium from out of nowhere and grinned at the audience. "Sur-prise!" they shouted into the microphone, loud enough to make the makeshift sound system whine in protest with feedback. "Bet you were afraid this would be something like that," the Plusle said with a giggle. "But it's not!" the Minun finished. "Hopefully the pie on the table was a big hint," he added in a stage whisper, both of the Electric Pokemon seeming to think they'd just pulled off the most witty trick in the world. "Welcome to Pi Day!"

The Furret, who had been continuing his monotonous speech the entire time as though the two Electric Types hadn't just interrupted him suddenly stopped and interjected, tossing his tie and glasses to the ground as he did. "That's right, Pi Day! The time honored tradition of celebrating the number by eating it's namesake. Well...almost at least. It's alright though. Everyone does it."

"So everyone help yourself to as much pie as you want!" the Plusle cheered. "We have fruit pies and cream pies and meat pies and cheese pies and big pies and small pies and warm pies and cold pies and round pies and square pies and Pi-shaped pies!" The more the Plusle mentioned, the clearer it became just how many pies were piled up on top of each other on that center table. It was no wonder everything was covered in plastic wrap really: if you tried to grab one of the bottom pies the top pies would certainly fall down on you. This had the potential to get really sticky really fast, and likely would. Pie fights are encouraged.

"We're even having a 'Pi' eating contest if you're interested! With a prize for the first place winner!" the Minun chirped. "Anyone interested should go over to the table over there." He gestured to a smaller, less noticeable table with places for several people that was-for the moment-devoid of pies. "One one person per Team please!"

The Furret grinned, "But just remember, have fun!"

~~~~~~~~~~
Pie Eating Contest Rules!
Only one character per Team can participate, to make things fair. In order to compete, you have to win the preliminaries. (Don't worry, they're easy) Roll a four-sided die: 1 you fail, 2-4 you're in! This determines how many quarters of pie your character can eat in five minutes (i.e. 4 quarters is a whole pie!). Rules for the next round will be put up after everyone posts for this.
As for those not participating in the contest, feel free to socialize and do whatever you please with the pies. ^ ^
Eros + Minerva + Isis + Heimdall
Eros blinked as the Furret began to recite numbers, this...this had to be a form of torture right?
Maybe it was torture to see if they could face future challenges?
...Would they have to recite numbers?!
Minerva meanwhile had grabbed a slice of shepard's pie, "...Delectable."
She then noticed the Plusle and Minun interrupt the Furret and start speaking about the various kinds of pies, "...I applaud their showmanship at least."
Minerva then watched the stage presence as she chewed on her pie, "...Wonder who made all this?"
Isis meanwhile had grabbed a piece of key lime pie as she listened to the rambling, "...That is way too much talking. Can we go back to the guy reciting the digits of Pi?"
Heimdall just glanced at the co-leader, "Eh...You just want to cause our leader pain."
Isis smirked, "I can't say that's not true."
At the mention of a pie eating contest, Eros' eyes widened, "...Re-really?"
This was great! He'd totally join!
Pie...tons of pie...Delicious!
Isis just scoffed, Eros was going to get sick.
Oh well, it would serve the ghost type right.
Eros just floated over to the table where they had to gather, "Let's get this started! Totally!"
Steven & Christine
Steven watched the little show unfold without any real sense of amusement. A pie eating competition... was a little bit lame. More specifically, it was exactly the kind of stereotypical event one might expect and he wasn't dreadfully fond of the idea, but looking around it seemed like the best thing he could do. He wasn't exactly the type who would just walk up to someone and talk to them randomly; it was simply out of the question. He preferred not to bother other people. So in spite of his very specific reservations with the contest, he decided to participate although he would do so with good manners. If they did not have a fork and knife for him to use he would produce one from the pouches that rested on his belt. He hadn't even realized he had been wearing it, so familiar was the metallic clinking that accompanied his every step. A small, dull knife and similarly small fork rested in one of the pouches near the back, where he typically stored things he didn't need to access quickly. It wasn't much of a knife, but given his usual game it served just fine; he didn't tend to eat chewy food. For something soft like pie, it would be fine.
Christine, on the other hand, was potentially even less enthused than Steven was although for a much different reason. Simply put, she didn't quite understand what was going on as she rode her parent over to the spot where he sat down. Whether his cutlery came by way of the event or by virtue of his own, almost paranoid desire to be prepared for anything he settled down and quietly began cutting off large parts of the pie to eat. His mouth was better suited to tearing and swallowing than any kind of thorough chewing, so in spite of his fair care for manners he managed to eat at a fine rate. The pies were well cooked and the faint hint of cinnamon resting below the strong taste of the apples did a fine job of mitigating the almost instant regret. Having been possibly the only child ever born not to desire candy, sweet things weren't exactly his forte and though he would manage to finish, he would do so with some difficulty if only out of courtesy to whatever chef prepared it.
Christine, of course, passed the time from the safety of her perch. With a little p***k of her claws (and a subtle flinch from Steven) the Sentret managed to climb on top of the Wartortle's head where she balanced herself lightly against his ears. Her tail slipped back under her and out in front, where it rested down the back of Steven's head and out of his way. He had been right to assume that the event would be a fine enough idea. Attendance wasn't very high. The crisis which he considered himself only mildly related to had significantly reduced the guild's collective desire for such an event. There were people enough around that it was a fine event but not enough to make the Sentret really uncomfortable. Most importantly, she had space. The little personal bubble that surrounded her and her father hadn't been breached by anyone, so there was no reason to be uncomfortable. If anyone got too close she could always just hide, so it was fine.
So, from her lofty perch of Steven's head she looked around, curious but unmoving. She wasn't hungry and although the sweet smell was tantalizing, the seemingly mixed, sourceless nature removed any desire to track it down. So, she just looked around the room as any infant did; with a blank expression that simply left you wondering what they were thinking. She wasn't going to leave her little bubble, anyways. She was always with Steven. Always.
Hiro and Lunar
At the prelim table an entire pie was placed in front of Hiro. He took out a fork and a knife, oh so ready for this and dig straight in. The Machop ommed and nommed his entire face. One piece of pie. Then came the stomache ache. Moving away from the table he leaned against the wall, hand on his belly. Ugh.... pie, so good. Why must it hurt so?!
"This is what I get for being a cake person." Hiro said quietly. Lunar floated over and almost laughed to his partners dismay. Almost. Instead he gave a big, giddy, grin. That in mind the ghost floated away from his partner. Hiro gave Lunar a look of sever annoyance. He'd find a way to get even, that he would. And the prank wars have begun.
( Red & Blue )
Red licked the tin of pie number twelve, setting it to the side with all the others. Goop wasn't the only one with an endless stomach, nono! This endless stomach of hers, however, craved sweet things, and oh how pies were sweet. All sorts of flavors, tangy, sweet, crunchy--
Her thoughts were interrupted as Blue began to push her, dragging her away from this table and over to another. "Pie eating contest, it'll be a surprise if you managed not to come in close" Reds ears perked up, t-there was a contest for these sorts of things? You were rewarded for being fat? Oh heck yes, sign this girl up. She looked at the pie in front of her, smashing her face into it and eating it from the middle outwards. No pie would stand in her way!
OtisxxxxMila
The pair entered the hall, still without a name. What good would a name do them now? They weren't on any missions as of yet, and Otis was overly indecisive. Mila had given plenty of suggestions, but all of her ideas had the word 'bloody' or 'death' in the name. They were grim, and Otis did not want any of these names, since they might scare away the clients they did not even have yet. Otis figured something would come to them eventually, and focused on the event at hand. Some sort of strange holiday he had never heard of. As soon as the sights, and sounds of a crowd aroused the eevee's attention, he immediately began to shiver and shake in his own fur. Mila eyed him awkwardly and gave an obnoxious sigh, why had she been paired with such a boring brute? With a short grunt, she eyed the pies. She quickly put on her game face, widened her eyes, and pulled her paws up to her mouth to give the most innocent look she could muster. Otis was too busy losing all of his humanity and melting to the floor to notice Mila, her antics, and even the piles of pie. Mila wondered if he really was any good at fighting, since he seemed to melt at the first sign of something breathing in front of him. Mila's attention was shifted as she heard the tail end of the announcement about the pie eating contest, and began to push Otis toward the table. Otis just allowed Mila to control his movements, no longer acquiring a functioning brain. Mila figured it had melted or run for cover. How could a socially retarded hermit like Otis ever hope to run a team? He did know living and breathing creatures would be under his command, didn't he? She'd have to get Otis out of his shell eventually, and now was a good place to start. She'd help him and encourage him to shove pies down his throat, and he'd make some friends. It was not Mila's best work, but she would focus on more details and her manipulative handiwork some other time. For now perhaps it was better for the team of newbies to stay a bit more low key.
Otis turned to face Mila and his head cocked slightly to the side, making one of his ears tip cutely upward, as if trying to hear a sound no one else could. "What are these things?" Mila hesitated, not sure if he meant all the Pokemon surrounding him. He couldn't mean that...could he? His brain did seem to melt away with all the sudden fear of a crowd. And it was not even a thick crowd. Not yet anyhow, Mila was sure the free pie thing would wrangle up anyone around with a mouth, and a nose to lead them to it. Otis plopped on his rump and lifted a paw to point to the pie. Wait...did he not know what pie was? Mila's head now tilted, her eyes studying her brain dead partner. "You...are kidding, right?" Otis felt a tad hurt, and felt that his partner might be mocking him for a second. It even left a sour taste in his mouth. He disliked being mocked, especially by someone he had a soft spot for. Not that he knew consciously he was more comfortable around Mila.
Keiran & Skye & Istas
Skye watched with amusement as the little Pichu scampered off across the room, her pale little paws just waiting to dig into the mess that the pies would no doubt bring her. The Eevee could only smile a little uneasily at the thought of trying to wash the deep, dark violet of blueberry out of her white fur. That would... not end well. If she was to look on the bright side, however, she would have nice violet mittens for a while afterward. A cross between a smile and a grimace twisted her expression, and Keiran's laughter bubbled up in her ears. "She's going to come home wearing her share of pie, isn't she?" groaned the teenager, only prompting another bout of chuckles from her companion.
The Furret approached the front of the room, his tone monotonous and drawling as he began to speak. She could swear that she heard a slight lisp to his voice, at some points in his speech, but it seemed a little too dull to really delve into the matter. Her ears twitched downward, and she listened with a forcibly attentive expression. She should at least try to be polite. Keiran, who stood beside her with his arms crossed and his eyes fixed on the ceiling, seemed not to really share the same belief.
Needless to say, both were quite relieved when the Plusle intrvened, and the Furret revealed himself shortly after to have been pulling a prank on the entirety of the crowd. Skye seemed vaguely interested in the contest that was to take place, but she knew full-well that she wasn't quite fit to be a participant. She couldn't stomach a lot of food, and she would much prefer just to enjoy a little of the pie. There were a few friendly faces among the crowd, and she had Istas to watch after; it certainly wasn't going to be as dull as she'd originally thought.
"I'll see you later, Skye. I think I'm going to give this contest a try, if only for the sake of free food," Keiran informed her, dipping his head slightly, as he always did. The Riolu was an odd one, but at least he was a gentleman. Skye offered a slight, small smile as her dark-furred companion stalked off toward the main table, already trying to find a good place among the crowd.
Skye's attention turned back to Istas, whom she quickly realized that she'd lost track of. Panic bubbled up for a split second, but very soon after, she calmed herself. The guild was a generally safe place to be, and anyone who sought to harm an innocent child in a place like this... they were severely out of place. In an event like this, particularly, there was likely to be no real danger for the young Pichu to get into. A flash of white and periwinkle fur shifted in the corner of her vision, and the tension visibly drained from her lithe little body. Yes, nothing to worry about.
The female padded to a less crowded part of the room, looking for a place to sit down and find herself something to eat. As she did so, she found herself almost nose to nose with a surprisingly familiar face. Another Eevee, his tan fur sleek and glossy, as if groomed for show. He had large, expressive and dark eyes, a glittering black cape adorning his neck. He looked almost over-dressed for such an informal occasion, but the easy-going expression that smoothed his features made him far more approachable to the young girl. She flicked her ears back shyly, but her usual, small smile still curved her mouth.
"Ah, I'm sorry! I must not have been paying attention," she apologized swiftly, her voice light but concerned, in hopes of smoothing any frayed nerves she might have brought about. Her tail curled nervously at the tip, making it seem almost fluffier than usual. Her uneasiness seemed to fade as she recognized him to be a friend of Era's, the Pikachu that had helped her few days prior. She wasn't sure whether or not the two were teammates, but the Electric-type didn't seem the sort to associate with anyone unkind. "My name is Skye, it's a pleasure to meet you!" It seemed only polite to introduce herself, seeing as she'd accidentally bumped headfirst into his shoulder.
Keiran headed immediately for the cake table, his heart set on finding himself a free meal for the evening. Granted, it wasn't the healthiest of meals, but it would certainly soothe the aching that had long since set into his stomach. As he wasn't welcome within his own team room, there was scarcely the space in Celeste's heart to allow him food money. He'd done reasonably well for a while, scrounging what food scraps that he could from the town, but his sources had run unexpectedly dry as of late, and he was beginning to hunger a little more.
He sat down, drawing the first pastry close to him as he hungrily cut himself the first slice, The sweet berry juices met his tongue, trickling down his throat, and he very suddenly realized just how hungry he was. He couldn't remember when he'd last eaten. Delighted by the turn of events, he found himself easily managing the sweet, delicious pie, although his stomach churned to have such a large amount of food hitting his empty stomach. He wouldn't be surprised if he came away from this dreadfully ill and losing half of what he'd managed to ingest, but at the moment, he could really care less. There was so much food here, and so few people who'd actually turned up to eat it. No doubt that there would be enough for him to sneak some back to his little hideaway.
A bubble of warmth burst somewhere in his chest, and the odd sensation of contentment spilled through him. He felt so strangely calm and happy in that moment that he felt he'd nothing left to fear.
Istas bounced about her little tail waving excitedly as she followed her nose through the thick crowd. She'd caught sight of the pies, earlier, and though she didn't know what they were, they certainly smelled really good. She didn't know what to make of them, other than the immediate instinct that was to gobble them whole. They smelled warm, too, if warm was a smell. Could she smell warm? She didn't know. She was still excited, though, even if she was wrong about being able to smell warmth.
Large blue eyes found the pair of unusual guests near the edge of the room, spaced much further away from the others than she herself was. There was a weird blue creature with a russet-coloured shell on his back, and little white feathery things on his head. She'd never seen him before, but he seemed quite cheerful and relaxed. A little, brown-furred Pokemon sat on his shell, her tiny paws clinging to his feathered ears as she looked around. She seemed quite cute, but hopefully she was just as friendly. Eager to find herself a new playmate, and to explore the room of delicious smells, she bounced forward to greet them.
As she ran, she tripped ( as usual ) over her lengthly striped scarf, tumbling end over end. Her eyes went wide with surprise, her ears twitching downward with embarrassment as she found herself lying flat on her belly, her bum sticking up in the air as a sign of her failed attempt to catch herself. Almost used to the situation, by now, she rolled herself back up and onto her butt, sitting upright on the plastic-covered floor with tears brimming in her sad little eyes. Normally Kai or Azzie would kiss her forehead, and help her up, but she wasn't quite used to being far from their side. She would have to pretend, she supposed. She knew what they would say, anyway, if they were here.
She blinked herself back into reality, staring upward instead at the Sentret and her companion. She wasn't quite sure what she was, or if she would play with her, but she had to try, right? Her friend might want to play, too, though he seemed kind of old to play hide-and-go-seek. She'd ask him, too, because Kaiyou had told her that it wasn't nice to leave people out. She picked herself up off the ground, and scampered nervously to tap Steven's leg, looking upward. "Hello? Mister? Would you like to play with me?" she piped up, her voice childish and hopeful. She didn't want to play tag; she always tripped on her scarf and lost, when they played tag.
