It is HAILING AND SNOWING!

Snow:
- ICE ROAD RUNNER, SNOW DASH, and THE WATER LAKE all now grant one extra save (unless you run out of HP, in which case its GAME OVER)

Hail:
- Ouch! You must now calculate HP DAMAGE while completing every course. Every time you roll a turn, you take -5 damage (taken from your student's total HP amount fully recovered). If you hit 0 HP, your student dissipates with however many flags they recovered! YOU MUST CALCULATE YOUR STUDENT'S HP EVERY TURN, if there is a course that uses HP, the DAMAGE STACKS WITH THIS ONE.

NEXT STATUS EFFECT WILL BE MARCH 17th @ 11:59 PM PST

Taryn raised her hand to guard her eyes from the rain, her chest heaving. Why was it she only ever wore skirts again? Glasses definitely weren't the best choice for today either. Oh well. They had to take what was given.

"There's no time to think!" she yelled against the howling wind, "Everyone pick a course and run it! We'll meet back here when we're finished!" Could her team even hear her? Honestly, with her hair whipping her face and the wind biting her bare arms, she didn't feel all that much like a leader.

Alexander had mixed feelings about this next set of trials. They were told that they would be running different obstacle courses, with all different elements. He knew that if there was a fire course he would be completely jacked, but figured he could probably handle anything else.

More then that though, he was worried about his other team mates, and what they may or may not be able to handle. One team mate in particular whom he knew would not do well if he was forced to struggle through something cold.

Sort of like this blasted wind, threatening to blow the zomboil off of his feet, or the rain pelting against him, soaking down his hair, his clothes...

Well, it was better then a hot day on the beach, at least?

He could hear Taryn's words, but only barely, as he raised an arm to block the rain from getting in his eyes, though it was already running down his face from his hair. He nodded at her in agreement, and then turned to Yin, leaning in close and almost shouting to be heard. "Good luck!"He gave the weremantis a large, reassuring smile. More to let the weremantis know that Alex himself would probably be okay, and not to worry too much.

Alex was probably going to do enough worrying for the both of them.

Wind, rain, overcast-nes . . . Certainly a very different atmosphere than last time. Hopefully if he got too thoroughly soaked the sand would go away - only Mort's problem was that the self-shocking was increasing in frequency. Not good.

The wind was howling and he could barely hear the others, but the intention was easy enough to figure out: Taryn giving a short confidence boosting speech, Alex and Yin doing their thang, Chuppi's continued faith in the team. The rain was blinding, though, and with many twitches Mort managed to shout over the wind, "Good luck all!" before turning to find a course. The blasted weather was bugging him, however, and as he trudged forward all he could think was "need shelter, need shelter, need to be able to see".

Thus, when he saw the cave with an inviting glow, it looked innocuous enough. However, Mort soon found to his horror that the glow came from a long path of hot coals, from a cavern that smelled of smoke and charred flesh and Jack only knew what else.

It appeared this boil had gone from the frying pan to the oven.

After seeing that her team has not been totally separated in the storm, the ghoul ran off with a persistent clip-clop. Looming before her was a great cave entrance, and the moment's pause to consider her future obstacles earned her a nudge closer. With a nod, she entered and took her time to look around. It was an average natural occurrence, a somewhat narrow opening with a bit of moisture, a green smudge of--

What.

There was a grinding, and the entire passage was enveloped in pitch blackness. Chimera's night-vision wasn't particularly terrible, but it wasn't the greatest either. Taryn squinted and put one hand out in front of her, the other against the damp, cold wall to her left.

[[ Sorry, guys. I won't get much time to post tomorrow before the twenty-four hour mark, so assume Taryn waited for the entire team to check in before running off. <3

Unfortunately, Taryn didn't have much feeling in her hooves. They were hooves, after all. All it took was one misplaced step, and she was heaved over the edge of a crevasse. She didn't even have time to scream before she was impaled and dissipated.

What a leader.

Running and climbing and doing things like that? Chuppi was pretty confident in her ability to get moving, she was a monster and one who liked to be physical at that, so when it came time to draw lots and go out to run a course the chupacabra didn't feel so bad. Her lot, from the looks of it, happened to be a grass field.

A grass field where it was very, very windy. Turning to look at her companions she smiled as brightly as she could, moving her small hands into fists to show she was determined to succeed. "I will find us flags! We can do this, I will not fail us!"

With that she ran off towards her own area, hoping that everything would go okay.

The field was a lot more windy than Chuppi had originally thought and the monster sneezed as it brushed past her, the rain not helping at all. Sneezing again she pulled at the skull pin on her dress, shifting out of her horrible false form into one she felt more comfortable with. It would be in her best interest to run as her natural self, it was so much easier and she had better skills to do so, and with that Chuppi surveyed everything and kept her eyes out for the flags.

She did not want to let anyone down, not this time. They would be counting on her and she was determined to show them all that it could be done!

It started out easy enough, with the monster running into the field and looking here and there for everything. It didn't look as though there were traps on the ground for her to worry over or anything waiting to attack. Chuppi quickly jumped side to side as she ran against the wind, all four legs on the ground, though it seemed she misjudged her step and somehow went from a solid field into something....moist?

Was this a bog? Those weird howls were getting louder and getting closer, though Chuppi wasn't sure what it was, and she hunkered herself down in the muck with a desire to go slower. She needed to get to that flag but she didn't know where she was, it was making her nervous.

Just what were those howls? Would another student come and attack her like this?

Her pace was slow and steady as she continued through the mire, each of her legs pulling themselves out as best they could in an effort not to get stuck. Chuppi didn't like that the howls kept getting closer and closer, in fact it was making her so nervous she nearly freaked out, and the monster paused to look around in hopes that she was hallucinating.

She wasn't, for at that moment something large and black came flying at her. A startled shriek escaped from her mouth as the chupacabra attempted to leap out of the way, her movements slowed and her legs hampered down by the murky waters, and several sharp claws raked themselves across her back before whatever it was darted off into the distance.

"Uuewwhh...." A hiccup escaped her mouth as she did her best not to cry, her jump having taken her right next to the flag. She was also out of the muck, a truly good win/win, but the stinging pain on her back was a reminder that these indeed were trials and she was not safe here. Gathering the flag into her claws she set off on three legs, jumping each spot rather than attempting to walk it.

One flag was good, but Chuppi wanted to make sure they all had more!

The stinging in her back was letting up the more she moved, her nerves and overall adrenaline carrying her forward, and Chuppi moved through the course with as much grace and bravery as she could muster. Being in her natural form did afford her a certain amount of fearlessness, she was much larger in terms of girth and therefore was stronger than when in that false form, and her quills stood out more in a finer display of ferocity. Overall she would have looked quite dangerous if her eyes weren't watering and her nose wasn't running.

Not crying was the best she could do right now as it got darker and the strange sound of hissing started to come in. Hissing was nothing new to Chuppi, her family hissed (she did too), but after whatever had been howling came to attack her she wasn't taking any chances. The flag was placed into her mouth and she dropped back onto all fours, her speed picking itself up as she navigated through the massive stalks. There was no way she was going to let the creatures catch her, no way she was going to get hurt any more.

It was with that rush in mind and the urging of the hisses that Chuppi barreled out of the area, her quills snatching a flag in the process. If it hadn't been for the strange sensation against her flesh she wouldn't have even known it was there and, now that she was out of the hissing and somewhat safe, the monster paused and sat back on her haunches. She pulled the flag off and stuck it into her mouth, pushing back onto all fours, and she started in a rather brisk trot towards what she hoped to be the finish line. Everything was going okay, she wasn't too badly hurt, and two flags were in her possession. Chuppi was going to make her team proud, she just had to.

Was she almost there? Chuppi wasn't even stopping to pay attention anymore, her clawed hands and feet pounding against the ground as she ran, and if it wasn't for the sound of something hissing to catch her attention she likely never would have looked around. The hiss was loud, dangerous, and it caused the chupacabra to stop dead in her tracks as a massive snake slithered out in front of her. Another one followed, then another, and Chuppi shrieked, dropping the flags, as they seemed to swarm around her. Without thinking twice she bent down to grab the flags again and took off in another run, now and then supplementing her pace with a strong jump.

It didn't matter though, snakes were there no matter how hard she was moving, and the moment two of her legs set themselves on the ground she was bitten by sharp and cruel fangs. They sank into her flesh, thankfully dry bites that would cause nothing more than pain, and the monster roared as she shook the attacked limbs with the intent of getting the reptiles off.

Another came to bite, then another, and soon the ground was swarming with them again and Chuppi decided to stop trying to shake them free and instead just run as fast as she could. Her wounds would bleed, yes, but she was almost done - she could see the light of the exit!

Alexander was yelling his wishes for luck at him, and well, luck had nothing to do with it. Probably. Then again with Amityville and the Clans...yes, he probably needed all the luck he could get. But that did not mean that he would just leave his bonded to make his way through the downpour all by himself. He trudged through the wind alongside him, trying to think about the courses. Obstacles of specific elements sounded...well interesting really. So long as he did not get a frozen one.

Then they arrived at Alexander's course. The weremantis backed away as the wind blew a gust of cold air at him. Yeah, he was definitely glad he was not taking this course. For a brief moment he reached out and touched the zomboil's arm to get his attention (rather than trying to shout) and smiled encouragingly before shivering and moving away as quickly as possible. Had someone mentioned a jungle? Trees were in jungles (or so he thought), and he had not heard anything about jungles being cold.

She made it to the end, her legs dripping with blood and her gait showing her limping on more than one limb. The scratches on Chuppi's back were ignored in favor of the pain of the snake bites, their fangs having torn into her flesh enough to remind the chupacabra why she hated them to begin with (she would go back and eat them one day).

But...she was at the end, out of the grass, and a final flag loomed before her. There were supposed to be four on the course, she missed one of them during her movements, but having three out of the four was nothing to be ashamed of. The monster pulled the dress and her pin back out from the bag she'd been told to carry, having forgotten about it too in all the chaos, and she slowly shifted back into the false human form in order to wait for the others.

Chuppi looked horrible, all scratched up and bitten, but she had three flags now. Would the others be proud of her for finishing?

Alex hadn't expected Yin to walk him to his course, but it was a pleasant surprise. But then they got to the course itself, and Alex grimaced.

Well, at least he was the one getting the snow, and not Yin. He could be comforted by that thought alone. He glanced over towards the weremantis after he touched his arm, receiving and encouraging smile and trying to supply one back, even if the last thing he felt like doing right now was smiling. He gave the other boil a small wave of his hand, and began to make his way into the course.

The wind buffeted against him harshly, but he managed to stand his ground, even as the cold chill of snow blew up into his face and stung at his eyes.
