While Xiu had been rather nervous to see what the next trial consisted of, she had woken up that day in a rather positive mood. Okay, so their sandcastle had...er, run into some minor bumps along the end of the trial, but it was fine, right? They would just have to win those points back in the next trial!
Of course, her happy mood only lasted so long when she realized that it was raining today, and there was a ridiculous strong wind to boot. The baku's brows knit together in concern as she promptly opened up an umbrella that she had brought just in case. However, while she had anticipated rain, she had not been expecting the wind. She had to curl her fingers tightly around her umbrella handle to prevent it from flying off.
But regardless of the weather, there was no backing out of the trials. Changing into something a little more appropriate for the weather, Xiu shouldered her backpack. She smiled at her Lepus Guide, amused at the fact that only its ears were poking out as it listed off a variety of random and useless facts. Sure, it was endearing now, but how long would that last?
But enough of that--it was time to start soon. Taking a deep breath, Xiu went to get ready.

((Gonna choose the Jungle Course))
This challenge was going to be even more troublesome than the last. Already Titus was soaked to the bone with the wind blowing through his clothes giving him a slight chill. He hated it, that's why his previous place of residence skipped all the shitty seasons. Who wanted to deal with this? And they were making them all stand here to get their picture taken. The nerve. As a bonus the demon made an effort to flip the bird at the camera as it swept by hoping to show his displeasure.
To add to his already delightful experience Titus had been graced with a backpack, inside being a Lepus Guide. The little creature kept popping its head out at the most inopportune times.
"Did you know that its wet out here?" The little creature asked hoping to be helpful. "Did you know you should have brought an umbrella?"
At least they were finally issued to their courses but Titus was by no means feeling up to it. Shivering he let out a sneeze rubbing at this nose before heading to the closest course. "Stupid rain."
"Did you know you're probably going to get sick?" The Lepus asked looking over Titus' shoulder. OuO "Did you know that -"
"Did you know that I was going to bash in your skull before the course was over?"
"Did you know that the rain makes you grumpy?" The lepus asked with a frown before retreating back into the backpack.
Titus grumbled, he didn't care.

As Titus stepped up to the course the wind started to pick up rather bad and for a moment he thought he was going to be blown away before this thing even started. Frowning he brought a hand up to shield his eyes from the onslaught of rain to see what was ahead of him.
"Did you know that odontophobia is the fear of teeth.." Came the muffled voice from his backpack.
"Oh Jack...already I hate you. I wonder if Lepus tastes any good. From now on your name is Emergency Food Supply."
"Did you know that Lepus' no not in fact taste good? Very gamy."
"I'm sure you're just saying that to save your hide."
"Did you know that I never just say anything for the sake of saying it? Also, did you know that karoke means "empty orchestra" in Japanese."
Titus was currently hating life something fierce right now.

Ice Road Runner
First up was the Ice Road Runner, and it looked...well, daunting, to say the least. Xiu lifted a hand as she took a few steps forward, cringing at the wind that seemed intent on blowing her back. This was her first obstacle? In a way, she was thankful that she was small and light--those cracks on the ice did not look the least bit reassuring--but on the other hand, the strength of the wind probably had a great effect on her than on someone larger.
Gingerly, she began to make her way forward, one hand pressed against the wall to serve as support while the other was clutched to her chest. She resisted the wind as best as she could, telling herself softly that it was better to be careful in this particular obstacle than to attempt to rush on ahead.
She would have missed the first red flag had it not been for her Lepus Guide, who chose that precise moment to poke his head out and go, "Did you know that you need that to win?" before pointing to the flag and disappearing back into the backpack.
Reaching out, Xiu grabbed the flag, clutching it tightly in her hand before continuing on.

Ice Road Runner
The gust of wind that decided to assault her was sudden and unpleasant, and it earned a panicked yelp from the ghoul as she felt her feet slide back against the ice. Still, somehow, she had managed to hang on, using the wall to steady herself.
P-phew. Moving on...

Jungle Course
The weather sucked. There was no other way to describe it. Titus' only hope was to find these stupid flags quickly and gtfo. As he began to make his way through the jungle he could still hear the muffled sounds of his Lepus rattling off useless information from the backpack and the rain and wind thundering overhead.
"Did you know that when you die your hair still grows for a couple of months?"
"Did you know the king of hearts is the only king without a mustache?"
"Sweet Sally would you SHUT UP!" Apparently Titus's loud booming voice had caught the attention of some humans close by. He continued to make noise until they got scared and ran off. Well, at least there was that much going for him. Why the jack were they out here anyway?
The longer Titus walked though the further it seemed he was getting from any sort of trail. The brush around him was becoming thick and he could barely walk without being hindered.
"Did you know that you might be lost?"
"I was pretty sure I already gave you instruction."
"Did you know I don't care to listen?" OuO The Lepus peeked its head out then to have a look at the demon. Though at that point a noise in the jungle caught its attention. Looking off in the distance the Lepus' smile fell. "Did you know....you might want to think about running?"
"That I should what..?" But by that time Titus heard it too. Something was coming toward him. Something big and it was coming fast. Picking up his pace the demon forced his way through the brush until he finally came upon some kind of trail and..oh look. A flag! Grabbing it the demon shoved it back making the little Lepus take it. He had to be useful for something right?
"Did you know its hard work being your guide?" The Lepus complained draping over the demon's shoulder as if carrying the flag was already exhausting.

Ice Road Runner
Xiu continued on slowly, a little sigh of relief leaving her lips as she managed to make her way towards a smooth wall of ice. She paused there for a moment, her legs quivering beneath her as she focused on maintaining her balance.
The Lepus Guide oh-so-helpfully popped up from her bag to ask if she knew that this was a competition, and that she had better hurry up. Sighing, the baku pressed her lips together before she slowly began to shuffle forward away.

Ice Road Runner
One wrong step.
That was all it took to send the baku falling to the ground, and as two additional kicks to the face, the wind sent her all the way back to the starting point while tearing the single flag she had obtained out of her hand.
Cringing, Xiu remained sitting for a few moments before she slowly pushed herself back to her feet. Well...time to go again.

Time to do this again. Slowly, Xiu made her way through the path again. This time, she was particularly careful to pay attention to both her surroundings, as well as her feet. Noting that there was a flag right in front of her, she reached out and closed her fingers around it, clutching it to her chest.

Another few minutes in, another flag. Taking both flags, Xiu passed them back to her Lepus Guide, a small smile quirking on her lips as the mini took them from her and waved them enthusiastically in the air. How cute! Was he trying to cheer her on?
Or maybe he was just threatening her with what would happen if he let go.

Xiu was...really beginning to wish that she had gotten another obstacle. Another slip, another trip back to the start, and another two flags lost.
She just hoped that the Lepus didn't let go of them on purpose.

The baku had to pause a few steps into the course to lift her free hand and shield her face, cringing as a particularly strong gust of wind pelted ice crystals right after. Small as they were, the crystals definitely hurt quite a bit.

Suddenly snowball.
Xiu flinched as the ice-cold substance hit her in the face, staggering backwards and nearly loosing her balance as she tried to process what just happened. Wiping off her face with her sleeve, she shivered, eyes wide. Was there someone else in here right now? Geez, why would they do such a thing?
