It was the first assignment she'd received since her promotion, and unsurprisingly, Reine was nervous. Extremely nervous. Part of her recalled Sandy and Barney's death, and she knew that, if full hunters could.. die, so easily, the danger level was arguably higher for an intermediate trainee. She'd made sure to read and re-read the mission briefing, noting all the details and making a checklist of things to do, before even considering picking her team.
With the knowledge that she could possibly not come back here, Reine packed her room up a little neater, and in the process, decided that she wasn't going to bring along anyone she was close to. Just in case.
..Yeah, definitely not Justin. Flipping her phone open, Reine closed her eyes, and picked out two random trainees to take with her. One William Reid, and.. oh, Jason. She remembered him. With the messages sent, Reine picked up the bag she'd packed, more for show than anything, considering they hadn't provided her with supplies, and made her way to the training fields to wait for her team.
She might have tried to give herself a pep talk or two on the way. Come 10.30AM, the two trainees would find a nervous wreck waiting for them. poke mattix meet 10.30AM @ training fields for mission briefing Baneful meet 10.30AM @ training fields for mission briefing MISSION MECHANICS * MECHANICS: RP assembling a team, as necessary, before heading towards the Lighthouse portal to request a portal to Survey Mission 3A. Once there, roll a 100-sided dice and match the roleplay to the results below, as well as any reactions. Players can continue rolling until any of the players roll a HALLOWEEN ENCOUNTER, in which case the BATTLE PHASE begins. See below for battle phase mechanics. 1- 20: You and your group have snuck into the theme park after hours, but you don't see anything out of the ordinary. 21 - 40: You notice that even though the rides and displays should have been turned off, there is the strange echo of music, and odd flickering lights from the corner of your eyes. 41 - 60: You stumble for a second, as if someone, one of your teammates have shoved you, but when you look around, you notice that there is noone else in sight. 61 - 80: You noticed engraved onto a display next to you an odd symbol, a strange spiral that rotates backwards in a hooked arc. 81- 100: BOSS ENCOUNTER: - In the darkness, it seems easier to spot the poltergeist, though its form occasionally flickers in and out. It realizes that your team is by far friendly, and begans to throw various objects at you. - BOSS MECHANICS: This boss has 50 HP. Every time you attack it (following the general battle rules), you TAKE 8 damage. Make sure to tally the boss's total HP (the damage you did to it) at the bottom of your post as well as your total HP and the damage you did that round. If the boss's HP hits 0, you have defeated it, and your team can now take the portal back. The poltergeist reveals at the very end that these children have already been taken.

Boredom was always a very real issue for Rep on the island, of course, that was completely offset by the fact that the alternative to boredom involved playing russian roulette with lady luck. Missions were dangerous, he was more than aware of that, but in their favour, they beat laying on his bed letting often fairly dismal thoughts run round and round his head.
So when he received the text reguarding the mission, Rep found he was at the same time relieved and concerned. But he wasn't about to argue either, a mission was a mission, he just had to deal with it.
And of course, as always it had to start first thing in the ******** morning. Setting his phone alarm, it was still exceedingly hard for him to get out of bed in the morning. It was only by some miracle he was presentable and on his way to the meet up point on time. He still barely felt awake by the time he got there, giving Reine a critical look, another woman. He managed to hold his tongue however, simply nodding in greeting.
"Sup? This the mission group?"

The morning of the mission, had Jason waking up in a cold sweat, taking in huge lung-fulls of air as he realized that he was back in his dorm room, not staring down those horrible, red eyes...
He had not been well since the last mission. Mentally speaking, at least. There had been no time for him to adjust being on the island when he had been thrown head first into not one, but two missions. The second one ended up with two of the Hunters being killed. He had known there would always be a risk of people dying, and he had not known the hunters involved, but still....
After he spent some time preparing for the mission, getting dressed and the such, he made his way to the training grounds, and was surprised to see Reine there. He hadn't realized she could lead missions, but more then that, she looked very much worse for wear. Usually it was him looking like a nervous wreck, not the other way around.
"H...hello Reine, and, um..." He paused as he looked at the other hunter. The first word coming to him was buff. With his well muscled body and long red hair, he half expected him to yell out a battle cry and ride off on a horse into war. Either that or beat him up, he wasn't sure.

She was almost afraid no one would show up, pacing around the training fields as she waited for them. Why had she come this early, again, maybe it would have been better if she'd just strode in impressively like Caelius did, right at the last minute.
Well, Caelius could afford to be Caelius. Reine's heart lifted slightly when she saw someone approaching, a big-sized guy. If she was lucky, he wouldn't be too much like Robert, ie. someone she could actually count on.
"Yeah," she nodded, trying to keep cool. "William, I presume?" She did, after all, remember what Jason looked like. Then again, it was completely possible that he was meeting up with another group, or just here for.. for something else, oh god was this going to work out even was it?!
Jason's timely appearance 'saved' her, and she breathed a small sigh of relief that even if the big guy wasn't William, she did have one team member here with her. And well, they could always use another extra person, right? The more the merrier. Reine took a deep breath, regarding the two trainees. She probably didn't look anything close to leader-like at the moment, but the presence of the other two trainees, oddly, calmed her down a little.
"Alright." She gestured to them, nodding to Jason by way of greeting. "We're headed to.. Singapore, specifically, Universal Studios. Yeah, the theme park. Sounds like fun?"
The look on her face hinted that they really shouldn't say 'yes' to that.
"Our aim is to investigate disappearances, specifically, kids reported missing, after visiting the attraction. And also to dispose of whatever's causing the disappearances. All clear?"

He looked Jason over rather critically when the other man arrived, but seemed, on first glance to deem him worthy of /not/ being insulted or subtly derided. He didn't seem too outside Rep's definitions of manly, so he'd certainly do just fine.
As Reine answered Jason's unspoken question, Rep nodded with an affirmative grunt. "Aye. Call me Rep though." William was always much too formal, and always one step away from the dreaded nickname that was Willy. He most certainly wasn't a Willy.
At least, this woman looked like she knew what she was doing, if just a /little/ nervous. He didn't fancy going on a mission with a /typical/ woman with all their distractions. Though he had to keep a lid on his opinions in general, the image of the swift and painful end Simon could bring him to was still very clear in his mind.
This train of thought was derailed at the news of their destination, raising a brow immediately, seemed like this was another mission in the vein of the one to Disneyland. That was unsettling, it meant there had to be children going missing elsewhere in the world to. He had no idea to what end they were going and could only really hope that this lead proved somehow to be a dud. " Gottit." He nodded.

"Ah. Rep it is then" Jason nodded, committing the name to memory. Though noting the mans stern gaze, he tried not to look timid and act as nonchalantly as possible. In which he probably failed. He decided to focus more on their 'leader' whom had appeared to clam down, if only a little.
He then listened to the mission debriefing, their destination catching him off guard. Universal studios? In Singapore? His expression darkened when she mentioned what they were investigating.
"Children..." He mumbled, looking the other way in thought. He had spent so much time worrying about himself, that he did not realize....He almost felt sick. Kids had gone missing? Questions went buzzing through his brain, though he dared not ask them. He looked back at Reine, a faint hint of determination on his face. "Understood."

"Rep," Reine nodded. "Well, nice to meet you." Okay mission mission mission. She was glad they seemed to get it, just from her explanations, this would make things significantly easier. And after the last trainee-only external mission she'd gone on, that one to some rural part of China, Reine had made sure to take note of any precautions she could. That included actually telling people what they were going to do...
And.. oh. Well, that other thing.
"Fair warning," she said, as she turned, walking towards the lighthouse. "I don't know if they speak English there, assuming there are even going to be people there. Either way, hopefully it'll be quick and painless, just rescue the kids, eliminate the threat, and we'll head back to the island."
On the bright side, they weren't asking her if they could go on the rides. Unlike Robert on that Vegas mission. That was a good start.. right? Stepping through the portal at the lighthouse, the three trainees would find themselves at some part of the theme park, near a huge roller coaster. It was after hours, and save for the dim light of a half-moon, there was barely any other source of illumination. A chill wind blew leaves across the floor, leaving Reine with a rather eerie sense of foreboding.
Well then.
Step one, procure a map somehow. Step two.... she didn't think they should risk splitting up, in case whatever the threat was couldn't be handled by a single person- and that was likely, considering the fact that they'd needed to go as a group.
And then-- there was a creak, from somewhere behind them. The faintest echoes of music started playing, though the sound seemed vaguely distorted. Coloured lights started flashing on and off, but she could only catch the movement out of the corner of her eye- it seemed like whenever she turned to look at the lights, they'd flicker off again, and a different section would light up..
This place was starting to get just a little bit beyond creepy.

Rep at least wasn't phased by the idea that the natives might not speak English, he'd found through general experience that in a pinch that most people could be made to understand the universal language of threatening gestures.
He was very quietly hoping it'd be open this time and they could actually get a chance to ride on the rides, maybe buy some sweets..a few drinks. But his hopes were dashed as they proceeded through the portal and he was met with the sight of a theme park that was completely deactivated, the lights on the rides apparently off and all the vendors tightly closed up for the night. It was always ******** the way.
<< Yes ******** /nanny/ >> he snarled back at the angel. He was right though.
It was still unnerving inside the park, there was something unsettling about places that normally bustled with life but were left hollow and empty, like a huge ransacked corpse with the pulse gone. He hadn't liked it in Disney, he liked it even less here. At least in Disney he hadn't had much room to appreciate the weirdness of it all. As Reine seemed to startle slightly at something he too became acutely aware of distant music.
It sounded horribly familiar. Devoid of clear words and faint it made his stomach twist.
He noticed that near them one of the rides had its entryway lights on. Or did until he looked at it. Only for the whole thing to flicker off again. It was having its intended effect, setting his nerves completely on edge. He wanted to summon Tracey right then and there but knew of the dangers of being spotted with weapon summoned unnecessarily.
"Something wrong with the ******** electrics?" he asked almost hopefully.

Following the two through the portal to the theme park, Jason visibly paled at the sight. Instead of finding a jubilant place filling with laughing kids, he found it was after hours, with not a single person there besides themselves. Time zones suck.
Yes. He was right, he couldn't forget about them. With a steady breath he walked further into the park, eyes darting about looking for signs of the kids. Or whatever took them. He grimaced; how scared must the kids be in a place like this? Taken by who knows what. And that was if they were even alive....

A scareling? What a odd sounding name. As he thought about it, he felt something push him forwards, and he was send stumbling. Righting himself, he turned around expecting to see Reine or Rep there, but they were somewhere else.
...gulp.

Reine started when she heard a sound, immediately summoning her weapon and swiveling around to face the-- oh. Rep. Breathing, she lowered her weapon, though he might have caught a mild annoyance in her expression as she walked closer towards him. It wasn't his fault, he hadn't done anything wrong- Reine was just a little more high-strung than usual, and it wasn't reflecting well in her behavior.
"We'd be lucky if that was just some kind of malfunction. And.. " Reine trailed off, surveying the surroundings again. "Seen Jason anywhere?" It was possible that he'd ditched them, and had stayed behind on the island.. but it was also possible that he'd gotten lost somehow, and with an unknown threat lurking, that was... that was dangerous.
"We need to go look for him," she said, decisively. "Follow me, and keep close."

..."Reine....Rep?" Jason called out, feeling a little panicky now that he couldn't locate the other trainees. He thought he heard a noise in the background, as if one of the rides were starting up, but he couldn't tell.
Again, he was suddenly pushed, but when he turned around, no one was there.

"Guys?" Jason called out again, this time a little more frantic. "Where are you? Give me a signal!" He increased his pace into a light job, trying to find out what was going on. The place was almost deserted, how come he couldn't locate his team-
"UGH!" He called out as he fell over, once again. "Okay, Seriously, who the hell is doing th-"
He had spun around, ready to tell off whomever had been tripping him, but the words never came. Instead, he froze in place as he stared down what he assumed to be was the whole cause for this mess.
It was hard to see any distinctive qualities of the poltergeist, as his form faded in and out frequently, but what he could see from the wispy ghost was enough to make him want to wet himself. His eyes bulged, and he stumbled backwards, falling over himself. He sat there, shaking as the ghost floated closer to him.
AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
and then it threw a plushie at him.
