Margarita hadn't been sticking around Nix and Endymion for too long of a period of time, but she had already been able to see more in her short time with them than she had hoped to. The world was just full of the utterly strange, and she couldn't seem to get enough of discovering it all!

So it came as no surprise that the grimer found herself wandering off on her own again, led by her curiosity that was driven by a maniac with questions. Or something to that effect. She had seen some of this giant broccoli growing out of the ground in the distance, but was only now close enough to investigate -- so investigate is what she was planning to do!

She was not, however, planning on getting encased in a fallen, dead broccoli like this. Not fun. She nudged the wall of the log with her head, but it didn't seem to want to budge. Her hand was stuck in a knothole that was just large enough to put the limb through, but apparently not to pull it back out of. She wiggled her fingers, as though she were convinced it would do something if she kept it up.

While it was nice that the forest didn't run from the stench that radiated from her skin, it may have been nice for it to in this case. <<Heeeelp, I've been eaten by a zombie-broccoli!>> she called, in grimer-speech. There was no way of knowing if anyone was brave enough to take one step in here while she occupied a section of it.

Leith was not smart. Leith did not know a lot of things. Leith, in fact, did not even know how to use his God-given gills, despite having had them his entire life. However, despite his typical obliviousness, he was well aware of how to close off his nostrils, having spent a good portion of his life in water. It was that talent combined with his limitless curiosity that had him following the yelling, despite the smell, which he sealed away without problem.

Dark eyes came upon the forest warily, as his other experiences with dark, wooded areas had ended rather poorly. Purple fingertips prodded at the bag wrapped around his torso, reminding him that only two of his six water bottles held anything, and one of them was already half-empty. Really, he didn't have enough to be risking his nagging curiosity, but he was never one to listen to reason, and proceeded in the same direction, creeping around the trees and following the voice.

The biggest thing that the boy was curious about, though, was what creature it was that produced such a smell. He'd never met anything that stunk so profusely! Then again, perhaps it had never known a bath or a proper caretaker or, worse-yet, he was stumbling toward a corpse and some helpless creature beside it. Pulling a face at the thought, he hurried on his way, finding himself stumped when he came upon a log within an otherwise uninteresting clearing. Nothing else. The voice was coming from this area, certainly - he could hear that whenever it hit the air again, but where was it coming from?

"Hello...?!" he called out into the world, a frown on his face. "I believe I am here to rescue you, but I can't say that I'm quite sure where you are...!"

Margarita was considerably surprised to hear someone calling back at her, after hearing her cry for attention, despite the smell she produced. While she was aware that next to nobody else could ignore her stench quite as well as Nix could when he had literally stumbled across her, she didn't think anyone would even attempt to brave the smell to respond to her. After all, she was fairly certain that anybody in the vicinity would be faced with the rank smell before ever catching notion of her voice, which only proved to heighten her own curiosity as to who this strange fellow was that was so... adventurous.

<<I'm over heeeere, mister!>> she called again, even louder. She tried to wave her arm, but it was only her hand and wrist that were freed from the log's confines. She wiggled her fingers and flapped her hand to get attention, but she didn't know if it was all that visible from outside her encasement.

Hitting her gooey head on the side of the inside of the log, she considered that maybe if she could wiggle it slightly, it would be more noticeable. Unfortunately, with her body inside and making such a disturbance, it managed to unlock the dried log from its resting place, and she began rolling much further than anticipated. <<Oh... oh snap!>> she gasped. Luckily for her, the knothole jutted out just far enough to halt the log from rolling too much further, but Margarita found that she was now on her head. Dizzy, she called out, <<Ca... Can you find me now..?>> Maybe it would have been more fun had she more control... Eh, who was she kidding? It was still pretty fun!

Most people would laugh at the melodramatic way that Leith looked around the clearing, peering in all directions with one hand held flat against his forehead to shield them from the sun. He looked high and low, assuming all sorts of poses that more appropriately befit a pirate captain, and jumped at the reply that came from the one he was searching for. Black eyes glanced about the forest-y area, tail fin twitching just slightly.

"I'm afraid that I can't see you, Miss! Could you perhaps... toss something in the air or shake something that happens to be near you!" he called, not noticing the movement of the log in it's first few moments. When it began to crack twigs and rustle the leaves, his attention was finally grabbed, and he gasped. Concern for the unknown miss riding high, he moved with intent to stop the log's rolling. Unfortunately, he mistook his coordination once again, slipping and losing the contents of his bag during the trip, coming to rest at the same place as the log.

Quietly, the Mudkip groaned, pulling his eyes open and looking about, wherein he found that he was on his back, much like the creature he was searching for. Had he been in a position that was easier to jump out of, he would have jumped when the voice came from above his head, and he noticed what appeared to be nothing more than a sticky, purple pile of gunk. It was only after a few more seconds of staring that he realized that the pile... was a Poke'mon! The boy's eyes widened and he rolled over, sticking his head beyond the threshold of the log, a broad grin on his face. "I do believe that I just did find you, milady!"

Her head still portrayed to her eyes that she were defying all logic in her placement as she heard the shiny mudkip call over to her. It seemed almost as though her eyes were rolling around of their own accord in her head, without any of her control on the matter. It was slightly irritating, to say the least, but at least it still made it look like she continued to roll down a shallow hill. "Whee-hee," she murmured; the slight giggle she inflected in her voice was drowned out by the obvious dizziness, however.

The grimer shut her eyes tight and shook her head lightly, as though to shake the feeling. When she opened her eyes, Margarita thought she had done more harm than good with the action, as now her savior seemed to be on the ceiling! Poking her vision out to see the spectacle, she mused, "Woooow, how'd you get on the roof like that?"

Oh, but wait... she was losing track of the matter-at-hand again, wasn't she? That wasn't good! She could derail the conversation more when she was free, but before that happened, she should attempt to focus! It was probably the single hardest tactic to ask the grimer to do, but she would persevere! She was bull-headed enough to tackle it!

"Hide and seek! You found me!" she chimed, wriggling her arm in the bear trap of a knothole in greeting. "I got stuck when I was trying to look at what was in here. I tried to get out, but I think this hole here is too small, and now it won't stop biting me!" she exclaimed with a pout. At least it didn't hurt.

It didn't seem to register to Margarita that, with her physical makeup, she could easily squeeze out of there by manipulating her goobery mass. She didn't often do it, after all!
