Today she was in motion. The leopardess had no real destination in mind, it was all about the journey. Or was it just wandering? She had no place to go, no point of origin, just moving along, always moving. And today she was moving faster than usual.

It wasn't because she wanted to exercise, or because she liked this speed or even because she was scared of something. Aggra was frustrated. It seemed to her as if her life was going nowhere. She was always leaving, always going somewhere new, and no one place meant any more to her than any other. She met other creatures as she traveled, but few of them made any real impression and those that did soon faded.

And, most annoying of all, there wasn't a single one who could suit her as her knight in shining armor, to take care of her. Admittedly, she'd scared away the last few by being far more capable than they, but nothing about those males had drawn her in such a way that she could bear to stay rooted in one place. Also not all of them had been leopards. Aggra had nothing against lions or cheetahs, she just didn't want her one true love to be one. Was that really so much to ask?

So here she was, not quite running through the savannah, going from nowhere to nowhere.

Today sucked. So far he hadn't found a single damn thing to hunt and he was starving. It had been a few days since he last ate a big meal and snacking on rabbits was growing old. Rabbits all tasted the same. The big male stalked through the grass with a scowl on his face and looked around. So far, no one was coming or going, it was just him and the sky and wind.

A loud growl escaped from his stomach and his ears flattened at that. Yellow eyes glanced this way and that as he put his nose to the wind. Something caught his attention and made his stomach growl again. He picked up the pace. It smelled like it was just up ahead. Breaking out in a sprint, the lion charged towards whatever it was that smelled so good. Things were starting to look up for him until he saw what it was he was spelling. His nose wrinkled as his dreams of dinner were dashed yet again. Just some leopardess.

Sighing, he shook his head and cleared his throat. Maybe that would get her attention to where he didn't have to talk. He felt so awkward talking to females. Especially when he was going to ask them where the nearest heard of something was.

Green eyes blinked in startlement as a big brown lion with a bright red mane materialized out of the grass. She hadn't even suspected there was anyone so close! Heart racing, Aggra came to a dead stop and looked at the stranger. The leopardess couldn't even begin to guess what he wanted. Conversation? Information? Something more...personal? Looking at him was like looking at a wall.

"Ah, hello there," she offered cautiously.

When she looked at him after he cleared his throat he opened his mouth to say something and then snapped it shut again with a mental groan. Damn it, he had to actually talk to get the information he wanted. Rolling his eyes to himself he cleared his throat again and tried once more.

"....Heard."

Oh, great job. Like she knew what the hell he was talking about with that one word. He tried yet again. "Have you seen a heard of anything anywhere?" That was a bit better. That really broke the ice.

'Heard'? What on earth had he meant by that? Oh, she'd heard of this disease once, where a person's thoughts still made complete sense, but when they tried to speak, all that came out was a single word that seemed like total nonsense unless if you had an idea what the person was thinking of. It seemed incredibly inconvenient to Aggra.

But no, the lion didn't seem to be sick as on his second try he managed to get a real question out. Now if only she had some idea of what he was asking! She'd heard of lots of things in lots of places...she just had no idea what sort of things the stranger wanted to know about.

So... "What?" the leopardess asked.

Nope, no better. He'd phrased the question wrong. Frowning a little more he sighed and rubbed his face with his paw. "I'm looking for a herd of .... anything to eat. I haven't eaten in a few days and I can't find what I'm looking for." It came out in an angry growl, but it wasn't directed at her. He was angry at himself because of how he phrased the question.

"I was wondering if you've seen or heard anything about a herd of...zebra? Something bigger than a rabbit." Once more, his voice sounded angry, but he really didn't mean anything by it.

Aggra blinked in surprise. Was this lion such a poor hunter that he couldn't find his own prey himself? True, she hadn't eaten much larger than a rabbit in several days, but she caught enough of them to keep herself healthy and fed. She wasn't particularly impressed with this male, to say the least.

"I don't honestly remember," she replied simply. "It all fades together in time." Which was the truth. Nor could she actually remember seeing a herd of any real prey-beast lately, but that was because she had a hard time remembering how many days ago and how far away things were. That happened, when you lived your life in motion.

Wow, what a help she was. He should have known better than to as a leopard. They were, apparently, stupider than lions. Rolling his eyes again, the male nodded and got on his paws again before sighing. "Sorry." He started walking again, walking right past her and shook his head. God, not only did he feel stupid, he sounded stupid and she probably thought he was stupid too.

"I'll find them on my own then. You were no help." He didn't mean it in a harsh way, but growing up in the Demon pride.. he had certain habits. Being blunt was one of them. You had to be blunt and fight for basically everything, it felt like.

The leopardess snorted. Well what did he expect, that she'd help him out of the goodness of her heart? She could have, she supposed, but he frankly didn't interest her enough to make it worthwhile.

Aggra thought of a few good rejoinders she could respond with, but decided that silent was her most elegant option. And the brown leopardess did like being elegant.

So, she sniffed and, with her nose in the air like a queen, went on her way.

She didn't think the lion would attack her and, if he was as starved as his questions seemed to indicate, she wasn't particularly worried if he did choose such a foolish action.

He rolled his eyes an watched as she left and then wandered away again, sighing. She was beyond not helpful and this day was just getting worse and worse. Saegitur was probably going to go hungry again and just curl up under some tree out in the open. His mind went to the time he was attacked by a couple of hyena who thought they could fight him. Hyena meat was not something he looked forward to eating again.
