Once more Ammon found himself wandering aimlessly through the rogue lands. His plan of finding his sister had clearly blown up in his face and it had caused him to feel rather dull. Sure he wasn't a good tracker in the least, but at least that had never stopped him from trying? Wistfully the young male lion sighed. The sky above was dark and he could feel little raindrops beginning to pour from the sky. He was sure the creatures that resided here were ecstatic that there would be rain, but the bad thing about rain was that it washed away scents.

"Now I will have to start all over again." Ammon said, slightly frustrated. This had sadly not been the first time something like this had happened to him. He hoped that the Gods, if there, would just give him some sort of tip or sign that he was on the way to finding his sister again. Sadly for him they had kept quiet.

Turning his attention now to a small den in the rock face, he could clearly smell that there was no recent scent. Which meant this lucky guy was going to be able to sleep out of the rain. He couldn't help but grin a little. Finally something was going right. Maybe this was the sign for him not to give up, that the tides were changing? Or just further proof that this male was lucky. Either way he happily strode into the den and began smoothing it's floor so that he could sleep without fear of being impaled by a rock. He shuddered. "That would not be a pleasurable experience." Ammon said to himself as he kicked the last few rocks out and then settled into the back wall. It certainly was a huge den. Quite the find if he said so himself. Smiling the lion closed his eyes, though not sleeping, daydreaming about the luxury of this den and all the things he could do with it.

Unawares of Ammon, Kailayna was also passing through the same area, looking for somewhere to shelter from the coming storm. All her hair stood on end feeling the energy latent in the atmosphere, the air itself seeming to buzz with the potential that had been building and was about to burst loose. Thunder rolled at her back and she pressed forward, a shiver running down her spine and sending her hackles up as the first drop of rain slapped her nose, compelling her to sneeze.

"No no, I do not want to end up soaking out in the open...." in spite of her words, the downpour had already begun behind her, and didn't care what she thought or felt. The weather was the weather, she had no control over it and she knew that, but it didn't mean she had to like it. A hiss escaped her throat and then a whine. She was going to get soaked, nothing to be done about it.

Sure enough, by the time she approached the cave that Ammon had claimed as his den, she was soaked to her bones, and shivering wet. The rain wasn't kind, it wasn't warm. It was cold and so was she, and she was annoyed. Kai didn't notice the recent male scent, the rain having washed it away at the entrance, though as soon as she entered the drier part of what appeared to be a rather large den, her nose lit up with the scent of another lion. An adult male lion, and she stopped. Because if she could smell him, he most certainly could scent her, soaking wet as she was.

Kai paused, wary of the new situation that had presented itself. A rogue male could be a good or a bad thing, it just depended on the male. Hesitantly, she called out. "Hello? I... I'm only seeking shelter from the rain..." She squinted in the dark, barely able to make out a figure at the back of the den. That must be the male. And if she could see him, that meant he could see her, sopping wet and shivering. She wasn't a very imposing sight, she was rather pitiful, actually.

Ammon had raised his head when he heard the sky part and a flood of rain pour down from the heavens. He grinned and sat there as if the rain was the most wonderful thing that could have happened at that very moment. The land was dry and very much needed the rain. Tomorrow when he was ready to begin his journey again he would have no issue finding at least a small place to drink along the way. Then again, he really wasn't a good tracker.

Just as he was about to lay his head back down once more and maybe this time actually fall asleep he felt the sudden presence of another. He knew this to be true by the smell that had suddenly wafted in. Not that it was unpleasant, but the rain seemed to highten the females scent. His orange eyes blinked in the darkness of the cave. His eyes had adjusted rather quickly to the change in light and he could make out the lioness rather well. Despite the fact that she was indeed as black as night, or at least as black as the inside of this cave. He smiled a warm smile just in case she could see him.

"Hello!" He called out in a very friendly and pleasant tone, not at all the signal that he was out to do her harm or be anything other then a friendly face among the sea of lions in these lands. "It's alright, come in out of the rain." Ammon said as he rose to his feet and padded gently over to the lioness. "You're soaked." He stated with a raised eyebrow before shaking his head. "Come on." Ammon smiled once more and put his tail up behind her, though he made sure not to actually touch her as he didn't want to spook the poor lioness and cause her to run back out into the rain. "I've been in here most of the day. So my body heat has kept that area over there warm. You can lay there." Ammon tried to lead her over there quickly. Who knew how long she had been in the rain. He certainly didn't want her to get sick.

Kailayna let out a shudder at the sound of the return voice calling out. She still could make barely anything out in the darkness, but then when the lightening flashed, she could see the other lion, just standing to head towards her. Though his voice had been friendly, she readied herself to flee, just in case. With lions, you never knew whether a rogue would be a friend, competition, or a fight. He didn't sound aggressive, but she wasn't in the best state to defend herself, so Kai thought she ought to be a little more careful than normal. She trusted readily enough, given reason to, but when at a disadvantage, she was often wary for awhile.

"...Thank you." she shivered from the cold rain soaking her pelt, and hoped it didn't make her look weak. The lion was larger than she was, and that always gave her worried pause. Especially in close quarters...

But when he turned around and headed back towards where he must have been laying before - and apparently all day, if his words were to be believed - she felt some relief. "Okay... let me just..." Kai mumbled before shaking herself from nose to tail, throwing off as much water as she could with the action. Having short fur helped because there was less surface for the water to cling to, but at the same time it put her at a disadvantage because she soaked through very easily.

"Thank you for letting me come in out of the rain..." Moving away from the entrance to the cave was a relief. She could already feel the warmth that was coming from where the lion was waiting for her in the back. Hopefully she would dry out quick enough... because while she didn't mind bathing or swimming, Kai hated being soaked due to rain. Somehow it was just different, and not a different that she liked.

"I didn't realize until I came in that there was someone here... I'll go after the rain stops, but thank you for letting me stay until then." she said hopefully.
