A soft wind whistled by, gently pushing up the lolling tips of overgrown grass. A bright sun shone down, a false illusion of warmth on that chilly spring day. Chirping short trills, a small bird burst into the sky, breaking through the sheet of air until the wind swooped underneath its wings and carried it along. Musical notes, almost indistinct at first, followed the bird, gaining strength as the little form accelerated through the air. Strong undercurrents of emotions swelled in the music, too deep for words to reach and draw up in a meaningful way.
With a rustling burst, parting the spongy grass, a slender form dashed along the ground, trailing the bird from below. In the wake of the sprint, the grass gradually sprang back into place, and no sign remained of a figure darting by, save for a melodic, haunting echo that now sounded just as distant as when it had first started out.
As the bird winged sharply to the left, the form beneath it gradually slowed, revealing the outline of a young woman. No longer pushing against the air resistance, the woman instead allowed the wind to whip up from behind her, tossing her long black hair over her shoulder, with wisps streaming across her face. She threw her head back, turning her face to the sun, her eyes closed as long dark lashes curled outwards. Her neck stretched out, until a line could be traced down her throat to the bronzed owl pendant hanging on a long chain, resting on her breast. Rumbling in her chest, the earthy tune rose in the back of her throat and forced its way past her lips, a sound that was humming, yet so much more than that humble word could convey.
The loose skirt of her white, one-shoulder dress blew up against the back of her thighs, wrapping around her legs to reveal golden gladiator sandals on her feet. Winding upwards on her calf, stretching from her ankle to the back of her knee, a fading scar's paleness stood out starkly in the bright sun. Although some would say that it ruined the almost perfect image of spring youth and beauty, at that moment, it seemed irrelevant.
Circling above the woman while slowly descending towards her, the small bird added its high-pitched chirps to her deep song. Her tune followed the bird, and she drew out the last note, winding down the tone with each swoop, as the bird dropped lower and lower. Breathing in deeply the scent of the wild flowers, moist grass, and fertile earth, the woman pushed out a last, powerful note, and the bird flapped its wings down with a forceful push, shooting it back into the air, and it flew away.
Tilting her head back down, the woman's eyelids fluttered open and she stared out at the town that stretched away in front of her.
Although no sound came out, her lips slowly moved, forming a single word that hung in the air, unmoved by the wind and growing in the moment.
"Home."

The sound of a whistle was echoing itself as it interlaced itself within the wind, carrying its tune through the land as the wind continued to flow and fill its breath upon the world. The sun was shining down on many of the earth's creatures and inanimate objects as one particular was looking back at it. A lightly tanned hand was blocking the owner's face as he was looking upward at the bright yellow star. He turned away as a mess of neck-length straight black and purple hair shifted with his head, looking down from a hill as his lips puckered a bit as his lips were dry from being in the wind. His eyes peered around at the surroundings, looking at first a tree, but was quickly interested elsewhere as it looked down at the ground covered in grass.
The person sat on the ground, as he wore black straight jeans with black hiking boots. Protecting him from the weather, was a black overcoat that was open to reveal a purple shirt with no designs visible. The person stretched his arm out as he was reaching to grab an ethereal object, but instead only obtained an empty hand of air as his face became somber. He whistled a light tune as something was bristling through the bushes, as if being called to the individual as a song was being sung for it.
From the bush came an incorporeal wolf that shined a brilliant han purple and obsidian black, a spiritual creature of unknown origin that came to listen to this person's tune. The individual paid no attention to this creature, continuing to whistle as the creature made no sounds as it's glimmering body was coming closer until it was behind the person. The whistling ended as the song was complete, as the person remained looking forward as he merely smiled. The creature dissipated into a glimmering mist as the person stood up as he knew well that the creature was watching him.
He began to move as he tried to resist the wind, but only managed to walk through it with the wind causing his overcoat to make fluttering noises as he walked. He was walking down a pathway as his pupils looked around until he could see something in the distance, an unknown town to him as he looked at the buildings. "I truly am far from where I belong..." The person spoke in a calm tone, having no accent to help indicate his origin of location other than those words. He whistled once more as it comforted him as he closed his eyelids and let his whistling merge with the wind once more as he wanted to blind himself from the world, and indulge himself in his own tune.

Treading lightly, the woman wound her way down the side of the mountain, feeling the grass rustle around her ankles. She glanced back up the hill occasionally, sensing more in the trees and tall grass than she could visibly make out. Breathing in deeply the fresh scent of nature as she reached the final descent, the woman hopped down lightly onto a concrete sidewalk. Furtively looking to her left and right, she made sure that no local had seen her. Not that it would matter. She doubted anyone would recognize her by now. Except one person.
(( NOT DONE YET. ))
