It is the age of "Glorious Gold". The world's materials such as wood and grass is growing small, and most of the planet's surface is barren. There are huge social-status differencies- the poor, the punks/mercenaries, the rich and the royalty. The royalty, members of the "Glorious Gold" world domination regime tramples upon the weak and poor, and the punks, mercs and royalties do battle every day to try and change the world, whether it be economical, warfare or other. Everyday the armies of the punks and world dominees fight - punks for their freedom and rights, royalties for complete domination and the mercs, fighting for coin, glory or blood. Various technological advances have achieved almost off-world tech, sometimes tech that seemingly looks like magic to the un-experienced. Punks make their own tech, while royalty has scientists and tech-labs.
_____________________________________________________SEPARATE POST HERE Rules section 1. As for the "good" and "evil", the RP-ers themselves decide what side their chars will be on. Just keep it above Twilight level in character depth (Or prepare to be paid a visit by my middlemen ) 2. Accepted chars; no Mary Sue's, no overpowered Sasukes or immortal characters. All characters must have a sense of depth and history, as well as a motive (simple motives such as "freedom" or "world domination" is fine, but rather weak unless covered up by a sense behind it.) 3. No magic, chakra or any other illogically apparent powersources. Powers and such in Glorious Gold are induced by Tech, and as such, must have a certain limit to their extent of power. 4. This is Steampunk / sci-fi, not Dragonball or whatever. Let's keep it within reason. And then profile skellies(skeletons) separate post Just copy and paste the stuff there. And post your own profile skelly filled out, with img and everything.

1. Writing Style
Always write in third person, past tense. Try to proofread your work or use a spellcheck, or the grammar Nazis will come and get you!
Three paragraphs is usually a good length, but we won't complain if you write more wink
No one-liners.

2. Characters
Apart from the usual about godmoding and Mary Sues (which still applies), we also encourage more thought to go into each OC. Don't make your characters 2-dimensional and generic - not everyone has to be a superpowered woobie destroyer of worlds. Make sure that the powers and probable, within godmoding constraints (eg. sufficient chance of blocking, cannot use more than one element) and explain everything in your Bio. Please don't put in "unknown" for the Bio, because the profiles are OOC and we'll separate RL and RP knowledge.
Also, you'll notice that a theme song is required in each profile. It's not mandatory, though imho good for getting into character.

3. Out Of Character
I personally don't mind {{::OOC::}} brackets at the end of posts, but try to use the OOC thread instead, since its made for the purpose. If you have longer OOC posts or personal issues, please take it to PM's or The Carebear's Office.

4. Posting etiquette
As a reply to other posts, please use the quoting tags. It'll encourage faster replies.

To those who drift among the steel and concrete of the city,
to the youngsters of this age, born to the dusty grayness of the urbanscape.
A burst of colour?
New life, born of lifelessness?
If you look deeper into the narrow alleys, scrawled onto the back of buildings,
you'll catch a faint glimpse of it. A street child's wildest fantasies, fresh paint
on the walls that will fade like the years in their lives.
Slowly. Reluctantly. Inevitably.
Graffiti.

They were children of a dying earth and emptiness. They were children born under a sky gray with screens of smoke. They were children breathing the air of decay, churning into their fading lives.
Slow poison.
Down the twisted alley-ways of neon-lit fog, the children discover a world of their own, shared and created only by themselves, hoping to purify the stench that hung in the air. The sweat of the city. The blood of the city. The shadows and the filthy air. Failure.
The remnants of the city gasps for breath. The mutilated walls and the tall spires of wood and rust. Anarchy. Death.
They stared at the dark walls, lined with thick layers of moss and grease, and one of them struck a broken line, slashing through the unrequited. The fingers shaking and unsure. Purposeless.
A single line spawned dozens. And then thousands. Creating a shape, a myth, a moment. Like the celestial skies. The constellations born out of a million stars. The same time and space.
They looked up in disbelief. Time had frozen in place.
Then came the colours. A splash, a dribble, a sprinkle. Surreality born of a child's eyes loomed over the rest of the city.
Each stroke of a brush was a fading contrast, merging illusion with dystopia. A reality washed in innocence. Innocence that came with knowledge.
Paradise regained.
The sun teased them. Its light baring the walls with a new glow, the sheen of skilful art against its course, unkempt reality, as it soaked the life out of the colours, leaving it to wither. Day by day.
Slow poison.
And as the children grew up, they began facing dangers other than the sun. The darkness that hid itself in the alley-ways of an old town, snatching away the young, dreamy lives.
The gangs. The underworld. The tempting fruit of crime.

The visions that burned like hot desert mirages seared into our minds,
the cool silver showers and lush abundance seeming almost materialise before our eyes.
But those fleeting fairy tales were just that - fairy tales.
Dissolving in the wake of those colourful dreams, a harsh reality began to form, all skeletons, spires and crags.
So the memories faded to an echo of a child's innocence.
Iridescence to gray. Rainbows to ashes.

Two planets, two orbits, yet intertwined as one in their destinies.

What we could not have imagined was that fateful day, when the two celestial bodies spun erratically, freed from their steady orbits.
Why? How?
What to do now?
The great balls of fire rent the sky asunder, painting the horizon black for weeks. Many were lost, gone from this terrible collision. But as always, some had survived on, and stared awestruck at this new planet before them.
The stars twinkled coldly overhead. This world had changed, but the constellations still spun, the universe still continued on its undisturbed path. For days afterwards, each night was lit with the fabulous blue-greens of solar particles, waves of light that stretched across the heavens in a beautiful display.
As if to say this is but the beginning...
