Mornings always came far too early. Squirming, fuzzy bodies crept out from under his paws, along his sides, and along his back. He and Safi'Moto would often curl up with their offspring laying in a pile in-between their bodies. It was a sure way of keeping track of them and to keep them all warm during the cold seaside nights.

More and more, exhaustion left the old veteran slumbering soundly through the wiggling of little bodies and the scrambling of little paws. It was so routine now... the cubs would wake, tug at their ears, step all over the place, mew for breakfast, or break outside for a run with their pride members. Feng was prompt in rounding them up and herding them off for training so there was little need for concern.

He groaned as the sunlight filtered in through the open den. Beside him Liu was snoring loudly, flopped on his back with his mouth hanging open and his gangly limbs sprawled out along his sides. He was the oddball of the litter, but of the lot, he was the most absorbent of knowledge. He retained nearly everything he heard and experienced though he lacked the backbone to execute any action as a result. His siblings were the do-ers, he was the thinker.

With a groan, Gremio rose up to his paws and stretched out. Liu slumped and sprawled out against the ground, undisturbed in his sleep.

There were loud and heavy paw steps that echoed the cave as a yellow hybrid came tumbling through. His signature cry was not shouted, this time, but the loudness of his paws frantically making their way to the den was enough to make up for that.

He quickly came to a skidding stop at the sight of Gremio and Liu though. He veered to the side and crashed to his side.

Brunhild watched out at the rising sun, her eyes squinting tiredly as she moved away from it and away from her post. She had to watch during the early morning and now it weighed on her shoulders. She would be rested with just an hour of sleep.
Moving towards her father's cave system she plopped nearby his bedding area and hid against the wall. Gently placing her head on her paws and letting her eyes droop as the sun began to descend happily.

Barsia was already up, he had this really good sleep-metabolism that made his eyes snap open creepily at the same time every morning; the moment he felt sunrays. Fluttering around his healing-herbs and puttering by all who come out of their cave and stuttering a "..G--Good morning!"

But Kinnison. Nope. Dead as a rock beside his familiar Shiro who was wearing down with age.

Not off to far Saikon moved from his cave and layed outside of it, Slipping on his leg warmers in the cold air. As well shifting into his scarf and flailing around. Then laying on his side to let the wind slip over his body. Some would say he would have conversations with its presence.

As Brun did move past him he gave her a sweet hello and softened his gaze as she went from hard and tired to soft and happy to see her good friend. "Good Morning 'Hild. Have a good nap."
"Saikon." Bow of the head.

Awani was not just waking up. In fact, she had been on guard duty overnight. Her dark coloring made her a logical choice, though she did miss snuggling with her kitten. Thankfully she wasn't always on night duty, allowing her nights when she could and did curl with her daughter and purr her to sleep. Despite having been awake all night, though, she wasn't tired enough to retire just yet. She padded through the dens, greeting those she met outside their dens. She didn't know everyone yet, but she hoped to eventually. For now, she made sure she presented herself as willing and friendly.

It felt rather odd in many ways to be part of a pride finally. it never had been something she thought she'd entertain. The ideas behind the pride had intrigued her at first, but in truth it was their heavy mixture of hybrids with purebreds that had decided her completely. Her daughter already was going to face difficulties, she didn't need her blood mixture to be added into that.

Liu was unfortunate enough to be placed between Huali and Gremio. He awoke to a paw sliding into his side, sending the paw's unfortunate owner into his father and effectively sending his father back down on top of him. Long legs sprawled out from under the veteran's body as Liu found himself the unfortunate under-dog in a three feline pile on the ground. "Dad. DAD. AIR!"

Gremio had very little time to think. Huali hadn't announced himself, as was typical of the youngster, and he wasn't exactly fully awake that morning to begin with. He had time to gasp, and time to realize that there was no stopping the whirlwind that was Huali's grand entrance, but it wasn't until he was on the floor, squashing his awkward son that he regained bodily and mental function.

"Heavens, Huali!" He scolded, now effectively pinned between two cheetions. "What have I told you about mornings!"

Huali merely grinned like a cheshire cat.

"I didn't yell ~" He happily rolled off of Gremio relieving the lion of the extra weight pressing down on poor Liu. He then cat stretched and yawned looking about at the other faces of felines around the den. The stupid grin never left his maw.

"Today is a good day ~ " He nodded, "Come on now ~ Get off the ground you lot we gotta enjoy the day. Lui you look silly under Gremio." Still yet that grin never left.

Kinnison awoke when he felt the presence of Awani moving across his denning area. His eyes lifting as she moved. Kinnison was intrigued, the other leopards around were males. It had been the first in a long time since he had seen a female. It kind of made him smile calmly about the idea of having her around. The army might have never been one for gender-roles but it still gave light to his heart to see the female of his species around. So many lions.. and cheetons.. and cheetahs.. and the list went on.

Tilting his head to the side a little as she carried herself tiredly towards her daughter. He gave her a small 'row' of good mornings. Flicking his tail as he sat at the entrance of his den. His scarf off him and over his wild dog familiar who lay inside still. But that greet was all that he made; a possibility the lighter male felt shy to say anything else. He was content to sit in his norther-extra-fluff and look pretty for the lady.

Awani paused, angling first one ear, then her head, having caught the sound of greeting. Curious, she turned her head to spot a nearby leopard, sitting at the mouth of his den in the sunshine. Debating only momentarily, she turned and padded towards him instead of continuing on. She wanted to learn of her new pridal brothers and sisters, after all, so it would be foolish to turn down the indicated willingness to talk.

He was oddly marked, to her eyes, and had extra fluffy fur. She thought it made him look rather young, like a cub shedding baby fur as a more mature coat came in. She wondered why it was his fur was like that, but was too polite to ask such a thing upon first meeting him. "Greetings. I don't think we've met yet. I am Awani." She rarely gave her full name, since she preferred the shortened version. "I'm relatively new here, so forgive me for not knowing your name just yet."

Thankfully she was finding this pride was less formal and rigid on etiquette than some she'd passed by before. She wasn't expected to know everyone, nor was she expected to know everyone's ranks. Things were pretty equal among the members, and she valued this.

When Awani paused Kinnison tilted his head ever so kindly and then stood up. He didn't need etiquette but he found it respectful to others when he stood up to greet them, "Welcome to our troupe Awani, I am Kinnison." He smiled warmly to her and shifted his extra manetuff over his shoulder. Flicking his tail he gingerly went on. "It is a different sight to see a leopardess.. There are few of us around and mainly male. So you're a sight I am happy to see." He complimented and bowed his head.

Not meaning it in a flirtatious notion, he was just rather pleased to see his own kind out and about. When he felt inclined, he sat back down on his haunches. To rest and let his still-awakening body to stop whining about his lack of it recently. So many cubbies whining during the night, keeping the Chisou awake. "Are you finding your time here to be in good nature?" He was at most times quiet but a good conversationalist when social.

Liu? Oh heavens!

Gremio pushed himself up the moment he was able to and found his young son nearly plastered the the floor of the cave. Liu, always the odd one, had his paws and legs sprawled out to either side and a groggy but still irritated glare set on his features.

"Oh heavens, Liu, I am so sorry! Are you alright?"

Liu pushed himself up from the ground and grunted as a few pops sounded off down his spine. Ow.

"Yeah. For being squashed I'm fine. What good day isn't complete without the morning flattening by way of Huali?" He dropped his hind quarters down to the ground and yawned. "Where's the fire anyway?"

"Apparently in the sunrise." Gremio half smiled and looked over to the eager cheetion standing nearby. "Was there a reason for your urgency or.... are you being yourself?"

She also sat, curling her tail about her paws neatly. Pondering his words, she nodded slightly, thinking about the myriad species she'd seen thus far. There was a diverse mixture, but she had to admit she had yet to meet another female leopardess. She took his strange way of speaking in stride, and smiled at his comment. "I'm pleased to make someone's day, then." At his question, she nodded her wide head gracefully. "Thus far, all has gone well. It is very different for me, living amongst so many. But aside from that, the duties are not hard, are of the kind I can excel at, and I am treated with courtesy." She shrugged fluidly. "I could be happier with much less, to be honest, so I feel blessed to have found a place here among all of you."
