What you should know:

Mankind has made some startling discoveries here in the year 2050. For the first time we have been able to construct a sustainable environment that can be sustained in extreme conditions. It's first use was to discover the mysteries of the Andreas Trench, so they placed a habitat at the very bottom of the ocean, and enlisted the help of six top scientist in their respective fields of study, and had them agree to stay within the habitat to document the newly discovered data, and research them. If there was an emergency, a small submersible was anchored down to the docking bay with several suits that could withstand the extreme pressures of the deep. They would return to them in three weeks to retrieve them and analyze the data. The habitat had their own personal sleeping quarters, and it's own advanced A.I. system known to be called Echo. The dining quarters were together, and the kitchen was well stocked with frozen foods of the sorts, just as their pantry was stocked with an insane amount of non-perishables. Well stocked the six scientist will be locked within this habitat at the bottom of the ocean. A marine biologists, a trauma doctor, a therapist, a network engineer (creator of Echo), a electrical engineer, and a kind priest who also cooks for everyone. These six did not expect to find much...but things begin to go awry as they find that we are not alone...and haven't been for a very long time.

Welcome to Atlantis.

Here at Atlantis we pride ourselves on our five star accommodations. No expense was spared as hundreds of our top engineers worked tirelessly to complete Atlantis so that we may help further mankind's understanding of the deep through you. With a series of lavish quarters numbering in twelve, two full chef style kitchens, both with walk in freezers, six full bathrooms, two fully equipped gyms, one dining area with a fully stocked bar, a ball room, a viewing room, two labs, one doctor one marine biologist, a network engineer's lab/office, and of course the crew offices/quarters. Much had been considered for a project of this magnitude and they could not have a big blunder in the company's headlines. A docking back for a small submersible was also added for emergency communications. They had everything. Lab supplies, food, bathroom goods, medications and medical supplies. They had everything. It was almost discerning as to how much these people put attention into detail.

Crates upon crates were stored into one of the extra living quarters. The crates had various supplies. Freeze dried foods, and batteries. Heavy duty back up generators were left within the habitat's large spacious hallways for easy access. An all new computer lab was made from another of the extra bedrooms allowing up to six computers for easy network access. Flat panel LCD's were displayed throughout the habitat for either enjoyment, or for updates of the enviormental systems. Speakers were littered everywhere in the habitat for the built in intercom system. This place was state of the art. Soon the other scientist would be arriving. After setting up and ensuring there jobs were to standard, many of the superiors sent their soldiers home. Only two high ranked soldiers remained there within the habitat reviewing life support systems, and power readings. Everything was perfect, and already the network engineer had arrived, bags unpacked, and getting acquainted with his office.

Free Williams sat brooding at his desk over a tablet sized touch screen, reviewing the schematics of his creation, ready to spring her to life at any moment with just a simple push of a button. He had been tasked out to work on this project nearly five years ago to integrate his advanced interactive learning system into Atlantis itself, putting all of it's systems in full synch with the habitat. Slaving tirelessly night and day he had completed his work with nearly a week to spare till the deadline approached, and all that was left to do was to finally activate the systems. He was excited at the simple aspect of watching his creation expand into the habitat. It was perfect in every way, shape and form, and had quite the blind spot enabled given the scenario played out that it happened to go against humans, but he laughed at the fact. He had been watching way too many terminator movies as of late so it was easy to dismiss the thought of his A.I. taking over, and with that, he flipped the switch as he watched the central servers power up for the first time. The whirring of small computer fans become a prominent sound within his office as he glanced up from his tablet to watch all the light from the servers flicker. He ducked back into the statistics of the notebook pc with quite a grin plastered to his face. It was finally about to start.

'Testing procedures in...3....2...1. Establishing Parameters and control functions. Expanding differentials...life support systems analysis set to priority. Familiarizing self with user data. Requesting password sequence for master control procedures.'

"Password is 11824. Set Master Account to my voice recognition patterns. Only allow full access to my known account...Good Morning Echo, how are we feeling today?" Free finalized his calibrations with a hearty greeting to his creation. "All systems are within working parameters. Is there anything else I can help you with Free," replied his creation in a friendly female voice. "No...nothing for now. Take this time to familiarize yourself with your controls, and emergency protocol. I'm going to take a shower, I've been working all day, and I stink. Don't want to smell like I've been living in a cave for a month when we first meet our new house guests, because you know what they say...first impression is a lasting one," he replied chuckling. "Do me a favor though, put on some classical violin if you would to entertain our two military friends in the lobby will ya," he said walking off down the hallway. Truth be told he was actually quite new to all of the new surroundings himself. He had already ventured into his office, but had seen little else of the habitat due to rigid work hours. Now he was curious about his room though, after months of coming down, and returning to the surface, he was thankful for a bit of stability. Finally finding his quarters, labeled conviently with his name, he entered it briskly placing down a small bag he had brought in with him from the lobby.

The room was huge, and was fully furnished. Each bed was tempur pedic, and had the option for built in heat. A large down comforter was layered atop the bed to add to its splendor. Adjoining the bedroom was a small living room with a small stocked bar. He smiled and his brow perked as he glanced at the bar in his room. It wasn't as elaborate at the one in the dining room, but still it left him for little more to want. His room was adjoined with a large bathroom which had both bath and shower. The shower was cased in glass with waterfall sprays built into the ceiling, and mist spray heads built into the walls. A bench was placed within the shower as well as a water proofed speaker, that projected whatever music played on the intercom. Towel warmers, decorative fireplace, stocked facilities...all of this was truly amazing. This was truly the life, I mean forget being in the ocean at the deepest point on Earth...he finally got to have a taste of the good life. Within the guest bathroom located in the lobby area was a sauna, and next to it a tennis ball court. Only two military personnel were to stay behind on this trip for emergency measures, but he was fine with that.

This place seemed to have it all, Free thought as he entered the shower, letting the hot waters cleanse his body of the filth and grime of everyday work. He loved this job, it was simple, and they payed extremely well. All he was required to do was keep his mouth shut about a few things, and presto. Almost an hour passed before he stepped from the shower, the bathroom fogged up intensely. At least he didn't have to worry about anyone barging in. He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his waist as he stepped from the bathroom, out into his open room. He rummaged through the small bag he had brought in and swore lightly realizing he had grabbed the wrong bag. His change of clothes was still in the lobby. Making sure his towel was fastened he rushed out into the hallway, and made his way to the lobby, his towel fastened around his waist.

He swore as he tip toed down the hallway, small beads of water dripping off his chiseled body. For a computer nerd he looked like quite the catch. It was actually a wonder as to how he remained single for all these years. Although upon closer examination of his life he could blame his work for the most part. He was no normal kid in school. He graduated with his masters in Network Design when he was only sixteen. Hired at a young age by a government agency, he's been working for them ever since. He was usually a quiet individual. He kept to himself twiddling with Echoes' programming or reading a book. Only time he truly left his room was to eat, and head to the server room. He was horribly socially inept, and despite his high charisma...he had no idea of his gifts, nor was he adept at making friends. Either way it was the reason he chose to be there. This would be the perfect opportunity to try to be...social...and he always had dreamed of going where no man has gone before...technically speaking the bottom of the Andreas Trench must count for something.

Dark hair hung above two round blue orbs. They seemed alight with curiousity, continously flashing from one object to the next. These two blue orbs belonged to Andrea Lark, recently new doctor and rather cheery young woman. She was in a place they called Atlantis, a massive underwater structure that was designed to undergo the most extreme pressure...
Pressure from the ocean itself.
This place was located in the Andreas Trench, a place Andrea never even considered stepping foot in until just two weeks before. Yet here she was, staring around herself like some sort of blubbering idiot. She hadn't said a word since she'd arrived, only staring in utter amazement.

How had anyone been able to do this all by themselves? It really amazed her, to be completely and utterly honest. Licking her lips she smiled as she clutched her large trunk stuffed full of clothes and unimportant things like pictures and knick-knacks, eyes slowly trailing back down once more.
Well, so long as she was here she may as well explore, right? Smiling like a small child she shot off, dragging the trunk quietly behind her. She was such a odd woman... she looked maybe sixteen at most, though she was really twenty-three, which was still very young to be a doctor.
Think of all the schooling and the nonsense! She had been smart enough in her lower years to pretty much skip middle school before skipping the ninth, tenth and eleventh grade, finding herself being a senior in highschool at the age of fourteen.

Sure, it was a little awkward being a senior in highschool when we she hadn't even really hit puberty, let alone developed much of a body... but mostly everyone had been nice to her. Mostly. She had graduated in her class with the highest GPA, almost four feet shorter then most of her classmates... but out of all of them her smile was the largest.
After that came college, which wasn't difficult to get into... until they found out her age. Finally a smalltown college that no one had ever even heard of offered her a full scholarship for four years, which she pounced on.
How old had she been?
Fourteen, almost fifteen. A child genius, she was.

She finished college rather easily, cramming in all sorts of classes into her schedule and somehow managing to graduate in three years, shaving off that last year with pure luck. Medical school attacked her next, keeping her busy for awhile... Tests and more tests, then her apprenticeship at a local hospital.
It was the best years of her life, really. Sure people treated her like a outcast... but she still loved being around them. She'd always been a rather large people person, even if everyone in school was always terribly older then her.
After finally finishing medical school she decided to go for her surgeoun's license, obtaining that right before she was offered the amazing oppurtunity to go under the sea.

So here she was now, wandering aimlessly around before she paused in front of a door. Her... her name was on it. Blinking a couple of times she put her hand on the knob before gently pushing it open, walking into a lush room that seemed to fit her personality.
Smiling grandly she kicked her trunk inside, eyes swinging around. On the far wall hung all sorts of medical supplies, ranging from stethoscope's to scalpel's, needles to thread. It seemed everything that had anything to do with the word medical was stashed in her bedroom.
There were even ace bandages and the mixture to make a cast! This... this was just amazing! Exploring around the room a bit she pulled on a small handle, a full size operating table folding out in front of her. Blinking a couple of times she laughed, filled with joy. Pushing it back into the wall she turned on her heels, deciding maybe a quick shower was in order... she didn't want to look gross before she met her peers, if they were even here yet.

Stepping into the shower after she had stripped herself from her soiled clothes she bathed, stepping out about forty-five minutes later. She padded into her room with a towel wrapped firmly around her, kicking open her trunk and pulling out a rather pretty sun dress.
Ha!
A sun dress under water? How silly was that? Smiling lightly she slipped it over her head after the undergarments had been located and placed in the right areas before pulling on a pair of flats. She shook her head, feeling her hair starting to dry already... at least her bangs weren't wet.

Grinning like a kid she padded out into the hallway, skipping off towards the lobby. Perhaps someone would be there? Smiling happily at the thought she got to the room only to find it empty, save for someones bag. Frowning at it she walked over, peering at it with a raised eyebrow.
Huh.
So... someone else was here, and they had left there bag. Blinking a couple of times she looked up, eyes resting on a male.
She turned red almost instantly.

Why? Well, for one he was only in a towel... and two, he was rather attractive. Or at least from what she could see. Reaching up she put her hands on her face to hide it, looking pitiful.
"Sorry!" She squeaked, though she had nothing to be sorry for, "This is yours, I think!"
She kept her eyes closed before reaching down, grabbing the bag and holding it out as far from her as possible.
Oh, this was awful. At least she looked pretty though, yes?

Jaden N. Walker~

User Image
~Psychologist/Nurse

(The Captain just handed down my approval, so, heeeere we go.)

The water outside was a strange iridescent blue, the lights from the complex bringing illumination to a place that, if Jaden's knowledge of geography was still up to par, hadn't seen it in over 100,000,000 years at the least. Truly, human ingenuity never ceased to amaze him. The water outside held little of interest to him, of course, He could apreciate briliiant discoveries made in the name of traversing the unknown, certainly, so one might say he could empathize with the scientists and researchers that were also counting themselves among the lucky few to be guests aboard this titan of invention, but he himself didn't consider the ocean the latest nor greatest frontier

Nor, for that matter, did he consider space, thus, as many others might have. He gave an almost imperceptible smirk. After all the human mind was far more vast and mysterious.

"You alright there sir?" Jaden turned away from the window with a smile, giving the pilot of his transport sub a sunny reply.

"Oh yes, I'm just amazed. This place is truly a sight to behold."

The pilot laughed with smile in turn, but that wasn't really a surprise. Jaden's smiles were usually infectious. "Ah you haven't seen anything yet sir, believe you me. I was one of the men who was set on patrol during construction, and you wouldn't even BELIEVE the inside of this place. Makes five star hotels blush by comparison, you take my word."

"Really?" Jaden gave a chuckle as he moved his eyes forward, the the transport now pulling into dock. "I must say that's not what I was expecting..." there was a slight glimmer in his eye at this "Most government projects don't go beyond the bare minimum when it comes to living arrangements...why do you suppose they made an exception?" the question was honest, but only partly so, their was an almost encouraging rhetorical note to the way he asked it, like a teacher hoping to coax the right answer from a student.

The pilot looked slightly surprised at this, suddenly thoughtful himself even as the airlocks clicked into place, the transport now secured. "I...I dunno...never really thought about, Mister...Walker was it?" he found himself...a tad more curious about his passenger now.

"Doctor." He said with a smile, shaking the man's hand even as he stood up, the airlock doors of the sub now opening with a well polished "whoosh." "Doctor Walker." he informed cheerfully.

"Doctor then?" he gave a laugh "We've been getting a few of those today, what's yer specialty then, doc? Before ya head out?"

"Clinical Psychology actually," he said with that same devil may care. "I'm the complexes therapist, though of course I also have a full nursing degree if you find yourself under the weather."

The pilot gave a jovial grin. "Nah, but thanks for the offer Sir. I'm just a pilot, your patients are gonna be way more important then me."

"Nonsense." Jaden stated even as he moved to pick up his luggage from the wrack above. "Do not let the blustering of men in power get you my friend. Without a crack pilot such as yourself how would any of them be here?"

The pilot gave a smile at this, lifting both brows as he gave a nod, tipping his hat to the younger man. "I thank you for you confidence Doctor." he gave a nod almost to himself, smiling as he added. "I wish you good luck on yer way. Do you need some help with your luggage."

"You as well," Jaden said pretending to be struggling with his hefty suitcase. "And yes," he said gratefully. "I would only need help getting it to the lobby you understand..."

"Think nothing of it!" The pilot assured hopping up with a grin, taking the case with pride as he showed no signs of struggle. "Happy to help."

Of course he was. Even as Jaden shook the mans hand again in thanks and smiled his best smile, turning to walk into the station with his makeshift baggage handler, nothing about this situation was not exactly as he'd intended. He could have carried the bag himself of course, but that wasn't the point, it was little victories like this one that made his day.

The lobby, and what else he saw of this facility along the way was just as amazing as advertised. He was one to stop occasionally a smell the roses, and he had shame in admitting this machination as nothing short of beautiful.

"That's fine." Jaden insisted as he thanked the pilot once more. "I appreciate the help. I can take it from here."

"Ya sure sir?" he set the large suitcase down, giving a salute to the two miliatary men that seemed to be loitering about the lobby. "Then I guess here's where I bid you goodbye."

"Farewell, Mister Barnes." Jaden bid, taking hold of his own bags and taking pleasure from the surprise on the man's face that Jaden had remembered his name.

Again, the pilot gave a content nod, repeating. "Good luck on your way, Doctor Walker." before heading back out of the grandeur of the lobby, the doors whooshing behind him. Jaden turned, having no trouble with his own bag now as he wheeling it across the lobby floor, removing the documentation containing his room assignment with a flourish, offering a congenial wave to two military men as he passed.

Marvelous...simply lavish. He gave a smirk now as he looked around, passing the doors of the living quarters as he headed towards his own. This told him almost as much about the people running this operation, and their intent, then it would have had they come up and explained it to him personally. He di sometimes adore how very blatant some people could be when they trying to keep secrets.

This was driven out of his mind however, as he happened upon a rather...he'd go ahead and say it, hilarious, awkward moment. They'd of course sent him the personal psyche files where available, so he was familiar with most of the stations crew already, and he DID have a memory for faces, but these two he recognized for entirely different reasons. Free Williams and Andrea Lark. Free Williams was the Network Admin, and, more importantly, the person responsible for designing and programing each of the individual rooms basic AI program, Echo. He was mentioned in the briefing he'd received and Jaden of course had done his own leg work finding out more...a man who could, CREATE, an artificial mind...now THAT was something that stirred his intellectual curiosity. As for the girl, well, he had two reasons for making particular note of Miss Andrea Lark. Firstly, while his official capacity was as the Stations Therapist and clinical psychologist, he was also trained as a nurse, and was instructed to act in such a capacity to assist the good doctor should she ever require it. The second was more base. She was cute.

He gave an slight chuckle to himself, adapting an expectant, teasing grin at the pair. "Ahem...if I'm, interrupting..." it was possibly the most embarrassing thing for the pair he could have said, in the most embaressing WAY he could have said it, while still in a polite context...and that was EXACTLY why he said it. He already knew he was going to adore his time here.

You see that was the problem with first impressions is, they always seemed to go awry at the worst possible times. Here he found himself, Free Williams, a young man at the age of twenty two standing there damn near in the nude had it not been for his trusty towel, in front of his peers. This was truly one for the books as he gasped at the unexpected arrival of his new roommates. His initial response was surprise that of surprise. He would've never expected the staff to show up so early, but understood their eagerness to aquatint themselves with their surroundings...they were after all among the first few people to be chosen to do research in such a state of the art facility, and they damn near had to strap him down to keep him from opting to live here nearly six months ago.

Chuckling nervously he slid behind a small supporting pillar, his cheeks blushing a bright red along with most of the soft pink exposed flesh of his upper torso. Glancing at the two from behind the pillar he smiled lightly. "No need to apologize...I just didn't expect anyone to be here so early...and I had grabbed the wrong bag with all my clothing in it and so..." he let his last words trail off. He glanced back at the young lady, and smiled lightly seeing her surprised look which made his cheeks flush with red all the more. The first things that had really caught his attention about here were her eyes. They were as deep and as blue as the ocean they were under, but quickly shook himself from the thought as he nervously spoke.

"Well that all aside, I think it best I take my belongings and get dressed in my quarters. My name is Free, and I'm the network administrator around here, and I'd like to say it's been a pleasure, but as you can see, that at the moment would be a bit of a stretch, so good day to you and the young lady, and my sincerest apologies," he said nervously as he backed his way out of the lobby before turning the corner, and scuttling off to clothe himself. As he rounded the corner he glanced back to ensure no one had followed him and leaned his back against the wall taking a large breath of relief. Of all the days this had to happen it had to be today...and just his luck, it all was happening on a Monday. He swore quietly under his breath as he pushed himself up from the wall and continued down to his quarters, entering the lavish suite. "Echo, feel free to introduce yourself to our guest when they settle in...and do try to apologize on my behalf again for the situation earlier..." he added as he blushed once more revisiting the events that had happened a few moments ago. By now he had thrown on a simple tank-top, with a pair of loose fitting blue jeans. Fortunately one of his conditions to working with the government was a strict no uniform policy. He enjoyed the simple perks life presented him.

Indeed it was true that Free was nothing short of a genius, but he never really bragged nor flaunted his knowledge at all. At the early age of fifteen he had accomplished more than anybody in his family could have said. He had his masters degree in computer sciences, and was already being scouted by high paying corporate sponsors who were throwing salaries at him well into six figures. Had it not been for his slight addiction to hacking, then he would've made it quite big, but I suppose that was life. Ever since he felt the need to hurdle great challenges, he had his eyes on the CIA mainframe. It wasn't hard to completely crash their system, but he was sloppy. He had taken too much time, and by the time the deed was done, they were swarming his house like horseflies on manure, and he was in irons before he could even speak a word. He was a headliner for nearly a year before the press died down, and nearly forgot about the genius fifteen year old who had crashed the CIA's mainframe. Five long years within a federal penitentiary taught him to keep his head down, and to remain silent, but on his sixth year a man in black approached him, and paid his bail. He would be released into FBI custody to work as their hacker, that or return to his habitual life as inmate 11235. He quickly agreed to the terms and two years later after showing he had reformed and after the creation of Echo, he had been granted this magnificent opportunity.

He plopped down upon his bed as he dug through his bag, searching through his belongings, and pulling from it a photo of mother and father. He placed the photo on a night stand next to his bed, and momentarily looked back at it before leaving his room. He would beeline his way straight to his office, and pray that he wouldn't run into either of the two he had so recently met. He let out an exasperated breath and smirked, "First impressions huh..." he said disappointingly as he remembered speaking to Echo about wanting to make a good impression before the incident.

The bag slipped from her fingers, the young woman only assuming that the man clad only in a towel had taken it from her. Letting her arm drop stiffly to her side she kept her big blue eyes firmly closed, unable to open them... not even when she heard him back off, as though he had hidden behind a wall. Chewing on her bottom lip she laughed nervously, shaking her head.
"Er, yea, okay.." She said softly, clearing her throat in the most awkwardest of ways.
She was unaware of yet another coworker gracing the area until his voice floated through the air, making her eyes snap open in surprise.

Ah. It appeared the towel man had hidden behind one of the pillars. That... that was nice. Now she didn't have to feel awkward around him.
"N-No! You aren't interuppting anything!" She blurted, turning a unmistakable light pink color. Why... why did guys have to be so pervy when it came to these kinds of situations!? Reaching up she put her hands on her cheeks in a last attempt at hiding her blush. Complete failure... but oh well. Listening to the towel man introduce himself a little lightbulb went off in her head... Ah, Free Williams? He was the guy who created this place, right?
Wow.
You'd think a smart guy like him wouldn't mistake his clothing bag for another bag. Snickering at the thought she shot him a quick glance before clearing her throat.

"Doctor Andrea Lark... but a lot of people call me Andy. Or Drea. Or Doc... or..." she started rambling, stopping herself before she got too far, "I'm babbling..." sighing quietly before realizing Mr. Williams had vanished while she was talking. Oh. Well then... maybe he had gone to get dressed? More than likely, she would have hated to be in his situation. Shaking her head she ran a hand through her hair, glancing at the other man who had appeared from seemingly nowhere.
His face was familiar... if only she could place his name...

"I guess you heard who I was, already... but in case you didn't I'm Doctor Andrea Lark." She smiled in a friendly sort of way, holding her hand out for him to shake, "I'm glad our meeting is less... awkward."
A giggle escaped her lips, a cute sound that made her look and sound a lot younger then she actually was. Quickly clearing her throat she tried to look proffessional..
And failed oh-so-miserably.

"Isn't this place just fantastic?" She suddenly said, hand still held out for him to take. She had tiny hands... good for sewing and patching people up. Or at least that's what her proffessor had always told her... he could have been lying for all she knew.
"Under the water in the deepest trench... it's amazing, almost unreal!" She smiled another warm, friendly smile, eyes sparkling.

Jaden offered her a his winning smile in turn, giving a content chuckle at her expense. "Please, please, miss, I was just teasing, I assure you. If I believed some sort of romantic tryst to be going on, I'm sure that there would be a more logical location for it then the hall way, yes?" he raised one eyebrow, now demonstrating a quirked grin. "it's a pleasure to meet you Doctor." he held out a hand in a harmless handshake, in the name of formality, still lugging his trunk behind him with his other hand. "I suspect that we'll be seeing much of one another, actually, I'm pleased that I could meet you under such relaxed circumstances. Jaden Walker, Doctor of Psychology. I'm told that my nursing degree has also landed me the job of your assistant in the more anatomical medical matters when you have need of me." he turned the quirked grin into an earnest smile.

"I look forward to being at your disposal." he added no inflection to the words at all, stating it as an honest remark, but the word choice would insure others to read a deeper meaning in the statement, only for them to think it was their imagination, and get all the more flustered with themselves...he did this a lot.

"I must admit though," he said still pouring his usual pleasant attitude "I didn't expect you to be so young. I confess myself impressed." He was lying of course, he'd known how old she was, it was detailed in the psyche report, but it was the sort of remark that would make her happy, and such was the intent of many of his little white lies. It was important to make a good first impression after all, particularly since he was going to be her subordinate in the more hands on medical matters.

He followed her gaze to the station around them, giving his more commonly worn laid back smile, his eyelids drooping slightly as though he was entirely relaxed. It helped put people at ease, he found, so he utilized it the most often. "And yes indeed, this place is truly a marvel. A beautiful product of the human mind amidst the impenetrable darkness of the ocean...it's like something out of a myth, wouldn't you say?" he adjusted his grip on his trunk, his marvel at the station around them causing his mask to come slightly down, a slightly mischievous glint in his eye, harmless perhaps, but it gave the impression of a child who loved pranks, or perhaps more accurately, a young man who, while meaning no real harm, was laughing at a joke who's punchline completely escaped all those around him. "Still," he seemed to fall back into his more congenial smile. "the people here are the true marvel, the best and brightest gathered to make this station what it's truly intended. Let's do our best to take care of them shall we?"

Pulling her hand free of his grip she laced it with the other behind her back, rocking back and forth on her heels as she examined him. He had a nice smile, she quite enjoyed it... not that she was going to be admitting that to him anytime soon. Why should she? Sometimes keeping things to oneself was better then blurting out what they were thinking.
"Oh! It's nice to meet you too, Doctor Walker." She smiled warmly, eyes trailing to the ceiling for a moment or two before slowly trailing back down to him, a curious expression lingering in those deep blue eyes.
"Ah, I was wondering how that would work. I'm glad to know I have someone qualified for assisting me... I was scared they'd send someone less then qualified. Seems my worries were pointless!"

Grinning slightly she let the smile fade before sighing, clearing her throat as he spoke again. Being at her disposal? Was... that supposed to mean something else? She frowned for a moment before pushing the thoughts aside, deciding that no one was going to be using double meanings on her.
Hopefully, at least. Pursing her lips as she thought his words over again she eventually looked back at him, listening to his otherwise happy voice float towards her.
Oh.
That was sweet to say.

Blushing slightly she cleared her throat, reaching up to push a piece of hair behind her ear.
"Ah, w-well... thank you." She smiled a shy smile before regaining her composure, clearing her throat and brushing the front of her sundress off. She still found that really funny... wearing a sundress while under the ocean. Smirking slightly at her little joke she looked around again, finding that Jaden was speaking once more.

"A myth... yes, a very elaborate myth in which the hero has to-" She cut herself off, realizing she was about to start rambling like she usually did. Puffing out her cheeks she glanced at him, eyebrow raising. For a second there his eyes had turned to that of a childs... mischevious, almost as if he pranked people for a living.
But soon that was forgotten, her smile replacing her worry, "Yes, the people here are truly something to marvel at," she sighed quietly before shifting her weight to her right foot, biting her bottom lip gently before responding, "Well of course, that's what I went to medical school for, Doctor."
She grinned a almost entirely infectious grin before glancing at his hands, eyebrow raising.

"You should go find your room... I won't keep you waiting any longer. It was rude of me..." She chided herself in her head, "I'll be seeing you later, then?"
She smiled a happy smile before stepping to the side, allowing him room to pass.

The slightly fidgety demeanor, the nervous way she bit her lip, the aim of her gaze, even the way she seemed to stop herself mid sentence, they were all his spies. All his own little informants, sending him their collected Intel as faithfully as the sunrise, into the inner working of the prodigal young doctors mind. She was very self conscious for one, she seemed very demure and shy in his company, though he suspected that a much stronger will lay behind this initial reaction. Anyone with the iron will to make it through medical school at such a tender age...he'd little doubt that their was a strong resolve behind her innocence...and that made her all the more intriguing.

She also seemed to have a self conscious quirk in regards to talking to much, he could tell from the way she'd cut her self off so suddenly, and by the way the glimmer of enthusiasm in her eye had been curbed. It was a common trait of course in intelligent people who felt slightly uncomfortable with their own intellect. What was the word...humble. Yes, that would probably fit. They didn't want to trouble other people by talking too much, didn't want to annoy them, rambling she probably called it to herself. That was a common mental process. Again, self conscious of others...concern for others. Yes, he believed her that helping people was why she'd started her career, even in the span of this oh so short conversation, he could read the reflection of it in her, there was no lie there. It was always the little things that reflected a persons nature... and it was finding these things that really brought him contentment in life. after all the reason he'd chosen his own career wasn't nessecarily to help people...it was to be around them. To talk to them, to understand them...it was always so much fun. Each new mind a riddle to be solved, a puzzle to be prodded, a frontier to be traversed.

Also, though this was a mere hunch on body language and eye contact,it seemed she liked his smile. He gave a slightly wider one at this. That didn't really stick out. Most everyone liked his smile, he prided himself on it.

He gave a cheerful air as she stepped aside urging him to pass, merely earning more of his near omnipresent cheerful smile. She was uncomfortable around him, and that made sense given her apparent nerves, he probably wouldn't get much more from her now, and even if he did try to force a bit more interaction, it would only serve to drive her further away, earn her disfavor. The best move for this one was to bow out gracefully, perhaps make some pleasant comment that stick in her mind...ah, he had it.

"Of course, it was a pleasure meeting you and please, you are free to spend my time as you wish. You say helping people was why you became a doctor?" he gave an honest grin now "Well talking to people was why I did, it's all part and parcel of being a therapist you know." he gave a short chuckle, before moving passed, pulling his luggage behind him. "Oh!" he seemed to recall, looking back still cheerful. "And never stop mid sentence in front of someone with psych doctoral." he actually winked. "I can assure you that whatever you have to say will be interesting to us. Stopping short will just make us assume the worst." he gave a lighthearted laugh. "I prefer optimism, of course. Good day doctor." with that he turned ahead, looking back down at the paper with his room assignment.

That went well, he supposed. at the very least he liked HER. She was an intriguing mind indeed, though he admittedly found most people such, and he had only gotten a chance to scratch the surface, she even had the added bonus of being cute!

There was no hurry though. He'd have plenty of time to pick the delightful girl's brain over the coming months, he supposed the only real loss was that Mister Williams had gotten away so quickly. He admitted it was probably too much to hope for someone to carry on extended conversation while wrapped in a towel.

He gave a light shrug to himself. Kay Sera Sera. He'd find a way to meet with him eventually. He suppose he could always recommend a mandatory psyche re-evaluation to the Director when they met. Yes...that was fine idea, then he'd get to meet with the whole crew, and it wasn't even an unreasonable request. He gave slanted self satisfied grin. Yes! That sounded like fun. He'd do that.

Sophia's heels clicked as she walked along one of the spacious hallways of Atlantis. And as her heels clicked she glanced upward to the only source of light she has seen.A few fluorescent lights that hung quite a great distance above her head. Her eyes tore away from the lights, her head turning to the walls as she examined the scene around her. There had been nothing but steel walls for a little while now, seeing nothing of the ocean yet. The ocean which she lied hundreds, possibly thousands of miles below, and as the thought came across her, her eyes ran to the ceiling once again. The thought causing a smile that slowly inched upon her face. A small close mouthed smile, hoping there may be a ceiling above very soon that would reveal all around the wonders of this underwater nature. She tore her eyes from the ceiling, a silver hair in her vision, quickly tossed out of her eyes as she looked to the laptop she held in her hands.

Upon her hand rested one single screen, upon this screen lay letters and numbers with a grey texture that highly resembled keys. Yet, when her fingers ran across these keys, there was no audible sound of the touch. The grey texture, and the typing from her free hand across seemed to call remarkable resemblance to a keyboard. Her eyes never meeting the glare of the keyboard as another screen that held itself to face Sophia began to come alive with the words she typed. The screen attached by a couple of metal wires that were stylishly designed with a black cover around them that made them appear square. Light and free willed scrawls upon it, many of them to give the appearance of loops. Her heels made another firm click upon the ground as she pressed the enter button. A tiny ding, such as one of a typewriter filling the room.

To where the white canvas still held the black text, remained a blinking cursor begging for another stroke of the keyboard. Upon it read:

I have merely just arrived at this beautiful place known as Atlantis. I have been down an hour now. The elevator ride took up I would assume 50 minutes, when in truth it felt like 6 hours. I am trying my best to remain calm, I don't wish to make a fool of myself in front of the many professionals I am soon to gain the honor of meeting. I have received word that the psychologist; Jaden N. Walker has already arrived. I am truly honest, my heart does feel as if beating out of my chest. Wishing to run out to urge me to run faster to meet these doctors. Yet, as if they were watching me now, watching my professional nature, I allow myself to appear calm. There has been no view as of yet of the beautiful sea to which I now reside.

As her hand dropped from the keyboard she read over her document and bit the side of her lip. There were repetitions, and with an urge to correct, she brought her hand up to stroke along the keyboard again, but as her hand hovered over the keys her hand curled up in a small fist. Her shoulders dropping as she let out a small breathy sigh. No.

She had made a few promises to her friends and family before she had arrived down here. One of them to her few psychology friends whom wished to study here and how well she adjusted to life under the sea. Her lip curled into a bit of a smile as she thought of it. Bringing her hands to swipe along the keys.
I was reminded of Sebastian's under the sea joke.

Sebastian and her had spoken of this project many times to one another and whenever mentioned to her as his "under the sea" project he would burst into a verse of the Disney song. Sophia's shoulders raising and shaking her head slightly as her teeth unclenched from her lips. Hopefully her only laughter during her stay wasn't from memories. As shy as she was she did enjoy a wonderful laugh with friends, and has often been caught in the never ending cycle of such an event. Another friend of hers, whom dabbled in psychology and physiology suggested they were still laughing and this was our reality we created in order to ease ourselves from the never ending cycle of happily gasping for air.

Her smile grew a bit more to reveal her teeth as she thought back fondly on the memory. Glancing to her laptop that she brought a hand to. Saving the document and sliding the screen to lay flat onto the keyboard. The two covers, revealing something of a notebook, bringing it to rest in her arm as it lay by her side. She began to focus around her, the clicking of her heels now forgotten in her mind, no more filling the air of her hearing.

Looking as she saw a blue light that casts up ahead. A quick intake of breath was heard. Sophia turning her head quickly to the back of her, the steel hallway remaining. And then let out a light laugh that ran down the hallway as she realized she was the cause of the gasp. Her pace slowing as the top of her head began to be lit with the blue light that the sea gave off. Her heels clicking to a stop as she looked around the spacious area. Her head turning as she spun around, making distance here and there to see other parts, as if standing somewhere else would give an advantage to another spot. Her smile wide and bright as she dragged a silver hair out of her eyes to rest in front of her shoulders. Letting out a small noise of wonderment. "Wow."

Five years was all it took for his life to fall in shambles, and less than two put Free Williams back together again. He learned a lot of things within those five long years. He learned to keep attention from himself, because it was those that shined the brightest that were usually taken out first. He made a simple routine out of everyday life in prison. He'd wake up, eat, workout, shower, read a book, and go to sleep without so much as a word to another person except for Danny, the mail clerk who had an unfortunate life sentence for murder of a man back in 1978.

Danny was an old codger who always had a smile on his face and was usually found whistling a tune as he joyfully passed out mail. Things went as usual every day for two long years until one fateful night when a letter arrived. Unlike most letters addressed to him within the prison, this one carried with it a sense of dismay. He could almost see it in Danny's eyes as Free was handed the letter. You see guards were meant to screen inmates' mail to keep them from having any contact with any crime connections on the outside, and although Danny was no guard, he knew a great deal of what was going on in the mail office...unfortunately today was not going to be a good day for the old codger's young friend.

It was a pity he had to find out in a letter that his mother and father were murdered. He had no words for the moment, but could remember the weather well that day...earlier there was a slight overcast that passed over, but as the day grew shorter, more clouds began to roll in getting darker and heavier as the sun began to set in the horizon. By night there was a heavy downpour, and Free couldn't help to think how much he hated the rain. As a matter of fact Free was having trouble finding anything he liked at the moment. He would simply sit there still as a dead man, slightly crumpled letter in hand, and a cigarette left to dangle unlit in his mouth.

Free never really smoked before, but when Danny handed him the letter along with a cigarette, he didn't turn it down. He knew bad news was bound to happen. It turned out that his parents had been murdered in their own home in an attempted robbery. It was funny as to how fickle life was, and Free crumpled the letter thinking about how unfair life truly was. From then on Free was forced to attend therapy nearly twice a week to escape his depression. He just simply gave up on everything, and resigned himself to the life he lived now. He stopped working out, ate poorly, and gave up on almost every last sliver of hope he had left until one day he received a visit from a man in a suit.

Free snapped to from his old memories of the past. He had been a free man, and was wasting his time on matters that couldn't be changed no matter how much his mind lingered upon them. Instead Free found himself curious. Now decently clothe, he would introduce himself properly to his new roommates. "Echo, who were the two new guests that just arrived only moments ago," he asked propping up in his seat from his slouched position. Echo replied with a warm response," They would be Project Atlantis' medical staff. Dr. Andrea Lark, Age 23. She is our trauma doctor, and the male whom accompanied her would be Dr. Jayden Walker. He's our onsite Therapist," replied Echo with a cheery tone. Free smirked at the word therapist. He never really enjoyed shrinks. They always tried to so hard to unravel his inner thoughts...and always failed miserably.

"Thanks Echo," Free said as he left his quarters, walking back down to the lobby, grabbing his small tablet sized touch screen pc with him. He yawned as he felt the drain from the previous work days take it's toll. He was accustomed to late nights, but even still he did have a breaking point. Rubbing the back of his neck, as he usually did when tiered, he returned to the lobby just as the young lady was about to leave the area. "Um...Dr. Lark right...? I just wanted to apologize for earlier...I was...caught off guard there for a moment, and say I'm very glad to have you guys here with us, and can't wait to get to work," spoke Free as he held his hand out for a customary handshake. He was horrible when it came to being social, but today was all but a regular day, and he figured another break from the ordinary didn't hurt too much. "There was a gentlemen here with you earlier...I wanted to apologize to him as well for earlier..." he said searching the room for Dr. Walker to no avail.
