Molly was now reporting for a duty she hadn’t been assigned before, but it sounded kind of…exciting! An underwater observation post! The young woman could only image a scene out of those Discovery documentaries like observing the Titantic…and well…she was about to learn that it wouldn’t be too far off.
Apparently this needed a portal to get to as well!
One short little portal hop later, Molly found herself within the half metal half plastic pill with the scanning and reading equipment…but that wasn’t what had her attention.
FISH. SEA LIFE. AMAZING.
The Mist trainee couldn’t help but smile as she made the short trek to the large viewing portion of the post and pressed her hands against the window as she peered up and around at all the fish and sea critters. Amazing. Her expression also seemed to match the sea life:

"Your face resembles the fish currently swimming past us," Ariane commented casually, sounding amused as she grinned and leaned against the control panel, arms folded across her chest; she wasn't sure why they had suddenly decided to assign her such a duty, but she wasn't in the position to decline or question the decision of the higher-ups. Besides, it's not like she had better things to do, and it was her first time doing underwater observation duty... With any luck, it would be better than forest duty.
When she got there through the portal, it didn't take her long to realize that there was already someone in the capsule.
"Ariane," She walked towards the trainee and extended out a hand towards her, her grin unfaltering, "Did you just arrive too, hm?"

Molly squeaked in surprise as another voice spoke up from behind her, and the young woman’s head whipped around to see. Oh! This must be the other hunter she was on duty with! She took note of her coat. Oooh…a Death division intermediate!
Luckily, Molly seemed to respond to her pretty well, since the girl was grinning and offering a hand in greeting. “Hello there, Ariane, ma’am!” Molly returned, reaching out for her hand and giving it a firm shake. “My name is Mallaidh!” Which sounded exactly like ‘Molly’ anyways. She nodded her head once more. “That I did! This is my first time down here!” She beamed.

".... Ma'am?" She poker faced, and then shook her head, holding up her free hand in a 'stop' gesture since her other hand was preoccupied with shaking Molly's, "Just Ariane will do."
'Shut up Kintama.'
Letting her hand go, she looked outside, her attention on the dark, moving shapes in the distance; if this had been a normal underwater observation area, she would have thought that those were whales... In this situation, however it would be a blessing if they never have to report one coming close enough for anyone to identify it.
"Molly?" She echoed before chuckling, "Well, well... What a coincidence. It's my first time too." She couldn't help it, saying that just made her grin grow.

“Oh, alright!” Molly agreed easily enough. If Ariane just wanted to be called Ariane, she was more than fine with going along with that.
“It is?” She echoed, looking back at the shapes through the window. Considering Ariane was an intermediate, that meant she had to have been here a while…so she was kind of surprised this was her first time down here. “I didn’t know there was something like this here! I know it’s a duty and it’s to be taken seriously, but I think it’s pretty neat too.” She giggled a bit. “Closest I think I’ll get to pretending I’m in the Caribbean.”

"Yup," She answered, staring out the window a little bit longer before turning around and walking to the table, taking a seat as she stared at the spine of the books displayed on the small shelf; something-shadows, something something myths, something legends something...
"Well, they say that it's every person's dream to find a job that they enjoy as well," She chuckled, "Doesn't mean you can't have fun while taking this seriously! Besides, there's not much to do, except to stare into the ocean."

Molly hummed thoughtfully as she pondered that statement. “… Yes! It’s true! Sometimes I find myself having fun and really enjoying what I’m doing, so I feel bad, it can’t possibly be work, but it is!” Like right now. She looked over her shoulder as Ariane went to go sit on the couch, and then looked back at the sea life for a bit longer. “ I feel like I could keep looking the entire time though…” The trainee tapped her finger together for a moment before looking back at Ariane again. She never really got the chance to converse with girls around her age before…what did they talk about, usually? “… Um…so…” Oh dear. “ Where…are you from? If you don’t mind me asking!”

"It's work, and you're stuck with it for the rest of your life," However long that might be, anyway; the average hunter doesn't seem to live very long, judging from the number of deaths she had seen since the start of her 'career', "Might as well enjoy it while it lasts." It was almost cute, how Molly seemed so engrossed.
"Hm?" She blinked before chuckling, propping her arms up on the table and resting her chin on her hands as she grinned, "It really doesn't matter now, does it? But no, I don't mind. I was from some part of America~ And yourself?"

“ I don’t mind!” Molly chirped, watching the fish with a dreamy look on her face. She especially didn’t mind if she got to keep doing stuff like this! She was being paid to do stuff like this? Seriously? “… Um…well…I guess not…but you don’t learn about others if you don’t ask?” She offered with a small smile, and looked a bit lost as Ariane was uh…rather vague about where she was from. “Um …I came from Cleveland, Ohio…but I was born and lived in Ireland for a bit before that…!”

Noticing the look on Molly's face, Ariane pursed her lips, wondering if she should be merciful and break the girl's illusion for her, or allow her to discover for herself what it really means to be a hunter. After a minute, she decided on a good middle, "It is good to enjoy the little things in life while you can... Good times don't last when you're a hunter. They come and go."
She went 'oh' when Molly mentioned Ireland, "Mmm, Ireland. Went there once, with a hunter and a trainee for an external mission. The trainee got chewed on pretty badly by the ghost... Monster dog thing we found. Pretty nice place otherwise."

Molly looked back at Ariane, thoughtful, though still smiling. She hummed softly, in thought for a few moments before piping up. “ Mmm, I think the good times last as long as you want them to.” Her smile widened and she looked back out at the fish once more before looking back at her. She blinked as the Death trainee mentioned going on a mission in Ireland. “ O..oh really?” Wow, to think someone might have been so close to home! She nodded her head. “ Yeah! It is a beautiful place…” She sighed wistfully.

optimist! Shield your eyes ahhhhhhhhhh! She's too Jacking bright for your dark, dark soul! Ahhhhhhhhh-> "That's a good frame of mind to have," She commented, pretending not to hear Kintama even though he was still yelling; maybe Molly would stay sane for a longer period of time with it, "Yup~ Northern Ireland, I believe, although I'm not sure of the exact location. The portals are actually rather handy~ Once you go portal, you never go back... So, Molly, been on any external missions before?"
