Background. Sourin came from a military family and at the age of fifteen anger lead him to learn a secret his father tired desperately to keep hidden from him. His father could change into a sword which was then used by the commanding officer of the military to strike down countless foes. When Sourin's father was late returning from duty on evening Sourin decided to go looking for him. That is when Sourin saw the commanding officer and a few of his men returning back to town covered in blood and barely alive. Sourin did not see his father among the men and panic quickly swept over him. The commanding officer became unconscious as his horse continued to move forward unguided. His grip on his weapon began to loosen as the soul link between Sourin's father faded with the unconscious man. Sourin's father fell to the ground in weapon form still, but before he could change back he felt another soul link with his as small hands gripped his hilt. Sourin was charging with the sword in his hands towards the man who he blamed for his father's disappearance. "Sourin stop!" he heard in his mind as a strange light surrounded him for a moment. When Sourin opened his eyes his father was standing there in front of him with his arms around the boy to keep him still. The sword was gone from Sourin's hands now and his father explained everything to him then. Once the military learned that men could change into weapons at a moments notice, he was taken up by the military as their new secret weapon against the people coming to invade their homeland.
"You must leave Sourin, my son. If the military finds you they will force you to experience so many terrible things. Please run and don't look back. I will protect your mother I promise." was his father's last words to him before Sourin left. Sourin had been hopping from town to town ever since. At first he wanted to hide his true form in fear of being used as a tool for war, but Sourin soon meet an interesting boy named Daerin that taught him weapons themselves are not evil; the ones who wield them might be. Sourin became weapon partners with the boy to help him defend the town he had come to know as home. It was nearly a month's time before Sourin learned the boy Daerin was holding in a secret of his own. Daerin could transform into a sword as well but his element was water and his sword could not harm people. Sourin suffered a few cuts during a fight with a knife wielding thief who aimed to take his pocket change and after that he learned Daerin's sword healed wounds. The pair had been together every since Sourin acting as the strong arm and Daerin ended up patching him up whenever Sourin got too reckless. Sourin heard about the DWMA during his travels and he decided to check it out. It might not be such a bad thing to be around other people like him and Daerin. It would be nice to find a place where they were accepted for who they were and not for who they pretended to be.
Daerin grew up in an orphanage and doesn't know anything about his birth family. At the age of ten he learned he had control over water when he was playing in a well behind the orphanage. He could draw up small bubbles of water from the bottom of the well up towards where he was, but none of them ever made it to the top before breaking. As the years passed Daerin continued to train his water control until he finally brought the bubbles out of the well then he threw them at his orphan friends almost like a snowball fight in the summer time. The orphanage headmaster was not happy when she heard of Daerin and the other children playing out in the mud, which she didn't know how they all got wet in the first place. Daerin took the blame for everything and was confined to his room the rest of the day while the other children went inside to change clothes and wash up for dinner. Later that night Daerin was woken suddenly and the headmaster told him he was being transferred to a family in St. Petersburg. Where ever that was. Daerin was happy to finally get adopted, and yet sad to leave his friends behind. Daerin's new family was surprised when they learned the boy had unusual gifts, but they encouraged Daerin to continue to develop them.
One winter Daerin was trying to learn how to draw water from a frozen pond when his adoptive mother came to bring him in from the cold. Daerin was caught off guard and accidentally threw the ball of water at her. She didn't seem hurt but it as Daerin run up to her apologizing to her every step of the way. She shook her head and held out her hands. The blisters she had from the cooking pot she dropped a day before were now completely gone. "You healed it Daerin. Your a very special boy." She said hugging him before returned home. Daerin used his special gifts to treat people who had gotten hurt. At only 15 years old Daerin had become the assistant doctor of St. Petersburg. Nearly a year passed before any seriously wounded people came in for treatment. Daerin meet a boy named Sourin at the medical ward after Sourin suffered some cuts from some kind of blade. Daerin was able to heal Sourin's wounds and as repayment Sourin agreed to help defend St. Petersburg from the surrounding areas that might invade for land and resources that are scarce due to the wars going on. Sourin became the strength Daerin needed, however the military men, that were searching for Sourin, eventually caught up with him in St. Petersberg. Sourin heard about a place called the DWMA where gifted students were taught how to use their powers correctly so he decided to flee there with Daerin. Daerin was a little sad to leave his first 'home' but he felt it was for the best to keep them all safe. Maybe this DWMA place will have a teacher to help him with his healing water.
Abilities:
Sourin transforms into a red sword and grants whomever wields him control over the element of fire. The fire will ignite anything struck by the sword. Sourin learned how to fight with his fists while he is in human form due to some training from his previous Meister who was killed in combat.
Sourin is able to successfully use Soul Resonance which grants his Meister the ability of Firestorm which looks like a ball of flames which is then thrown towards a foe for a large amount of damage to whatever it hits and the surrounding area.
Daerin transforms into a blue sword and grants his wielder the power over water elemental magic, however his attacks are not able to harm anyone. Instead his magic has healing properties to mend non nonthreatening wounds that do not require surgery.
Daerin his been trying to learn Soul Resonance but all his previous attempts have failed. It is not yet known what abilities Daerin will gain once he is able to maintain Soul Resonance.

Personalities:
Daerin is a very kind person and often he puts others over himself. His soul looks like a calm river ebbing and flowing. Daerin always tries to find the best solution for every problem he comes across. He is a very rational person and he dislikes fighting due to seeing first hand the injuries caused by it. Sourin's soul looks to be a bit wild and chaotic at times depending on whats going on around him. He enjoys spars and battles as long as his opponents are as strong as he is. Sourin is a hotheaded person and becomes angered easily by people acting dumb or people telling him he can't do something without a good reason. He doesn't like people keeping secrets from him.
Hobbies/skills: Daerin has studied some of the methods of treating the sick and wounded. He like to read and learn new things. Sourin has vowed to become strong enough to protect those he cares for so often times he is doing some kind of physical training in his spare time. Sourin likes playing strategy games like chess.

Sourin and Daerin packed up their belongings then the hopped on the next train leaving St. Petersberg. It seemed like the whole town had gathered at the train station to see them off and wish their youngest doctor well. Sourin had only been in the town a few months compared to Daerin, but still even he felt a little sad leaving. "Are you sure your okay with this Dae? You could stay you know. I think it's me they are after ." Sourin said as he stared out the window. There was a brief silence before Daerin said "It's alright. They would of taken me too. I'm gifted just like you...well not exactly like you. I want to help people, but no those kind of people that hurt others. The DWMA sounds like a nice place. I'm sure we will make some friends there and learn some new stuff. It will be an interesting adventure." Sourin smiled only for a moment then he folded his hands behind his head and leaned back against the seat of the train. He was determined to sleep the rest of the trip since traveling had become rather boring to him. His first few trips he watched every little thing go by until his head hurt, but now it seemed like a lot of the same stuff he had seen before so it was nothing exciting. It took thirteen hours and three trains to make it to the DWMA which seemed like it was situated in the middle of a desert where no one could find it unless they were actually looking for it. "Excuse me are you sure this is the right stop? This doesn't look like a school at all." Daerin said nervously to the train conductor fearing he made a miscalculation. "This is the only school on my route kid. Get off if your gonna get off otherwise you and your friend will have to pay for a return trip back." The conductor said hoping Daerin would become dispirited into paying to return back to St. Petersburg. "This is our stop. Thanks for the ride man." Sourin said carrying a small bag for himself and Daerin's bag full of medical books and supplies. Daerin bowed to the conductor before he hoped off the train. Within seconds the trains started up again and continued along it's path, disappearing into the distance as if it was a mirage. "Well we should go say hi to the headmaster and find out where they have us stationed at." Sourin said as a little of his military slang slipped. Daerin just nodded and followed Sourin through Death City. They had to ask for directions a few times, but eventually made it safely to the steps of the DWMA their new school and home.
