[This is backdated to when she was pregnant. The cubs haven't been played yet.] Her belly was heavy, and traveling had been nothing but a nuisance. She had told Mkali to meet her here today, but she hadn't shown yet. Such a bummer, because if Adanna needed anyone right now, it was her sister. She sighed, lying on her side in an attempt to catch her breath. She had been near the lands for a few weeks now, but she hadn't actually tried getting too close to the place she had heard of. She wanted to call it home.. Have her babies [or the leeches, whichever you chose to call them] in a pride that would protect them and watch as they grew strong. One kick made Adanna's abdomen quiver and she sighed again. This sucked. She could have killed Aro for what he had done to her. Her belly was full of cubs because of him. HIM. That b*****d.

A high pitched whining came from the underbrush, the last rays of the sun washing everything in the color of rich, fresh blood. The sound made one think of something sickly or injured, protesting to the cruel, uncaring world the injustice of its nearing demise.
The rustling of the underbrush preceded the thing, slinking form a lioness as she crept from the darkness, a strange expression of loss on her face. The sound was, strangely enough, coming from her, though she showed no visible injury and didn't appear to be on the verge of death... but there was a strange air about her, the sound mixed with the strange way she stared at nothing with her eyes as wide open as they would go. Despite the growing darkness, the pupils of her eyes were tiny pinpricks, never blinking.
And then, as though cut with a knife, the sound stopped, the lioness going still as stone on the bare ground where she crouched. Over the hills, the last light of the sun burning the sky was fading to bruised violet, the last of the burning disc hidden by the rolling land.
A smile crawled its way across the white and red lioness's face, a soft, questioning croon sliding from her throat.

The sound was unnerving. Adanna was normally fearless. A battle ready girl who enjoyed the idea of causing pain and mischief. But with her belly as big as it was, movement was limited..That..and it just plain hurt. It was like they were pressing on all sides of her abdomen.
She sat up quickly, her ears perked and her own eyes wide as she surveyed the lands. The darkness was bringing out the odd balls. After all, she had heard that freaks come out at night. She stood, her claws extended and ready to defend herself though the odds were she would be forced to run. Any predator with a well placed paw to he belly would bring her down easily.

The red of her eyes shrunk as night settled in, the pupils growing to swallow her eyes up in pools of black that seemed, despite their darkness... to glow in the night.
Ah, sweet night... a time of darkness and sweet blood in her mouth. A time to run and leap and play and hunt...
The sound of the strange lioness moving drew her attention and she turned her bright, almost feverish eyes towards her, freezing where she stood save for a trembling that started all over her body. Looking like she had sighted prey, the ghostly female remained poised where she was, her breath a labored hiss through her teeth.
"What's this, my dear?" She crooned, her voice sing-song. "A pretty little thing... are you lost, my dear, my sweet? Lost children, they all come to us... they become us... our dear, dear little ones..." A soft little girlish giggle broke from her near the end, her head tilting curiously to the side. Weakness... her eyes stared, searching for a weakness or some signal that would flip her from stalking hunter to sniveling, craven sycophant. The pregnant lioness's response would decide what sort of creature she faced.

Oh great. She spotted the lioness, almost the same time that the other had spotted her. She frowned. The red and white female looked.. odd. It made her narrow her eyes as she watched her come closer. Though nothing was weirder than that voice that came from her throat.
"What the hell are you talking about?" She asked, arching an eyebrow and halting her movements. Hmm.. She wasn't quite sure what to do in this predicament.
"But no.. I am not lost. Nor am I a child. I have heard of the Mwana'a'Lela and I am determined to join it's ranks." She looked the lioness up and down, and arched another eyebrow.
"That wouldn't..happen to be where you are from..Would it?" If she was, that would be perfect and Adanna could maaaybe sneak around her and just mingle with the rest. However she was hoping the entire pride wasn't as batshit insane as she seemed to be.

The pale lioness froze at the other's voice, her expression falling at the strong tone and the words that denied her claims. It fell further as this stranger spoke of looking for the Coven and she seemed to shrink in on herself. Red shoulders hunched and her head dropped low, and though her eyes still had a wild look in them, it was more as though she wished to disappear than to attack her prey.
"Seeking the Children... wandering, all alone..." She crooned, her head weaving side to side as she rocked on her paws, slowing crouching down till her stomach rested on the ground. Her fur wasn't particularly well cared for and though she wasn't starving, her ribs and hips still showed as faint bumps in her hide. She wasn't sickly just... not the best specimen of female kind, even though some might have described her looks as strikingly lovely. An odd sort of lioness, no matter how one looked at it. Time would tell how fortune favored the stranger for having met this one, before any other of the pride she hailed from.
"Deep in the forrest... we hunt the night, to blood and fight... for children and worms and little things that crawl in the dark. The Coven hunts in the night, in the night, in the dark that spawned them. Pretty females from the lands of light should... watch their step, lest they be eaten." She let out a demented little giggle, turning to gaze off into the trees as though having lost interest. "Ah! The King... my dark king... Strangers bleed for me, but I, oh I! I die for him, over and over, writhing in the dark." The red-white lioness giggled again, finally rolling over to her side and scrabbling her paws in the dirt, her back arching till she seemed painfully bent in half backwards.
"I know where the Children hunt!" She whispered, her eyes staring without seeing. "I know! I smell the blood, the blood on the air!"

Adanna was clearly confused. Part of her wanted to try to solve the riddles the female spoke in. Though the other part of her wanted to roll her eyes and walk away. Maybe find someone who would be of more clarity. But she knew that this was as good as anything. Who was to say she would find others around that actually were capable of making sense.
"I understand that part I think. I am no pretty female that should watch my step. I am.. The Coven." She said, trying to use it in a term that would make this a tad simpler.
"I want to hunt by night, and take the blood of the pretty females that are not careful. I want to hear children's cries." It was odd, being pregnant that she wanted to hear such things. But she was only being honest, that...and maybe talking herself up a bit.

Shaitani flexed and slowly deflated, her eyes shifting to start unblinking at this stranger lioness. She rolled over and gathered her paws under her, rounded ears pressing back against her head. The word Coven seemed to have flipped some switch in her muddled head and the persona that dealt with strangers shifted to one that dealt with fellow pride members. Her posture shifted to one of submission and pleading, her eyes wide as she continued to stare.
"Coven? One of the children..." She moaned softly to herself, her paws kneading the ground in a nervous gesture. Insane she might be, but she knew better, in some unconscious place, not to anger those she lived among. She was the lowest of them, technically, though a normal lioness in her position would have enjoyed some favor as one of the King's mistresses. As it was, Shai did nothing to anger the members of the Coven, depending on them as she did for every part of her life.
"Little one is lost... far, far from home... Did the pretty little female loose her way?" She murmured, her tail curling around her back legs. "The pride moves and hunts and bleeds... waters come and drown and smash and smother... children are lost, new dens are found, did the little one loose her way?" She tested the waters between them cautiously, torn between the two personas, the bloody hunter and the craven coward.

Adanna saw the nervous gestures, and she wasn't sure if she had said something to cause them. But when she said the word coven, her chin quivered ever so slightly. She was obviously not exactly fond to have thought this pale lioness part of this...Coven..
"Who is lost? I have not found a pretty female, unless you mean myself. I have not lost my way. Far from it in fact. I've been seeking this place for a long time. I am here, and I feel at home."
She didn't move as much as this lioness did. She sat rather still as she watched, her ears flicking to the sounds that the lioness made. She was a bit cautious, but only out of fear of the brood in her belly.

Suddenly the pale lioness paused, paw raised in mid step, and swiveled her ears about as though to catch a sound only she could hear. Her face was masked in panic and her eyes went round and staring. A whining sound broke from her throat as her sides heaved with frantic panting.
"Its coming! Sweet goddess, its coming! Darkness, death, burning, pain!" She squealed as she suddenly flew into a frenzy. Lips pulled back from her fangs as she dashed at the pregnant lioness, leaping at her with claws out stretched...
At the last moment she twisted in mid air to come down inches from her, scrambling as she dove to the side. Her scream followed her as she fled, as though it were some beast she was desperate to escape. Shaitani crashed into the bushes and tore her way through them, headless of the way they tore through her fur or the blood she left behind on the leaves.
Her scream sounded again, more distant and just as full of terror. Finally, it was gone and the world grew quite for a while till other nocturnal animals, frightened by the lioness, slowly started to emerge and sound their calls again. The encounter was over faster than it had begun, and just as strangely.
