Whisper of the Leaves "The gifts that nature brings need someone to care for them. A cornfield in the sun. I sit and wait 'til you come.
The whisper of the leaves is a rhapsody in green. The whisper of the leaves, a love song from the trees."
During the medieval era, there were rumors of a forest cursed by dark magic. Once inside, one could not get out, for it is overgrown with dense flora, some never seen by mans' eyes, which creates a maze like environment that expands out to quite possibly hundreds of miles. There is also talk of foul monsters and abominations inside, ruled by the one that first cursed it. In the nearby kingdom of ____, where the rumors are at their prime and most extreme, plans to simply destroy the whole forest are under way. Whether by fire, metal or any other method, this acursed wood was to be wiped from the face of the planet. What happens, however, when Fire, a young woman of the kingdom, is chased into the forest by unforseen circumstances? What's more, how will she react when she is met by not a monster...but a man?

If you wish to do the same then by all means go ahead, just as long as the blanks are filled in during the story. Also, don't be afraid to add to the profile, this is mostly just a basic guideline. IMPORTANT: Probably the only really necessary things in the profile are the character name and occupation, as the latter shapes who your character is in relation to the plans of the nearby kingdom (name left blank for you to name yourself if you'd like) i.e, someone who has potentially absolute influence over whether or not the plans are to continue/cease, or someone who has no influence whatsoever.}Rules/Guidelines -Standard rules within the guild for obvious reasons- -Be prepared to RP as minor characters. Fire Lynix ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓Fire ran into the trees of the forest out of breath and tired. She had fought her way into the thick greenery of these woods and she had a cut on her face from where a thorn had caught her. Fire held herself for a moment to steady herself before she pushed her hair back from her face and tried to tame the frizzing mess it had become. She scanned the area around her and herd water running somewhere off to the east of her. With a deep breath she turned and walked toward the sound following it. Her mind was only half focused though, her main thoughts turning to Ronald and their inn. She wouldn't be able to return to her twin but that didn't matter he could handle the work with his fiancee. Fire took a deep breath as she finally reached the source of the water. A small waterfall fed a growing crystal clear pool. She fell to her knees at the edge and welcomed the cool feeling as she splashed water on her face.▁ ▂ ▃ ▄ ▅ ▆ ▇ █ ▇ ▆ ▅ ▄ ▃ ▂ ▁

"The gifts that nature brings need someone to care for them. A cornfield in the sun. I sit and wait 'til you come." Whether unknown to Fire or not, a man had chased after her into the silent woods, even at the protests of his colleagues. However, with Fire stealing incredibly important documents and such on several occaisions, the man was quite clear that he had enough of this and ventured in to finish this. The problem, however, began as he soon realised that not only did he not know which way the girl went, but it was increasingly getting darker down the path he had taken, even though it was still well into the middle of the day. His movements slowed as the feelings of anger were soon replaced with feelings of paranoia, anxiety....fear. He had heard the rumors, but thought nothing of them as much as what they were: rumors. Entering the forest, however, his skepticism was wearing off. Every movement he made felt like something was watching him. Unknown to him, that feeling was correct. His breath became heavy, eyes darted from place to place in search of something, anything besides endless forest. Then he heard it, the distinct snap of twigs, followed by a low moan, all of it eminating from behind him. Turning around slowly, the man saw what it was through the corner of his eyes and screamed. The scream echoed in the woods, though cut off shortly afterwards, causing birds in the surrounding area to scatter, taking to the air. Though the man's cry was shortlived, it carried for some time, eventually reaching the pool at which Fire rested at.
{not using Artyom's layout until he actually makes his appearance known, hope that's fine with you >w<}"The whisper of the leaves is a rhapsody in green. The whisper of the leaves, a love song from the trees."

Fire Lynix ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓Fire laid by the pool needed a few moments of rest. She had to believe someone would have followed her into these woods since she still had the order forms in the bag that was slung over her shoulder. Inside that bag was the documents for everything on this forest. She had closed her redish-brown eyes for a few moments when the scream reached her ears. Her eyes opened instantly and her body tensed as she sat up very slowly listening all around her. The birds were beginning to settle back int he trees and once more all she herd was the natural sounds of the woods. Still the thieving girl was tense and ready for anything as she slowly rose to her feet. Her throat was no longer dry and she was rested enough to be able to run again. Slowly Fire began to walk along the edge of the pool toward the waterfall that fed it. She guessed water would be her safest thing to stay by so she got to the edge of the small drop and began to climb up the rocks.▁ ▂ ▃ ▄ ▅ ▆ ▇ █ ▇ ▆ ▅ ▄ ▃ ▂ ▁

"The gifts that nature brings need someone to care for them. A cornfield in the sun. I sit and wait 'til you come." Although the inhabitants of the trees had settled down again, there was still movement in the shrubs below, more stiffled snaps of twigs and crunches of leaves around the area as whatever had found the man now had its sights on Fire. The movement was scattered around the area, potentially dozens of creatures hidden by the forest. Another set of eyes was on her, their owner silently watching from the safety of a nearby tree, hidden by leaves and branches. Her movements were followed and carefully examined, if she made it passed it would leave little difference as to what was going to happen, but sure delay it for a rather irritating amount of time. The watcher gave a low whistle, one that sounded like a bird calling. The ground-dwellers moved again, this time sounding as thought they were going to rush towards the girl. More sounds this time, animalistic snarls and growls, egging the girl on to either rush her climbing and make a mistake, or accept that she was surrounded."The whisper of the leaves is a rhapsody in green. The whisper of the leaves, a love song from the trees."

Fire Lynix ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓Fire herd the noises her body tensing and she rushed her climbing. She would not go down this easily, this fast or helpless. She reached the top and pulled herself up running in the stream that way she wouldn't leave footprints. She ran into the thick trees using the best of her stamina sine she had already been in more then a few chases today. Fire listened around her for the creatures and she could hear things following her. Like the trees themselves were after her, watching her, waiting to attack her. Anxiety was beginning to take hold and Fire pushed herself to run faster and she finally broke from the stream going in a random direction in the trees. She was panting and loosing her breath already and she tripped over a root falling into the mud. Fire sat up the best she could on shaking hands as she got to her knees her dress slowly getting ruined. 'Is this really the safest place?' she thought to herself as she looked around at the threes trying to see or rather hear if something was still following her.▁ ▂ ▃ ▄ ▅ ▆ ▇ █ ▇ ▆ ▅ ▄ ▃ ▂ ▁

"The gifts that nature brings need someone to care for them. A cornfield in the sun. I sit and wait 'til you come." The moment she had broken out into a sprint, the watcher began moving amongst the treeline. Fast and skillful, as if it had done so on countless occaisions, making sure to keep the girl within an acceptable line of vision. The creatures too followed close behind, staying mostly hidden still by the forest as if going out into the open would kill them. As the watcher began to close the gap, it watched as she fell to the ground, caught by an exposed root, one of thousands in fact. This would be the chance to take if there was any other, as the time she spent on the ground was time spent getting closer and closer. Before long, the watcher was right above her making sure to purposely break a branch overhead so she knew that she was no longer alone. The watcher's figure was noticeably humanoid in shape, but too shadowy to make out any of its features due to the lack of light amongst the trees. There was, however, one thing that was very distinctive: the eyes. They seemed to glow an ominious white, staring down at the girl without hesitation. Soon, a voice could be heard, easily originating from the figure. "You should not be here...why do you tresspass into my domain...?" The voice asked in a low hiss. Although the voice was quiet, it was distinctively that of a males'. As he awaited for her answer, the creatures caught up, still hidden, still seemingly waiting for their chance to strike."The whisper of the leaves is a rhapsody in green. The whisper of the leaves, a love song from the trees."

Fire Lynix ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓Fire coughed as she looked up hearing the things around her. She was able to make out a shape in the shadows of the trees The voice confirmed it was male and Fire found that her eyes had locked with whatever eyes were staring down at her. The question took a while to reach her fully since she had been enchanted by those haunting eyes. Fire did her best to rise to her shaking feet and she kept her eyes on the watcher above her not the creatures around her. "I came here seeking a safe heaven. I am no longer welcomed in my kingdom and came here seeking a place to hide out. Or a passage through." she said her throat was raw and it hurt to speak but she made sure she sounded like she still had strength. No matter how little there was.▁ ▂ ▃ ▄ ▅ ▆ ▇ █ ▇ ▆ ▅ ▄ ▃ ▂ ▁

Artyom Lyca "My memories with you..." The watcher titled his head slightly as the girl answered, she sounded fatigued, quite possibly ready to collapse if she ran any further. "A cast away or not...I cannot let you leave this place so easily." He said, still in that low, harsh whisper. Suddenly, he began to descend, yet the hand that grasped onto the tree truck beside him seemed to stay in place as the rest of the arm lengthened. As the man started to enter the light, his body was soon revealed. From first glance, he looked roughly the same age as her, maybe even a little younger. From another glance, the 'lengthening arm' was in fact a set of vines, seemingly protruding out of the top of his wrist, retracting and disappearing as he touched onto the ground in front of her. The burning white eyes, as it seemed, was nothing more than a trick as well. The cause of it? A pair of fireflies that were once resting calmly on his eyelids. Now as they flew away lazily, the man opened his true eyes, revealing a surprisingly soft blue, much like that of his hair. His face showed no emotion, other than a quirked eyebrow, indicating his slight curiosity towards the girl that stood before him, as if summing up what few options they have. Seemingly bored with what he found, his attention slowly crept away from her to the rustling of the creatures nearby. If she was keeping count, this was yet another one of the watcher's tricks. He clicked his fingers lightly, causing whatever it was to step out of the bushes. Instead of tooth and flesh, there was wood. Yes, the creatures that were following her were nothing more than what appeared to be animated flora. With another click, they fell into piled masses of sticks and vines, the man's attention went back to the girl. "There is no place safer than this forest....or at least that's what I keep telling myself until one of your kind stumbles into here." He said, almost bitterly, although his voice seemed somewhat gentle in comparison to his earlier hisses. Suddenly, he turned around and began to walk, making small motions with his hands that in turn caused plants and trees alike to arc away as if they were afraid of him. A few more steps later, he stopped, turning his head so he could see her out of the corner of his eye. "I can't take you to the outer rim of this forest, but I can allow you to lay low for the night if that is what you wish..." He trailed off, continueing along the forming path. "Unless of course, you know how to survive out here with nothing but what you're carrying.""...are more beautiful than any rose in full bloom."

Fire Lynix ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓Fire watched the spectacle quietly, but couldn't keep the look of shock from her face. Her whole life she was told a monster lived here but now she finds that it is not the creature they had all told her was here. A man..that was all he appeared to be. Fire watched him walk for a moment and she followed a bit of a distance behind him. "So......I may only stay one night? Then I have to fend for myself?" she asked him being blunt and just saying what was on her mind. She might last by herself for a time here, her bag carried not just important documents but two knives, flint stones for fires, and a book on herbs and vegetation she had stolen from a potion maker. She may be able to survive on these things until she found her way out but with all that was unknown here...it was unlikely. Fire had only one set of spare clothes and looked at her clothes now, the hem of the dress had been ripped up to her knee on the way in. She had mud on her face and her clothes and even the sleeves were beginning to be tattered and torn. Fire let out a small sigh and she turned her redish-brown eyes to the man before her. Something about him was foreign and strange much like the air of the forests around them. His hair and eye color alone were amazing to her and new and caught her attention for quite a while without her meaning them too. Fire still waited her questions to be answered but her mind was focused on those tricks he had played with her. Fire could still feel the anxiety growing within her.▁ ▂ ▃ ▄ ▅ ▆ ▇ █ ▇ ▆ ▅ ▄ ▃ ▂ ▁

Artyom Lyca "My memories with you..." The man stopped for a moment and looked over his shoulder once more, his facial expression still rather void of any emotion. From the corner of his vision, he studied her subtly. Tattered clothes, large blotches of dirt and mud on her. All that messy physical appearance and not even a single complaint from her regarding it, she was different from what he was used to. His gaze, although it seemed to look straight passed her, found its way to the girl's eyes. The look she gave him said that either she held no fear...or was just really good at hiding it behind a practiced mask. It did not escape him how attractive she was, having noticed that quite early on during their encounter, but it neither phased him nor did change the fact that she was in a world she did not belong in; His. Looking back forwards, he continued to walk. "If you really must take longer than the night, so be it, but do not expect my hospitality to last." He told her bluntly. Sure, he may be coming off as a little cold in his manner of saying it, but he had his reasons. "As for....'fending for yourself'....as long as you do what I tell you, when I tell you, you won't be in much danger." He added. He didn't bother to expand on the 'much' part, but his message was simple: he knew how to survive effectively in this environment, she did not. The forest was not kind to outsiders, even when it was not him who manipulated it that way. The major percentage of the maze-like expanse was all natural, its inhabitants just as hostile to those who wander inside without an acceptable level of knowledge of it all.
{sorry for the delay, busy couple of days sweatdrop }"...are more beautiful than any rose in full bloom."

Fire Lynix ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓Fire nodded and stayed silent as she followed behind him. She would stay with him for as long as it kept her safe and as long as she could. There was no way for her to return to her kingdom with these documents, they had the seal of the late king and with him having no heir to the throne it would be at least a few weeks before they could get new papers to send for help in the destruction of this place. Fire looked around at all the beauty she saw, so many things she had never seen before and was horrified that the rest of her world wanted to destroy such charming things. It made her sick how cruel humans were to things they didn't understand. Fire's gaze landed on a flower that was the color of flames and whose petals resembled the licks of flames. She smiled at it and kept on walking. In her silent contemplation she looked over the man before her. Other then his rude hostility he was actually..handsome. Strange since he must have been dwelling in this forest for years, maybe even longer then the young maiden had been alive. Fire fixed the bows in her hair trying to resemble some form of decency but knew it wouldn't matter anyway.▁ ▂ ▃ ▄ ▅ ▆ ▇ █ ▇ ▆ ▅ ▄ ▃ ▂ ▁
