It was a few hours till twilight and Navi was sitting on a rock staring at her reflection in the water. She really didn't know what to do. Maybe she could look for a pack to join? She wasn't entirely sure. She had been a rouge for so long that her encounter with Xarmag had been a shock and a bit embarassing at first. It had been so long since she had spoken to anyone, but it had been an extremely nice surprise to finally have someone to talk to. She laid down and rested her maw on her paws and slapped her tail against the ground, she was rather wore out from all the walking and just wanted to sit and watch the sky as it changed colors with the coming darkness.

What the rogue wild dog didn't know was that she had stumbled onto the borders of a very quiet pack. The Amani`Kikundi had few members and was near silent by this time of day, every day. Adolfo found it almost eerie, pups were asleep, adults were silently milling about, communication was just gone. He was in a sulky mood and let himself wander about, including heading towards the border. He had himself convinced he was doing a border patrol, but he knew he just wanted to be alone.

"How could I feel so lonely with family around me." He muttered the rhetorical question sourly, eyes glued to the ground, paw after paw. It was a routine that was nearly daily now. It was all very depressing. This was when it was most beautiful though, as he almost reached the waters edge he gazed up, the sky was lit in purples and oranges, some hints of yellows and reds were seeping through, almost bleeding the colors. He grimaced at the thought of blood and moved forward.

Upon reaching the water, and with little investigation he spotted a very thought heavy female. Even with the trick of lights he could tell she was light and dark brown markings and had a distinct look of loneliness. He smiled, his chance for a friend? He hoped this silently and prayed to the Gods mentally. "Hello there?" He offered, stepping forward a little, testing the wild dogs willingness for companionship during the twilight.

Watching the colors fade into the quickening darkness she let her weary mind come to rest and she watched as the dark waters swirled with the dissapearing colors. She must have allowed herself to become too relaxed because she had no clue the male had approached until she heard his voice cut through the darkness. She lifted nothing but her head and locked her violet gaze on his, her ears perked forward as she watched him take a hesitant step forward and pause. It seemed he was being cautious, to see what she was going to say or do next. Her voice was soft and calm as she replied to the light colored male, "Good evening Stranger." She turned her gaze back to the dying colors as the moons glow quickly began to fill the awning twilight with it's pale glows. She pushed herself up into a sitting position. curling her tail around her feet as she did so. She might as well play it safe for now, he didn't seem a threat, but that could change.

She turned her gaze back to him and made a nod to the last dying colors before the darkness took over, "Lovely evening was it not?" She said curtly as she watched him for a moment more. She felt a small grin creep onto her maw as she remembered he was being cautious, which was always a good sign. "I promise I won't bite.." There was a pause in her words as she looked at the stars that were starting to dot the skyline. "..Unless given reason to." She meant it as a joke, but there was some seriousness behind her words. Soon the stars would cover the sky with their brilliance and to her, this was the best part of the day.

Adolfo soaked in the sweet sound of her voice, it seemed to carry an enchanting hum and he was smiling and feeling a lot more relaxed than when he first entered the area. "Evening.." He said smoothly, then silence. His ears twitched and he followed heer eyes, watching the skies, the water. Seeing the color seeping fom the grounds and seeming to drain into the sky as twilight started becoming a night.

"Oh?" He smirked, her voice told him they'd have a fight if anything suspicious happened, her stance, eyes, and ears told him she was certainly paying attention, regardless how much both of them acted as if it were nothing. He let the silence drag out, the soft cooing of some birds, and some scritching in the woods was all that filled the gap, besides the sound of slow moving water. "Have you always been in the roguelands?" He asked gently, not trying to pry, but hoping for some light conversation.

He turned his head to look at her and gave a smooth smile.

His gentle reply to her greeting was soothing and she couldn't help but smile when he smirked to her joke with a simple response. Perhaps he would take heed of it and try not to do anything foolish. She moved back down to a laying position and listened as the silence filled the night, minus the soft sounds of the evening wildlife. She watched as a fish made ripples on the waters surface and she watched as the dark pools began to reflect the distinct glow of the stars. She smiled and looked up and let out a sigh and turned her gaze back to the male as he asked her a question. She caught his smile and she couldn't help herself. "Have you always been this charming?"

She twitched her tail to flick a rock into the water and she couldn't help but smile. "For as long as I can remember, yes." She replied and rose up so she was standing. She moved from her perch to be level with him and she stood a few feet away from the white male. He was a bit larger than she, but she never let size intimidate her. 'What of you, charming stranger? Have you been here long?" She was being coy now, but it felt good to be genuine, even if it could be considered flirting. Her whole life had been lacking of companionship, especially that of the opposite sex, and his personality just kinda brought out that side of her. She definitely hadn't been so bold with Xarmag, but he had been a gentle soul and just caught of guard as she had been so it had been more of an awkward meeting, but a nice one, none the less.

The smile he bore remained steady and true, he enjoyed nothing more than a good companion and she seemed to meet that goal without trying. The conversation seemed so natural and he felt his entire body relax, even as she moved nearer him and his level he didn't mind at all. It was actually at that point that he felt himself lay down. Typically his mind would be raging at him by now, telling him not to trust, not to underestimate, but he cared very little. "Well, I do believe I have." His smile became sly and joking, she was certainly a gem.

"The roguelands themselves have become a companion of sorts, one I cannot seem to shed. I was part of a pack, well take care of and had company all the time. Once they disbanded I left, I wanted no part of a broken home, no matter how much those smiling faces tried to say otherwise." By the end of his brief, but gray answer his tone changed. The smile was gone and replaced with an emotionless stare into the water. He watched the ripples from the rock she knocked in for a short period of time before meeting her eyes again, as if he had to gather himself together before doing so.

"Do you wander these lands alone?" It was not something he had thought about, perhaps she was a waste of time and had individuals watching their every move. He was certainly not out here to step on anyones toes.

She couldn't help but smile at his response. He was witty, charming and a good conversationalist, at least from what she could tell so far. It was a huge relief to finally have this kind of company and she felt herself relax with his remark. She listened on as he talked about the rougelands being a companion and she realized he couldn't have been more truthful than if he were to tell her that her eyes were violet. However, they were more of a silent companion and she was looking for something with a little more spirit, not that the lands themselves didn't have plenty of that to offer.

She felt a sudden pang of sadness as she watching him go quiet after mentioning the breaking of his pack and she couldn't help but feel the sorrow that was within her breast at that moment. She had longed for nothing more than to belong to a pack and here he was telling her how his had fallen apart and it made her quiet as she looked at the ground until she heard him ask her if she wandered alone, if only he knew. "I'm sorry to hear about your pack... I can only imagine what that must feel like.." She paused briefly before going on, "I do wander alone and have done so since I was very young." After her parents death she had no one. She could hardly remember what they even looked like now.

She wanted to go away from such sad and dark thoughts and she tried to put on the best smile that she could and looked at the water. "Want to go in?"

Sympathy radiated from the female, it was the best feeling he had had in a horribly long time, someone who understood his pains and dread. She didn't want to be alone as much as he didn't want to leave her alone and that made him feel powerful and alive, the sad longing in his eyes changed dramatically. Adolfo had once told himself that if he ever found something alive and supportive he would take it for everything he had and hold on to it tight. She was right up that alley and it nearly took him by surprise.

It was her voice that snapped him free of his day dreaming and a smile, one that was nearly mischievous, had grabbed her maw and twisted it in a way he could only admire. In the moonlight she was stunning, he wondered how he could have missed that. She was beautiful. Her tone grabbed him again and as if her words had pushed him in he dove. The water was cool and refreshing, almost like a new start had washed over him.

"If you would let me, I would like to promise something very important." He gazed at her on the shore, his eyes beckoned to follow him in, but he would not say so outloud. He had many other things on his mind, like promising his companionship to her. A female he had only just met and yet felt a yearning for on many levels. Though the talking, primarily, soothed this poor dogs soul.

iNo sooner had The words escaped her mouth the male was in the water and she couldn't help the grin that formed upon her maw. She watched him in the water and cocked her head slightly as he asked her if he could promise her something, by the tone of his voice and the look in his eyes she might have had a faint idea but she wasn't exactly sure what he could promise her. They had, after all, just met. She had already planned on joining him but the look he had called to her and she walked slowly into the water until she was just inches away from him.

She looked into his eyes and gave a coy smile as she let her tail swish near the waters surface. "What is this promise you wish to grant upon a lonely stranger such as myself?" Her eyes gave a small twinkle and she gazed at him tenderly as she felt the coolness of the water wash over her, almost cleansing like. She took in a deep breath of the night air and let it out slowly as she let her body relax. She had been alone for so long and she longed for companionship and even a life with someone. She felt her heart racing in her chest and she realized she was anticipating what he was going to say.

She took a small step back and wondered why he had this affect on her. When she met Xarmag it wasn't anything like this so it couldn't be from not seeing another in so long. She was nervous and excited and she was curious what he had to say.

It was as if the two had cast some form of ritual, a sense of calm and maturity washed over Adolfo, the nerves and more had been set aside for the time being, perhaps when his body fully realized what his mind already knew he would be tense and worry.

"Companionship." He stated slowly, ensuring the absorb and enjoy the emotions that lingered between the two. "What point have we to separate?" He moved closer, the water creating something of a pause effect as it flowed around him and created gentle ripples behind him. The moonlight bounced in those ripples and seemed to twinkle. "Do you see one?"

His voice had become even more gentle, if at all possible, seeking truth in her eyes and body movement. Words could mean something very important, but the truth was what drove him at this point. He wanted to ensure she would be willing, eager and ofcourse nervous. Heck, he was nervous! If they weren't, than they would be fools. Meeting only hours before such a commitment could end in tragedy, but he felt it was worth a try,

Hopefuly tragedy does not befall these two :3

She trembled as she stood before him, not because she was cold, but because of the words that escaped his maw. She swallowed as he stepped closer and she fought back the urge to take a step back. She was nervous and she wasn't quite sure what to make of these emotions. She looked up at him with nervous eyes and couldn't not see a reason that they should part anytime soon, if at all. His gentle tone, eased her a tad and she took a step towards him so that her face was just a breaths length away from his.

"There isn't one that I can see..." She gave him a coy smile that washed away her tension and nervousness, if only for that moment. "Though, I do see one problem..." She paused as if she was going to say something dreadful. "We don't know each others name." She looked into his eyes, hers twinkling lightly against the moonlight and she decided she would touch him and hope it went well. She leaned her muzzle forward and lightly nudged the spot by his neck and cheek and felt an instant calmness settle over her.

She pulled back and let out a breath she had been holding and felt her heart pounding in her chest. It was an odd feeling for her, being like this. She'd never made a commitment to anyone besides that of friendship before and what she felt right now was far different than anything she had known. She dipped her head gently, in a form of a curtsy so to speak and spoke, "Naveen is my namesake, and what of you my fair stranger?" She wondered if they could indeed make this last. She didn't see why not. She would accept his offer, she just wished to know his name.

I hope not either haha

That pause, it was that pause that stopped his heart and time for a moment that seemed to last a lifetime. Than she made her statement, a very valid one at that. "My name?" He stated unattractively. How could he be so forgetful, he had gotten this far and pulled himself together only in time to be unwound again at her touch. It was magical, to short for him, but wonderful. He could feel the soft breath at his pelt, a chilled nose just barely nearly his skin and warmth filled his heart.

"Adolfo.." He whispered, as though something had caught his throat, he cleared it and casually brought himself up with more confidence. He wasn't always so smooth, but he tried and he silently promised he'd try harder from now on. This female was worth so much more than he could express. "My name is Adolfo, you're name is as beautiful as you are..." The words escaped his maw before he could stop them and though he blushed he did not regret them.

Instead of making that awkward, like it could have been, he found himself moving forward and resting his head just above hers and pulling her back into him. Her scent had a wonderful calming effect on him and he needed that, wanted to thrive on it. "So, Naveen, what do you think about traveling with me?" He offered her again, more appropriately with their names now out in the open. "Perhaps we could find ourselves a home?" He offered and smiled to himself. A pack, what a distant thought that had always been, nuzzling up with Naveen made it seem like a much more real possibility.

User ImageHis name echoed in her mind and she liked the ring it had. It suited him and she blushed at his compliment. She didn't know how to respond and suddenly she found herself against his chest, his warmth seeping into her against the coolness of the water. She felt a warmth within her that filled an emptiness she didn't know was there until now. "Your name suites you." She murmured from her position below him.

Traveling? She had been a traveler her whole life so the fact that he was offering his companionship to do so as well and find a home! It was almost more than she could stand. She had never thought she'd belong to a pack and here he was, offering for them to travel and seek one out, together! She leaned into him and felt a sudden ease wash over her and she couldn't help but almost shout "Yes!... I mean, I would very much enjoy such an adventure with you." She didn't know such a thing could be possible and here it was, the chance for a future.

It had been a long time since she had dreamed of belonging to a pack, let alone having someone to share her time with. It opened up doors for whole new possibilities. Even the chance for a family in the future. Something she had never once let cross her mind was slowing starting to work its way into the light. It made her feel whole.

The silences between those statements spoke more than her words could, she had not moved from him, had not hesitated. So though she appeared to be hesitant with her words, she was simply nervous. He knew that feeling, embracing something so suddenly and so new was overwhelming, even if it felt right and good. With those thoughts in mind he let the grin, already glued to her maw grow slightly, he wasn't sure if there was a happier soul out there at this point. He felt at peace with himself and the world.

"It may not be for a little while though..." He stated the obvious, he was so bad for this and realized it before it was to late and so he began correcting himself rapidly. "I-I mean... what kind of pack would we go to? Would we wander until we find one?" He was stumbling over stupid questions and at the end of them he let out a soft sigh. He was just a bumbling boy sometimes camouflaged by some fancy, bold words here and there.

The stumblings aside he did not move from Naveen, he kept himself right tucked up against her in the water. He wanted to burn the feeling in his mind, how wonderful it would always be.
