Boma'madini looked funny, like ridiculously funny; the grey lioness was rubbing her backside, covered in lichen against a tree stump. Eyes closed she rubbed vigorously, the lichen was burrowing into her fur and skin it wasn't exactly painful, but at times - particularly after a rain it itched like mad! The ground was still moist from the rain of the morning, but was already starting to evaporate.

The goddess never hid her true form, there wasn't a reason to do so in her mind, she'd never encountered a harmful mortal. She was larger, not quite twice the size of the average lion, large antlers, and her skin was riddled with different patches of lichen.

"There we go!" she chimed happily, continuing to scratch.

Kailyana thought at first that she was about to encounter a strange antelope, when she saw the massive antlers through the forest as she walked. After all, what other than some kind of antelope or gazelle could have such horns on its head? So it was to her utter shock and puzzlement that when she rounded a copse of deadfall she was faced with what she could only immediately think of as the offspring of some horned thing and the largest lioness imaginable.

The strange fact that this creature was covered in green lichen didn not even register at first. Her blue eyes fixated on the huge bone structure atop the lionesses head and she simply stared, a frozen shadow of black in the morning poised not too far from where the goddess was relieving her itching against the stump. She didn't know what to say, couldn't think of anything to say at first.

Finally she noticed the green lichen - what an odd thing to have covering your pelt! - and the lionesses actions, and words came easily. "....Are you alright?" Perhaps there were better words, but those were the first that were brave enough to come out.

Boma'madini only paused in her scratching when she heard a voice. Was she alright?

"Oh, umm..yes, just reaching an i-itch," her voice quivered as she was slightly embarrassed, "The green stuff burrows deep, and likes moisture." Boma personally hated moisture, she didn't like bodies of water of any kind from puddles to swamplands.

The goddess looked at the pure black lioness curiously, she'd never met anyone (at least not in this lifetime) that was just one color.

"I'm Boma'madini, thhanks for your concern? I think." She grinned awkwardly.

"I'm Kailayna..." Her eyes finally torn away from the antlers atop the lioness' head, she fixated now on the lichen. "...Is that growing on your fur? Do you need help getting it off?"

She could easily see how it would be a difficult if not impossible task to complete alone. That lichen was in places it would be hard to bite or scratch at with her own claws. "I could help you if you like?"

She badly wanted to ask the lioness about the antlers, but she would wait a bit. Maybe they were fastened to her head by some way that wasn't immediately apparent. There had been lions she'd come across wearing strange things before, after all, and painted in odd ways, but this was in fact the weirdest thing she'd witnessed. It didn't even cross her mind that this was a goddess in front of her. The only unaccountable thing about the gray lioness was that she was so large, and even that wasn't so odd in and of itself, Kai thought.

The goddess took a moment watching as Kailayna looked from her antlers and then directly at her, the lichen across her body.

Boma'madini chuckled, a full and earthy sound; "I wish it would come off, but it's a part of me." She was 'born' with it, it had been there since she was born, and if she tried to tare at it, it would bleed just as if she tore her own flesh. "Just as the antlers on my head, or the color of my fur, I suppose that's just the way it is."

"I've seen other gods, with wings so large they might topple over, or ones with ridiculously big tails!" She didn't like the idea of a poofy tail, thick like a leopards, she thought her own was just perfect.

The black shadow of a lioness continued to stare, first in confusion, and then with growing surprise and shock and some other emotion that she didn't quite understand. The lionness in front of her had just said the lichen and the antlers were a part of her. That she was born with them... But how could that be possible?

Her eyes lit up with absolute shock however when the lioness claimed to be a god. Could that be true? Were there actually gods? Kai had heard other lions mention such things in passing, but had never paid them much heed. Yet here she was faced with a lioness claiming to be one. And she had to admit to herself, as she stood there, tail twitching, eyes wide, taking in the strange appearance of the lioness, that if there were such a thing as gods, the odd vision in front of her would certainly fit the bill.

"You are.... a goddess?" The words came out of their own, much as they had earlier. She hadn't mean to sound so confused and perhaps disbelieving, but her tone of voice didn't seem to currently be under her control when the words just slipped out of her mouth as they had. If she was a goddess, she didn't want to offend her. "Truely? Gods exist?" There, perhaps her wondering tone had covered up some of her incredulity from moments ago.

Boma'madini wasn't shocked by Kailayna's reaction to her words, she knew that sometimes mortals went their entire short lives without ever meeting a divine being. She didn't laugh at this only thought for a moment, she did indeed exist, she was standing before the black lioness.

"Yes, we truly exist," she answered and added, "Each god has their own domain, something that they're made from, that they rule over - I am the goddess of minerals." Some knew of her domain, while others did not, Boma was not a very powerful god, the belief in her area of expertise wasn't very prominent.

Boma looked down at the ground and concentrated for a moment, able to search beneath her paws for a particular mineral - something that would be beautiful and impress the mortal. Able to identify small particles of precious gems. Small pieces of garnet and tourmaline rose to the surface as she thought. And she looked to Kai for a reaction.

"This is an example of something I can do," her words escaped her rather breathless.

"There is a god for everything....?" For some reason, although it shouldn't, this struck her as strange and wonderful at the same time. A god for the stars, the sky, the wind, the earth under her feet... she had never thought of this before, at least no more than in passing.

The goddess' act of demonstrating her powers distracted her from any such further pondering however, and rather swiftly.

Kai gasped in absolute wonder as the ground itself seemed to shift and part in front of the goddess' paws between the two of them. Earth shifted and parted of its own accord, urged by no paw or claw or tool. It was if she was witness to a plant growing fast enough for her to see it happen, which was impossible. Even so, what happened was unmistakable. Before her wondering eyes, gemstones - raw and uncut but still brilliantly beautiful - bloomed from the otherwise undisturbed earth, like small flowers that would last forever and never wilt. Their colors glinted in her eyes. This was the most amzing thing the lioness had ever seen in her lifetime.

"You... moved the very earth without touching it..." Her voice was reverant, respect flying into her words. If she had doubted before, she did no longer. There was a goddess in front of here. Nothing else would explain what had jusr happened.

"What else can you do?" Kai's blue eyes lifted to the goddess' own, tail twitching now in rapt facination.

The old Boma, the Boma before this lifetime would look smug at the respect in the mortal's tone, but the reborn Boma'madini was merely curious at the shadowy lioness' reaction, had she never seen a god before? Had she never spoken to someone of divine blood? They were so much more prominent, seemingly more and more revealing themselves every day.

"Of everything, I have a friend, the Goddess of Souls, and her daughter The Goddess of Remembrance." She wasn't personally friends with any of the other immortals that frequented the mountain of the gods, but she'd seen them, and hidden from the scary one that guarded the gate.

"What else?" Boma giggled, a childlike sound, She thought what she should reveal, "I can speak to them, the stones the minerals..they can tell me about weaknesses within a structure, or how strong they are, they're not always happy." Minerals had 'voices' to the goddess, Boma could hear them complain from years of strain. "I can change the density within minerals, a while ago, I made a cheetah's jewelry more flexible..it was very tight on his leg."

"I can turn a part of living matter to stone, petrify it. I have never done this to anything living. But, in theory I could turn a paw to stone." This power scared her, frightened her like no other, she refused to use it on others.

"There are gods of... of everything?" the wonder just wouldn't seem to leave her voice now. A goddess was in front of her. She repeated this to herself several times silently. A real goddess. A. Real. Goddess.

The thought reeled through her head for a little while before she could catch hold of any other thoughts. Only the lioness in front of her speaking again was able to snap her back to reality. And was the goddess' voice slightly different from a normal lioness'? Or was that just her imagination now that she had realized the other's true nature? Kai wasn't sure, but she didn't linger on the thought, as there were too many others that were much more pressing.

"You can speak to them...?" That was absolutely facinating and puzzling information at the same time. She just couldn't conceptualize what stones and minerals and jewels would sound like, if they were to have voices? Woulds they be rough? Would they seem to sparkle and sound beautiful if they were the voices of gemstones? A hundred questions raced through her mind.

Once again the words of the goddess brought her back to reality and out of her thoughts. "Oh, I'm sure he was very thankful for that..." she blinked several times, wondering if the goddess ever made jewlry herself. Such a gift would be... would be an incredible thing. Something she suddenly desired, but dare not ask for.

A shudder trailed down her spine and she involuntarily found herself taking a step back from the light colored lioness. "That sounds like a terribly powerful ability...I'm sure it would make it very easy to defend yourself if you ever were threatened..." Despite this information she didn't feel like she should view the other as a threat, after all, she had done nothing to make her be fearful. But still, Kai was no fool, and she didn't want to anger a goddess.

"I honestly can say I did not know that gods and goddess' existed before now...." She couldn't help but stare at the lioness for a moment or two, the tip of her tail twitching just slightly. "Not in any real physical sense any way... Your abilities seem amazing... I can't imagine being able to summon or create or alter something so beautiful..." Her eyes dropped to the gemstones the goddess had summoned from the earth, a token of the goddess' power. "It's amazing..."

(Sorry, muse for Boma = fleeting. XD She's in my head but not all at once.)

Boma'madini smiled happily, she'd taught a mortal something, perhaps even changed the way that Kailayna thought of things. It pleased the Goddess, knowing she could possibly have an impact on others lives.

"Everything," she nodded and then pondered talking to the minerals; they didn't speak like lions..or other animals, but they had their own personalities some were under such stress that they could barely speak a whisper, others were so close to the surface that they were almost happy, elated to speak to something other than their fellow minerals.

"They talk, but really only telling me their state in light, like if they have pressure baring down on them, or if there is a weak place in the structuring." Boma saw the minerals, right down to their molecular structuring - although as a lion she had no clue what she was witnessing, just that when she looked into the minerals there they were, bumping and jostling for her attention.

"The cheetah liked that I changed his bracelet, but he was also a little strange too," the goddess laughed. "I like making things, if..you'd like something, I can bond the minerals together, but I'm no artist." she liked the idea of a mortal carrying something she made, and Kai was very pleasant.

( heart It's okay. :3 I have muses that are like that too ^.^ )

Still enthralled, Kailaya took the Goddess' smile as a sign of good fortune. She hadn't upset the Goddess, that was good to know. Perhaps she'd made her happy with her admiration, or educating her on the fact that gods and goddess' were real. Kai couldn't know what she thought, and didn't ask. Wouldn't even think of asking, really. It would be rude, and with a god, no way was she going to risk that.

She tilted her head in curiosity, watching the gray lioness with the antlers as she seemed to consider nothing at all, and then somehow the ground. It appeared to Kai as if she was reveling in a scent, or listening to a far off noise... it was truly something interesting to watch, any way, the way the goddess listened to her domain.

"Ah... I see..." It was strange to think of minerals - rocks and pretty gems and rocks, in Kai's mind - as things that could talk in any capacity at all. They weren't alive, right? But then, this was a Goddess in front of her, the normal rules didn't apply. To her, certainly they might have voices. Kai just couldn't imagine, so she only accepted.

"The cheetah was lucky to have met you and have you willing to help him." she smiled genuinely, then blinked in surprise. The thing she hadn't dared ask... the Goddess was offering freely. She was almost struck mute, but managed to reply. "I... being given something from a Goddess... I couldn't fathom... I mean.. any gift from you would be an honor that I would treasure my whole life." She bowed her head and then her body slightly to show respect.
