Taryn tugged Mort out the door and gave him a bit of a Look and a little shake. What had happened to him? She was fairly certain that if she touched his head, she'd get a shock.

"Um..." she turned then to Alex and Yin, whom she had spoken with briefly. They... could make a group. They could all survive the trials together. "The trials... do you want to make a group? I think we could work well together." She still held Mort's arm tightly, regardless of his mental state.

Alex had left the assembly with Yin, but was somewhat surprised at how quickly they were followed out by Taryn, who appeared to be dragging Mort along behind her. Had the other boil still not quite snapped out of his mental shock? He turned to face the two of them fully.

"I'd be fine with the four of us making a group." He grinned, since this was really what he had been leaning towards when he had mentioned it to Taryn in the gymnasium. "You'll have to decide who is going to lead though.." He suddenly frowned, leaning towards Mort to snap fingers in front of the boils face. "Mort!" He half shouted at the other zomboil, trying to wake up him up from whatever stupor his mind had placed him in. He then glanced towards Yin with a questioning look.

"What do you think? Would you be okay with it?"

Mort had not yet "awakened" despite their efforts, his eyes still retaining that dazed look, his movements more zombielike and unconscious. For all intents and purposes he looked like a walking puppet.

Inside, however, was a storm of activity. While the brain took time to "restart" so to speak, it busied itself multitasking with thoughts. Many, many thoughts. This and that and those, centered around the trial: what to do, how to do it, who should lead, how they should plan. The options were many in number and should have been overwhelming, causing him to short out again - but no, this time Mort's brain was ready and willing to take on the task. It was as if Natalia's friendly kiss had sparked that wire needed to make him face the tasks and choices left before him.

Quietly, in the background, his head began to hum like a PreC booting up.

Somehow, sadly, it always seemed that the little monster was late on the comings and goings of everything around her. Most of the time Temes kept to herself because it was easiest and best to avoid getting in situations that would result in her getting hurt (like most everything), but somehow or another she'd gotten wind of a commotion and she decided it was safe enough to leave her dorm room and figure out just what was going on. She heard mention of something called 'trials' and then something called 'horseman trials' and all in all that made her nervous and worried.

Still she felt brave enough to try and see for herself what was going on, not just let her imagination take over and fear keep her trapped, so she waddled out and started looking for people she knew. Thankfully it didn't take her long and she set her eyes on a group of four - all of whom she was on speaking terms and name terms with. So far so good! "Ah, um!"

Temes raised her hand and called out to them as she walked over, her steps slow and nervous. She'd kept to herself after Scarentine's day and that hot mess, so this was....different.

Would he be okay with it? Well, he could keep his eye on Alexander, Mort was nice enough, and while yes, Miss Taryn was a ghoul, she seemed nice enough. He nodded in agreement to the proposition. "I cannot think of any problem with this as a group." He glanced at Mort, who seemed to be stunned, and then at Miss Taryn, before back at Alexander. "As Miss Taryn is the only female would it not be natural for her to lead us?" He shrugged, not terribly concerned.

A voice called out and Yin turned with a hand lifted. "Greetings M---" His voice trailed off as he realized who it was walking toward them, mind racing. For one, he could not say Mademoiselle Temes' name out loud with out risking her wrath. For two...well the last time they had spoken he had upset her. And now he was replaying that conversation in his mind. He had told her that no one had like him, only to find out later that evening he had been wrong. And now...now he was standing next to Alexander, his bonded, and if she found out would she thing that he was trying to brag that he had found someone? It worried him and so he simply dropped his hand and said nothing, waiting for someone else to talk. Alexander was good at things like that.

Wait, what? Being the only ghoul meant she should be in charge? While Taryn didn't disagree with the sentiment, the idea behind it all was a little... skewed. Her eyes narrowed momentarily, and she inhaled as if to say something.

...what did you say to that?

Luckily, a sudden distraction appeared. A broad smile split the chimera's face and she waved at the tiny shape approaching.

"Chuppi! Hi!" Maybe she was interested in a group too? She'd seen the little ghoul in her natural form, and she'd looked fierce enough.

Alex nodded at Yin's consent that this group would not be a problem for him. turning back towards Mort and cocking his head to the side curiously. He reached out as though to poke the other zomboil in the head. He then remembered Mort's 'shocking' abilities and reconsidered, letting his hand drop back down to his side instead. There was a sudden strange noise coming from Mort's head, and Alex, while mildly concerned, decided that the other boil was likely just in the middle of a mental restart and if he left him alone, eventually he would come back to them.

His worries set aside for now, Alex backed away from the other zomboil, shoving his hands deep in his pockets as he took a couple of steps back to stand beside Yin again. "Uh..leader? Oh, well...." Alex hadn't really considered which of the Year Two's should be their leader at this point. He was more inclined to lean towards Mort because, well, zombie power and all that. But if Yin was more comfortable with a female taking on the leadership role.....

It was an awkward choice that he didn't feel comfortable being involved in making.

Movement further down the hallway caught his eye, and he happily jumped on the distraction, glancing over to see the familiar figure of Chuppi making her way towards them. He raised his hand from a pocket to wave back to her, giving her a large smile as she approached. "Hey, Chuppi!" He greeted, but then remembering something, along with hearing the hesitation in Yin's own greeting, eyed the weremantis. Oh right, he had ran into some kind of personal dilemma with Chuppi on Scarentines Day, hadn't he? To try and divert attention from Yin's sudden awkward behavior, he kept speaking towards the new arrival.

"Are you thinking about joining the trials as well?" He inquired.

(( Is cool, hun~))

Mmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg.... The humming didn't so much stop as it did lower in volume, but it was a good sign. So was the slight twitching of the zomboil's hands. And then, from nowhere, he said calmly, collectively:

"I am kissable."

Mort's eyes still had the dreamy look in them, but they weren't nearly as glassy-eyed as before; he was back, in part if nothing else. The zomboil slumped a bit against the wall, grinning boyishly at the group's collective feet - and a pair of shoe-less green ones he'd seen before.

"Haiiii, Chuppi," he greeted, once again happily but still sorta out of it. He registered that they were no longer in the auditorium, but that didn't matter too much; Mort had heard all he needed to hear from the horseman by the time he shorted out. Good timing too, because he wasn't sure he'd be able to have chosen groups - good thing they'd simply chosen him!

Thunk went his butt to the ground as he slowly slid there, back against the wall, looking like he just had woken from the greatest dream evar. Alex had already asked the question, so he felt not need to repeat it.
