Isifo had opted out of attending the large gathering for the Firekin. Several of his kin from the Red Quarter had left, their muscles taught with worry and anticipation. The Firekin, save for their initial doubt, had been hospitable with them. The Hongshan were isolated, but they were proud, and the group of lions with a strange culture had not told them how to live their lives.
Perhaps that had changed today.
Isifo waited in anticipation close to the small plot of sand and rock he and Ukuba occupied at night. Other Hongshan had begun to trickle in, so it would only be a matter of time before the return of his brother.

Kaelyndra So sorry for the delay hun! The expression on Ukuba's face as he reached the Red Quarter was one of deep thought. A lot had been said during the meeting, not all of it positive. It was clear that not all Firekin were as welcoming as others, and despite having the support of the leaders of the Firekin, the presence of the Hongshan was never going to sit well with the Firekin in its entirety.
When his dark purple eyes finally fell on his brother, he allowed himself a small smile. Isifo was the one he trusted above all others, the one who he would happily lay his life down for. As far as relationships between brothers went, theirs could not be stronger. When he reached him, he gave him a rough nudge in the shoulder. "Was everything alright whilst I was at the meeting Brother?"
Growing up, Isifo had always tried to get Ukuba to stop worrying about him, but he had never succeeded. As adults, despite the fact that Isifo was both bigger and more skilled in battle than Ukuba, the red and black male still worried about his brother.
