Anthony Darrow had a good time at the ball, and was a little woozy from the drinks he had allowed himself. Still, even that buzz was wearing off as the evening settled into deep night, and the cab pulled up in front of Kyndall's home.

He had offered to take her home, but since he had not brought his car to the party his offer turned into simply paying for her cab and accompanying her in the ride so he could perhaps hold the door open for her and be a gentleman that way.

He moved toward the other side of the car once they stopped and opened the door for her so she could step out. He paid the driver and told him to leave, capable of walking himself home from here and not wanting to be charged further for the simple act of driving from one place to another.

Offering Kyndall his arm, he smiled at her dotingly and walked her to the front door.

"I had a very good time tonight. It was an incredible success, you should feel very proud of yourself." He bent to kiss her on the cheek, to say goodnight, but was struck with the feeling that he didn't want to go yet. Or maybe he wasn't supposed to go yet.

He pulled back, face a little red, admiring her in the glow of the starlight and the distant streetlamps.

"I had a good time with you tonight."

Forgetting for a moment that she'd done a good deed and had raised money for charity and forgetting that the show's opening had been that night she simply enjoyed her time with the man currently in front of her. When it came right down to it very little mattered when she was with him. Kyndall was very much in love and had no doubt this man standing before her was probably going to be the love of her life. He made her recklessly happy and she hoped she did the same for him.

She, too, was struck by this feeling that she didn't want him to go and unlocked her door, gesturing him to come in. Harmony would be at the ball until much later. She'd been too tired to try and stay all night. The ball was set in motion and she'd done the auctions she planned on doing. It all raised a good amount of money. For that she was happy and was sure it was well in hand by the others helping her. She didn't need to stay.

She was glowing with pride and joy as she stepped aside and let him into the house. Home sweet home.

"Tea?"

He probably didn't need anymore alcohol so she didn't offer him wine. Besides, she had the feeling they should both be sober tonight. She felt like a queen in her dress and wore it well. The tiara in her hair and necklace she wore with special pride as gifts from him to compliment her outfit. As she made tea she took out the tiara and let her hair fall down, sighing in relief. She ran her fingers through it a few times with her eyes closed, feeling better as she waited for the kettle to heat.

"Thank you for coming with me tonight."

She needed to talk to him about something important, something special, and was trying to work her way up to it.

Tony smiled at her, admiring her and thinking he had stumbled into something by luck here. Like he was living a moment from someone else's life, someone far more handsome, suave, and capable of attracting such a beautiful, vivacious woman. Someone who had something worth such attention, a man who had something to give in return.

A man far different from the man Tony viewed himself to be.

He followed her into the house, the familiar entry way welcoming him as easily as his own home did. He smiled at the comfort, arching an eyebrow at her offer of tea. He didn't drink it very often, but since she offered he nodded his head and accepted it graciously.

"Have I told you how beautiful you look? I have barely been able to take my eyes off you all night... which I'm sure you've noticed and are well creeped out by at this point in the evening."

He was apparently not listening to her, his thoughts elsewhere. He heard her thanking him for coming with her, but what could he say to that? You're welcome? It wasn't something he had done as a gift to her. It wasn't something he could accept a thank you for: he was damn fortunate to have been given the chance. He was the one that should be thanking her, for being his date. For being interested in him at all.

He scooted into the kitchen with her, getting closer but not too close. There had to be some boundaries between them, he was sure, even if he couldn't feel them yet. It would be just his luck to cross them and get himself in a heap of trouble.

"Uhm. Do you need any help?" With the tea she very clearly had well in hand and he had absolutely no idea how to make. Something told him she was fine, there.

"No, I'm actually flattered by it. I couldn't take my eyes off of you, either. Armor suits you."

And it did but then again she'd always known that even before she knew him to be Camelot. She didn't mind as he scooted closer, catching his hand with hers and beaming a smile in his direction from a sideways glance. She didn't seem to have any problems with him being close. Nor did she seem to have any problems with boundaries around him. She simply wanted him near her always if he'd accept those terms. Harmony loved him and she loved him. He'd been good in both of their lives before she came to love him. He continued to be just as good for her now that they were a couple.

She, too, felt grateful he offered her his time and energy and she acknowledged that to herself as she offered him his teacup. Her smile grew thin, though, thinking of what she wanted to say and how to say it. He was more important to her than she could put into words and it was little things. Important things that he did that made her swoon when he walked into the room. Really, where he went her eyes followed and when he was near she was comforted. With that she moved closer to him, their shoulders touching, almost, as she leaned against the counter.

"You didn't want to play Uther." she commented softly, musing it as she spoke. "But you did it for me."

He didn't know how much that meant to her. Something as simple as doing something for her benefit even when he had nothing to gain for it meant the world to a woman who'd spent her entire life living for someone else. Now that Harmony was proving to be quite capable of handling things on her own someone else had fallen into Kyndall's lap that not only made her deliriously happy but lived for her as much as she did for him. She took a sip of tea, not very thirsty for it, and continued on. She needed to revisit this topic though they'd been here before with limited success. She didn't want to push him but he needed to know.

"Every day I am more in love with you, Tony. I didn't think love was meant to be mine in this life. I certainly didn't look for it. But you fulfill me in a way I could not conceive of when I was younger...before I met you. I know I said I didn't want to push you but with tonight and everything you've done and how much you mean to me...I just..."

Lacking words she hoped her lips could convince him in the only way she could resort to.

Tony listened quietly as she explained how much she loved him. He blushed slightly, but it was not from embarrassment so much as it was attraction. The man was approaching his fortieth birthday, and yet she made him feel like a high school kid, exploring the depth of feelings he was capable of for the first time.

It was overwhelming and fascinating, and certainly terrifying. He felt sick to his stomach and light headed, cold and hot, excited and ready to pass out from anxiety. And this was just how he normally felt whenever he was near her: he had not even touched the new sensations he felt when he took in how beautiful she was, and how strongly the urge to be near to her called to him.

He would implode or explode or something equally catastrophic before too long.

As she spoke he listened, quiet, looking down at the tea she had made for him. He wasn't thirsty for it, either, but at least it was a good excuse for distraction. He sipped at it timidly.

"Kyndall..." he looked up at her as she trailed off, then found himself meeting her for a deep, loving kiss. He caressed her face lightly, drawing her to him, his other arm sliding around her back to hold her close. He didn't bother breaking the kiss, his lips still against hers as he spoke. It was barely a breath above a whisper, and necessarily muffled.

"I love you, too."

"Tony."

She renewed the kiss, sliding her arms around him and near to tears with happiness. Those three small words incited a riot in her that would not soon be soothed. Her heart thumped so loudly in her chest she swore he heard it. Her mind was racing with thoughts that seemed to have no form and her blood sped along her veins carrying with it pure bliss. He loved her and that was all that mattered. There were not words for how happy he made her, what he meant to her. She simply had no words.

Actions took over at that point, setting the tea aside with her lips still pressed firmly to his. She didn't want to let him go and saw no reason for it. They were adults in love and alone and in her mind they had done everything they were supposed to to make sure this relationship took its sweet time. Now, in light of those words and how she felt she could not contain her love for him and her hands started working at the outer layers of his costume, shedding the over laid pieces of it to drop on the floor when she let them go. She hummed against his lips, making the very conscious choice to cross a very large waypoint if he was up for it. This was the next plateau for them.

"Take me to bed, Tony." she whispered softly, pressed against him. "Stay with me tonight."

It was implied in her words she had very little interest in sleeping right away.

Tony drew back after a moment, looking at her in surprise. More at himself then at her. He knew he loved her, but he was actually nervous now. Legitimately, and he realized it was because this, this line, was one he had not crossed in some time.

"I..."

He had just told her she was in love with her, but he was stunned by how much anxiety shot through him at her words. She softly asked him to take her to bed, and he knew she did not mean to sleep. He was still dressed in his costume from the play, and though she had gotten some of the 'armor' off, there was more to go. He caught her hands.

"I haven't... I mean... it's been a little while..." he said sheepishly, looking at her and trying to ignore the burning across the bridge of his nose and up to the tip of his ears. He ran his thumb down her cheek, though, and calmed a little. He trusted her, of course.

"Alright," he breathed, kissing her again.

"It's been a long time for me, too." she admitted quietly. She wasn't going to say how long, exactly, as she found the number of years to be embarrassingly high. This would probably be the first instance of actually making love in her entire life. It didn't matter, though, how much time had passed since the last time. With him everything felt entirely new and very little was able to puncture this happy bubble that formed around her when he was near.

Especially on the euphoric high that came with him telling her that he was in love with her.

She returned his passionate kiss, something vaguely familiar about this whole thing though she didn't know how. that could be. It was the perfect end to the perfect day all told. The play went well and the ball accomplished its goal and now she was happily wrapped up with a man she loved dearly. The thought occurred to her to ask if this was really happening but as he pressed closer the answer came back a resounding yes.

She kissed him again, unable to get enough of his lips but as she pulled back she caught his eyes with her own.

Perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Tony closed his eyes and took a breath. They were both nervous. At least there was that. It did not make him feel any less so, in a way, but comforted in another. He smiled at her tenderly.

He had to break their kisses and closeness so he could pick her up. He carried her toward her bedroom, remembering it well enough from when she had asked him to help her clean out her closet. He had no trouble, even with his weak leg, carrying her to their destination.

Everything moved in a slow motion blur of colors and sound, and only a few things came in clearly to him. She was the most important, beautiful and lovely as he carried her to the bed and eased them down onto the comforters. He hardly thought about it as he scooted them up to the pillows, legs on either side of hers until he backed away to help her with her clothes.

The night danced itself away around the two lovers, lost in each other's embrace and passion.

She allowed herself to be whisked away by her handsome knight in shining armor. She wasn't nervous anymore because she knew this was something meant to be. Once the bedroom door closed Kyndall lost sight of everything but him. The night was lost to newfound bliss and the passion he roused so easily came to fruition. Afterward she lay in his arms with her head on his chest and her arms and legs draped carelessly over his body. She glowed with love.

Her eyelids drooped little by little as she listened to the sound of his even breathing and the constant thump of his heart beneath her ear. she was vaguely aware of Harmony coming in sometime just before she fell asleep and didn't think a thing of it, hoping the teen did not stop in the kitchen to see Tony's discarded armor. From there it wouldn't be too hard to surmise what happened.

Oh, well. She was an adult and in love with the world's greatest guy. She could do as she pleased. That thought made her smile as she finally drifted off to sleep.
