This was the grove that the cerynei had grown up in. No one about but the birch trees to be there for him, no one but them to offer him warmth and comfort when he needed it. Perhaps it was that loneliness that lead him into finding his true purpose. Perhaps it was these trees that guided him into realizing he was the perfect one for the job. After all, they knew how to keep secrets, so perhaps it was even them that taught him how.

They swayed gently and whispered to him when he was quiet enough to listen... which was admittedly most of the time. They stood without judgement, their white bark calming and peaceful to look at.

Betula leaned up against one just then, resting a cheek against the bark, ear pressed up against it, listening. What would this tree tell him today?

The wind blew gently as the pale, pastel colored mare took to the beautiful sky. It was bright blue with few clouds. She let her eyes close slowly and simply enjoyed the air weaving it's way through her pelt. Nokomis hadn't seen many other horses, her and Arden shared a few evenings here and there, ending in her pregnancy. The thought tickled her pink and caused a few butterfly fluttering feeling rumble through her abdomen. She giggled softly and this was the moment she chose to open her eyes. There, below a single cloud, cluttered in a group was a few birch trees. Curious, she took to the grounds.

"What have we here?" She cooed, her voice soothing as she spoke to the trees. These were her family and she treated them like that, no matter what she region she strayed too. Her belly gave a gentle heave, as if the youngsters in her stomach read her mind, they were home, safe and getting more active. A giggle trickled from her lips and she nosed her stomach lightly, a comforting nudge. "Yes, yes.. these are our family." She spoke to no one in particular, completely unaware that there was a stallion, not even 20 or so feet away.

"I hope you can meet these birch trees one day." She seemed to purr quietly, her eyes staring happily about, paying mind to the roots jutting free from the ground as she walked. Folding her wings, it was made clear she was sticking about.

Betula noticed the interruption almost instantly. It wasn't often that he had others pass through his grove unless they were here to see him, so the spoken voice had him perking his ears up immediately and turning his head towards it. He took a step forward so that he could look around the tree and see the owner of the voice. Staying silent, he watched the newcomer as she spoke to the trees of his home. If he hadn't decided to stay silent, he probably wouldn't have been able to speak up right away anyways.

The mare was a thing of beauty. Tall, pale, and peaceful, the angeni competed with the forest for beauty, and if asked to choose, he wouldn't be able to pick one over the other. It wasn't until she folded her wings away that he came out of this stupor when he felt a light breeze weave through the trees and cradle his face. It was almost like she was hugging him all the way over here, but he was pretty sure that she hadn't even spotted him yet!

Deciding to put himself forward he moved closer to the mare, making sure to stay in front of her so as not to startle her. He strode slowly, and made sure to keep his head not up high, but not low enough that it looked defensive or offensive. He couldn't help but smile when he looked at the mare, so that was a given, but even his eyes seemed to smile. It was impossible not to feel lighter on one's feet in this angeni's presence. Maybe it had something to do with her domain? He would have to ask her later.

In his calm voice, he announced his presence, making sure to come up at an angle to her even though his small frame shouldn't be intimidating, he wouldn't want to startle a pregnant mare. "They will await their arrival." He assured her, nodding his head in a gentle bow, "Betula, Secret-Keeper. Welcome to my grove."

The stallion had gone unnoticed to Nokomis, she was contentedly with her and her belly of foals. She was happy to be a to be parent. She'd met foals before and thought the world of their little hearts that could be so big and full of curiousness. She imagined her foals in silence, frolicking and simply enjoying life. Her eyes lit up even more, if that was really even possible. That was when a shadow caught her eye and remaining calm she took in a slow breath. Knowing full well there were good and bad Soq out there she stood ready.

When the stallion made him completely obvious she made a point of giving him a once over. It was no wonder Noko couldn't see him, his pelt was made for blending with what she assumed was his home area. His eyes were clean, innocent and full of light. He was a happy, quiet soul that deemed no danger to her and so her tensed muscles relaxed. Her wings shuffled lightly, shaking free any left over stress from the moment and she was a picture of soothing energy once more.

"Such a sweet thing to say, your trees are very pretty. I admire them, much like I admire your matching pelt." Her voice was smooth and carried the same soothing energy. She moved forward, to show her trust in him. "Nokomis, Angeni of Mother Nature." Upon introducing herself, she produced a bow to match his and spoke again. "Thank you." Her smile glowed, radiant as sun rays glowing through fresh, green leaves.
