I'd ask if anyone would be willing to make something in the classes part of this guild to teach me but that seems like it would be asking a lot. I'm asking because the whole dice thing seems cool, plus I'm thinking of joining a naruto guild that uses the dice system but... I don't know how to use it lol so how do you fight with the dice system crap? And do you do eeeeeeeeverything with the dice? So confusing lol someone help me out?

Some dice systems vary. In most cases the die are used while in battle.

Some chose to follow a D&D or table top game sort of system to decide if an action is effective or not. Sadly I'm not a D&D player so I can't explain that system properly. But it seems that Wrasynth can. Thanks hun.

Some chose to divide the die, like on a 20 sided die if you roll a 1-5 you miss, 6-15 low damage, 11-19 major damage, and 20 is like an instant kill or something like that.

Another form of use of it is that all characters start at the same level and given the same amount of points. Let's say level 1 or class E (beginners) start at 50 points. You roll the die and whatever number you land on takes away that many points from that person. As you advance in skill and level you will get more point and perhaps more die to use for more effective attacks.

You'll have to see how they are using the dice system in their RP to be sure of which. Once you have it'll just take a bit of time to get use to it and remember to use it.

In my personal opinion the die system is relatively a great way to play out battles leaving wins to chance and it helps to eliminate godmodders. But it also presents the problem of people who are not satisfied with their rolls trying to quickly delete their posts and reposting so that they can get a higher number. And I'm speaking out of experience with that one.

Just in case you don't know how to use the dice below the the area where you make your post is the "Post Action" drop box.

-Click on it and you'll be given an option of "roll dice" or "random number".

-Click on "Roll Dice"

-From there you'll have the option of the type of sided dice to use and how many to roll.

-Select the proper dice and amount based upon the dice system of the RP and for your level if there is one and hit submit once you've finished with your reply.

D&D is essentially dice checks and modifiers. You have a skill and x amount of modifiers give you penalties and bonuses. So you need to make DC 15 to not choke on your own tongue. Modified by your dexterity stat.

HOORAY I DON'T DIE! o_@ To celebrate I offer you monocle emote.

Honestly though I might consider running a table top game here. Although I would prefer over skype.

Hmm I don't think it'd be a bad idea, cause I could use some learning n to dice rp.

As long as it isn't too complicated I wouldn't mind sitting in on something like that. Plus it could act as a much needed class/guide on table top based dice RPs.

But what's the big deal about Skype? I only ask because I and most of the people I regularly communicate with doesn't use it.

Just enough use it for me to want to. Honestly though I wouldn't really care either way. Mumble or vent or what ever. I do have a mumble server we could use. Plus if people got in there I'd be much more likely to remember to try and get this stuff running.

I'm not sure what kind of table top game I'd run. God forgive me I almost want to start out with a session of D&D 4th ed to training wheels some you guys in. Really simple, point buy based stats. Very simple class and race creation options. Unless you get into the wide variety of splats they cranked out to try and choke sales down people's throats; or you want to play anything else that doesn't feel like an MMO.

I feel so stupid about this.

There is already a guide on how to use dice in RPs. It was not in the classes but in the guides.

So it is. o_o Oh well. I can still run a table top game. We'd just have to figure out what.

Actually, a really good book to read is Dungeons & Dragons for Dummies (and DM for Dummies if you REALLY want to get in depth about it). They give you a pretty good idea of how many of the d20 systems operate. But there are also game systems based around your standard dice (also known as a d6). I've seen some pretty engaging tales come out of just using 6d6 (6 dice with 6 sides) for every decision.

I can try to answer more direct questions as they come up. I've never actually played a tabletop RPG; but I've read a surprisingly large amount of publications relating to it. Not to mention I've sat in on one RPG group for nearly a year. I was the unofficial "assistant GM in charge of in-universe continuity", but I've never actually played the game.

NOTE: You don't need to buy the book. Just go chill at your local Barnes & Noble and read on through it. Or, your local library might even have a copy for all I know.
