________________________

Kamil was sneaking around. He was hungry and was looking for food. He managed to find the dining room so the kitchen should be close by. Kamil searched and searched, but he really wanted to find food.

After some painful looking around--after all, he was dying because of his hunger--he found the kitchen. The workers were busy making food and Kamil slipped in and tried not to be to notice able. He crouched down behind a table and---

"Whooooa!" s**t. Someone just tripped on him. Kamil dashed out of the kitchen before he was caught and he went to sit behind a corner to mope at his failure to get food. "Awww.... when is it time to eat?" Kamil complained.

"I used to think that everyone had what it took to be a main character."

xxHana was at bliss. All the couples that she saw were making her feel like she was a cloud and was floating by. She wanted to go stalk up on food so she could eat while she stalked, and right now, she was looking for a couple to watch over.

Hana was eating from a bag of chips that she got from a vending machine when she came across a boy sitting on the ground looking all mopey-like. Was it a student? He looked like one. Then it hit Hana like lightning! It was a field trip after all! At a hot springs. it was the perfect time to confess to the girl he likes, but he doesn't have the courage to do it. That must be why he looks so mopey!

Hana went over to him. "Awww! Cheer up! Here, you could have some of my chips if you want!" Hana said as she plopped down beside him and tilted her chips so he could take some from it. Although, Hana was certain that she would be ignored and that he really wanted to be alone. But Hana couldn't leave it at that! It was her duty as the teacher side character to help this student get the courage to confess to the girl he likes!

"It's okay! I'm a teacher, you can trust me. Well, I'm really a student teacher and I'm training to be a teacher, but I'm still an adult all the same. You don't have to worry! You need to tell her how you feel! It's the only way you're going to get a step closer towards your goal!" Hana told him. She was going to cheer him on and get straight to the point. She'll just explain to him that she figured it out when she saw him moping at the hallways.

"But there are just some people like me who are just destined to remain side characters forever."

”All say, ‘How hard it is that we have to die’
- A strange complaint to come

Being a ghost sure did have its perks. Hurray for shortcuts! The best kinds were the ones that involved zipping right through buildings and anything else that got in the way. Then again, what was the point when Kasie had no clue where she was going? She was just flying about in random directions just to make sure that William kept his mind off the fact that she was balding, but it couldn't last forever. He was bound to make fun of her if this kept going on--Was that blue literally and figuratively person who she thought it was!? Oh! And was that the student teacher too? She couldn't believe she almost missed Kamil and Hana, and she made sure to halt in all her flying business.

"Hi, Kamil!, Hi, Hana. It's nice to be seeing you two again, and it's really funny because it was by complete accident too since I wouldn't expect for us to meet us at some dining place since I can't really eat. Not fair right? Definitely!" She was getting off topic here, so she needed to get back on track!

"Anyway, Kamil, is something up? You're kind of not being your usual self. Like, you're not being the hyper person you are? Would this be a bad time to introduce William? Because he's like a new ghost friend I made, and it'd be awesome if you could be friends with him too, but if you're not in the mood, I can understand that." And she still ended up getting off track. Wait, what was she even doing in the first place again?

✴ William ✴

❝There are reasons to live,
there are reasons to die

William looked around in fascination as he was pulled along, amused whenever they passed through a wall. She must have been impatient to get wherever she was taking him if she couldn't even be bothered to go around. After the area started to bore him, he looked at the back of her head, curious if he could see the injury. It was too hard to tell with all that wet hair in the way, so he didn't understand why she was so embarrassed about it.

He frowned when they finally stopped, wondering why she had taken him to a place like this. The dining hall? He wasn't capable of eating, so he didn't think she would be either. He simply shrugged it off when he realized there were two other people there. The more the merrier! But before he could even pester them, Kasie was off rambling like an old person again. He wasn't sure which one was Kamil and which one was Hana, because both were pretty girly sounding names, but he figured he could just avoid saying names.

He looked at the blue haired one with a smile when Kasie referred to him as Kamil, glad that he got the name thing straightened out before he even got the chance to speak. As Kasie was busy talking to Kamil, he floated around him, wondering why he looked upset. He wished he could pull his cheeks up and make him smile, but that was impossible, so he moved onto Hana. He stared at the bag in her hand, curious as to what it was. He glanced back at Kasie when he heard her say his name, figuring that was his cue to say hello. He waved at the two, then knelt down, trying to read the words on the bag.

Kamil was moping and his stomach called for food and craved it when he heard the voice of an angel. He almost drooled as he reached into the bag and ate the chips. He munched on the chips while she ranted about stuff and then Kasie came and ranted about stuff too and there was another person that came and said nothing, but Kamil was eating and he was happy and when he finished the bag and wanted more food, but had energy and wasn't mopey anymore, he was ready to process the words.

And so he kind of caught some words, but not all of them, but he got the gist of what most of them where saying. "Thanks for the chips!" Kamil said to the woman. "You're a lifesaver! I really appreciate it!" he grinned at her with so much happiness. Now he could go find more food.

He glanced at Kasie. 'Hi Kasie! What a coincidence seeing you here! I thought you couldn't eat! Well, I'm glad to see you. I was just a bit hungry. It's okay to hang out! I mean, it's more fun when you're with friends, right?" Kamil laughed. He peered over to the guy that was with her and waved at him since he waved to Kamil. "So who's your friend! I haven't seen him before!" Kamil remarked. Was he just like Kasie? He seemed a little ghostly and there was a glow with him too! "Hi! My name is Kamil!"

"I used to think that everyone had what it took to be a main character."

xxWhoa! Hana really did cheer him up! She really was the most best side character teacher in the world! She was that wise teacher that helped cheer up students! This is why Hana wanted to be a teacher. To see a lot of wonderful romances all the time since high school was the bloom of romantic feelings, excluding Hana's past boyfriends of course. Then a girl came and the boy, who she assumed was Kamil, started talking to her. This girl must be it!

Hana almost gasped. A forbidden love! And there was a boy with her too! Awww! No wonder he was mopey! She already had someone. They were such a cute couple but now Hana had no idea what to do. She wished threeways were possible, but morals says no. Well, screw the rules! Not really. Surely there was someone alive and not dead that could be with him.

Hana snapped back to reality when she heard her name. Oh! It was Kasie from class. "Hello Kasie!" Hana said, trying to sound like a legit teacher. She stood up. "I see you have a friend there. Hello! I'm a student teacher. You can just call me Hana. What are you two up to? Are you hungry? Is that why you're here?" Hana asked, completely oblivious to the fact that it would be silly if ghosts could eat. She turned to Kamil.

"And you're welcome! I'm glad you're feeling better." Hana said to him.

"I can't eat. Well, we both can't. It's really a shame too since we're obviously missing out here. Like, sure, I tend to drool over all the food, but it's not like I can actually dig in. That's one of the perks of living, so enjoy it while it lasts because being dead is a whole lot better if you exclude the being unable to eat part." That's right. Kamil better love those chips! Then again, he always seemed to love food, so... That worked out just fine.

Kasie continued on with her rambling. "Well, we were just in the neighborhood and were wandering around when we saw you two! After all, the more, the merrier right? Company should always be appreciated don't you think?"

"Oh! Before I forget, this is William. He's a new friend that I just made and a friend that you two can make as well, and he's also a ghost just like me! Awesome right? Speaking of which, what are you even trying to do, William?" Kasie asked when she saw that he was just kneeling.

✴ William ✴

❝There are reasons to live,
there are reasons to die

William was amused by how much Kamil cheered up from just a bag of chips. Either he was easy to please, or those chips were godly. He wasn't really sure, because he had no clue what chips were like, but he had a feeling that both were true. He looked at the girl, Hana, who cheered him up the boy when she introduced herself, surprised to hear she was a teacher. Well, student teacher, but she looked just like a student!

He figured it would be polite to introduce himself in return, but as soon as he was about to speak, Kasie started to ramble again. He closed his mouth and listened, feeling a slight bit of frustration, but at the same time, he was relieved. He didn't really have to say anything, yet he still got to learn about these people because of her. Even if he personally wasn't given the chance to talk to them, Kasie was just saving him the effort.

"Well, I've never tried food," He mumbled after she explained that they couldn't eat, wondering why Kasie seemed to like it so much. He thought it was just necessary to live, but if it was just that, then she wouldn't miss it so much, would she?

He nodded as Kasie introduced him and paused when she asked what he was doing, just as confused as she was. He glanced at the other two and realized he was still kneeling from when he was trying to read the bag in Kamil's hand. "Oh, I was just curious what was in the bag," He told her as he got back up to his feet (sort of). It was disappointing that it was only a bag of chips and not of treasure or something, but he figured the chips must have been way better than treasure by how fast it cheered Kamil up.

Well, Hana will forever be in Kamil's memory as an angel. He was ready to go search for more food! He wanted to show her that he was grateful somehow, but he had no idea how to do it on land. In the sea, they often would give the other person a scale to show gratitude. Well, maybe later he can present her a scale. She probably won't know what it means, but Kamil had to do it. "And I appreciate the chips! I hope you don't mind that I ate all of them!"

He turned to Kasie. "Oh yeah! I remember you telling me about that! Well, at least you don't feel hunger? Or do you? Because I would die all over again if I could feel hunger if I turned into a ghost. But... I don't even think merpeople can turn into ghosts? When we die, we just turn into foam." Kamil remarked.

He glanced at William who had been examining the bag of chips. He seemed like a really quiet person! Almost like Veith. Except he didn't have a forever frown on his face. "Oh! Hi William! Nice to meet you! It's a good thing that there's another ghost wandering around. It's always nice to meet other people like you." Now Kamil had to find a merperson. It was always hard to tell if there was another merperson around unless he was in water.

"Oh? And it's just regular chips in the bag. But I have enough strength to go looking for more food now that I've eaten some! Why don't we find more food before I start starving again. I'm never sure where the food is around here and I don't know if I could just waltz into the kitchen and just ask for some food." Kamil said. He would suggest going to find a vending machine and buying everything inside, but Kamil left his money back in his room and he was already here in the eating place and he did not want to go back. So there had to be a place where they could get free food? "But I'm kind of broke at the moment so I can't get stuff from the vending machine."

"I used to think that everyone had what it took to be a main character."

xxThese kids were so adorable! Hana would hug them all if she could but she really couldn't because her arms weren't long enough. If Hana could have the any power in the world, it would be stretchy arms so she could hug and smother all adorableness before her! Well, that power was second to x-ray vision. No! She did not intend to use it for perverted means. She just wanted to stalk couples even when they thought they were alone... and she did not mean the hot steamy bed moments too because Hana still respected privacy and stuffs! What was she doing arguing with herself?

Still, these children were cute and Hana wanted to giggle at the sight of them because this just called for some adorable romancing. Although she was certain that the ghosts were together and Kamil had to hide his unconditional love for Kasie by grinning and hiding the pain. He was really good at it too since he seemed super happy. He must really be hurting inside. Hana wanted to go introduce him to someone right away! She would be on the lookout for female people who seem to be like Kasie or maybe a little different because girls that reminded him of Kasie would still hurt him right?

"Hello, William! Or would you prefer Will? I mean, I know a ton of Williams that just prefer to respond to Will and I might accidentally slip and call you that too, but maybe you're the type that also doesn't like it?" Hana would totally fret about this. After all, she's going to be a teacher and nicknames were important to high schoolers because nicknames are like their established identities and she wanted to know these little quirks about them.

"Oh! Sorry! I didn't know that you guys couldn't eat! I mean... gosh, I sure wasn't thinking. Well, hopefully you don't mind if we do eat for a little bit? I think some lunch ought to do us some good." Hana said to them. Not to mention Kamil was mentioning hunger but Hana was certain that it was him trying to cover up his mopiness.

"What about your meal card? Shouldn't you have something like that? After all, students aren't required to eat lunch all at the same time and can just whip out their meal card. That way lunch is free!" Hana said to Kamil. "But if you don't have it, I don't mind paying for your food." She just hoped he didn't eat a buffet or something.
