After speaking with Shyamaath, Rio had decided that yes, he was going to go through with his latest plot to bring two unsuspecting people together. To that end, he'd spent the last hour sitting silently in his room, focusing his power and carving the required names into the shaft of one of his arrows. When he'd finally finished, he lifted and examined it carefully, making sure that it was perfect and correct.
His tongue still poked out of the corner of his mouth, something he tended to do while concentrating very hard.

Leo had been laying across Rio's bed, watching him this whole time wondering just what he was up to. It was clear enough that it was delicate work so he stayed quiet and watched, keeping the questions forming in his mind to himself for the moment.

He'd been distantly aware, most of the time, that Leo was watching him, but hadn't been bothered. If he'd been worried about total privacy, he'd've shut himself away, but everyone who lived with him knew what he could do - well, except for their latest addition - and there was no reason to hide from them. Or from Leo, whom he trusted implicitly.
Finally able to pay attention to things other than his work, he stretched and yawned. There. Would you like to see?
Rio held the arrow out for the D'Angeline, since he was clearly curious.

Of course! It was a silly question, really. Leo was curious about most anything, but perhaps Rio simply hadn't been around him long enough to realize it. He leaned over the edge of the bed to see what Rio had been working on. It was an arrow, that much was clear enough...but it was written on?
"Can I ask what its for?"

Love extended his hand further, a wordless indication that Leo could take the arrow, if he liked. It wouldn't hurt anything for him to do so. Promise not to tell anyone? he asked, lightly playful. If he hadn't trusted Leo in the first place, he wouldn't have let him watch. It's not something I tell many people.
There were only a handful who knew, and it was better to keep it that way. If everyone knew what he could do, they'd be suspicious!

Of course, I promise. Leo picked up the arrow from Rio's hand, holding it delicately, turning it this way and that to get a better look at it.

With arrows like that one, I can make people fall in love, he answered at last. What would Leo think of that? He watched his expression, curious. It's something that's survived in some legends, but I prefer not to confirm them, when I can help it. That way, no one has a reason to be suspicious of me when...things happen.

Leo looked up from the arrow and back at Love. D'Angeline's didn't really have proper legends about such things, still it certainly was interesting! "So this is how Naamah ties two people's hearts together?" He smiled, nodding. "Certainly makes sense, could ruin what your trying to do." That still didn't really answer his most important question: how exactly did it work?

Yes, you could put it that way. Rio rather liked the sound of that, actually! He summoned his intricate bow to hand, so that Leo could see it as well. There are two names on each arrow, he continued to explain, The one to be affected, and the one they will love.
Mischief glinted in his eyes. That one is for Laurence.

Leo blinked, clearly a bit surprised to see the bow appear seemingly from nowhere. The idea seemed simple enough, that no doubt took some sort of magic to make it work.
"The priest, really?" He chuckled. "He could certainly use something in the way of companionship...might improve his mood."

That's what I thought. Rio grinned, letting the bow disappear again. I'll have to sneak up on him, but...hopefully it won't be too hard. Better than Glyph and Xun, certainly, who as gods could see the arrows.

Hmm...it never hurts to have a distraction. No one had caught him yet - except for Lisana, who'd helped him, so that didn't quite count - and he didn't want that to change! And this wasn't some random mortal, it was Laurence, who would probably not be pleased if he realized Love's intentions. Shuo he wasn't sure about, but regardless, it paid to be careful when dealing with dragons. The main thing is that it can be a bit dangerous to do it here.
Most people can't see the arrows once they've been fired, but gods can, and they can pull them out before they dissolve. And then figure out pretty quickly who's responsible, I don't doubt.

And you getting into trouble certainly wouldn't be good. Leo rolled over onto his back and pondered what he might do to help. Not sure what use I could be as far as distracting Laurence. I'm not sure he'd talk to me after last time.

Especially not when there are dragons involved. Laurence's seemed to be quite an agreeable sort, but you never knew, and where there was one dragon, there were several more. Oh, he probably would. He may be uptight, but he's also very polite. He endured Shy and Ishkha remarkably well.
