☪ Things to Know About Talon
xxxxxxx♚ A Busy Little Bee⇢ Not only do I go to school (usually full time, but part time for this semester), I also work part time at a law firm, and I take flying lessons. School is demanding, and sometimes I just won't have the energy or brain functionality to get to you or my role plays. However, I do manage to get on Gaia at least once a day, so know that I have seen what needs to be done and I will get to it when I can.
xxxxxxx♚ Hobbies⇢ There are many things I enjoy doing, but foremost among my favorite activities are role playing, reading, playing video games, and flying. Role plays are pretty much a part of my diet, and if I go too long without role playing, I start to die. >.> Okay so maybe not, but it is a big part of my life and is usually one of the highlights of my day. Reading is also another must for me. Books are my inanimate best friends, and I have a lot of them. Usually I stick to fiction and fantasy (very little sci-fi), because non-fiction books are tiresome. If you ever need book recommendations, feel free to ask me. And I don't just like reading novels; I love manga as well (Fruits Basket, Shaman King, YuYu Hakusho, Bleach, Naruto [though the last two are getting a little too long-winded for me], Mars, Hunter x Hunter, Ranma 1/2... the list goes on). As for video games... Well, I'm a bit of a picky player. I don't do first-person shooters because I get too anxious (Halo is a nightmare for me - though I won't deny its awesomeness); I don't do racing games because they're usually boring and frustrating as hell; I don't do sports games because no. Mostly I'm a RPG kinda Talon, my favorites being Final Fantasy. My favorite Final Fantasy? Final Fantasy VII. Yeah, I'm one of those people, but hey, it's an awesome game and I still play it. Next is VIII. Definitely the second best in the series (in my opinion), barely losing to VII. I liked IX and X to some degree but VII and VIII do more for me, I must say. Anyways, I'm getting carried away. Flying is another hobby of mine, though it's more a career path than a hobby. I would absolutely love to fly professionally, though not for an airline. Too much drama. I'd much prefer a job in a smaller airplane, and as there are a ton of those, I think I have some good options ahead of me.
xxxxxxx♚ Oprah's Talon's Favorite Things⇢ There's a lot of stuff I adore without them being hobbies. For one, I'm a brony. If you are too, awesome. If you're not and you hate me for being a brony, please get over it. I understand a general dislike for bronies in general, but please don't lump me in with thousands of people I've never even met. Anyway, I'm also a fan of Psych, one of the best comedies/detective shows ever. James Roday is... well, words can't really describe how phenomenal he is. <3 Anyway, I also enjoy watching Avatar: The Last Airbender because it's a kickass show with kickass characters. Problem? Take it up with Toph. I'm also a huge fan of Pretty Little Liars and Jersey Shore. Don't like? That's okay, I do, and that's what's important. I also like a few anime, like Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater, Wolf's Rain, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, and a few others I've begun to watch. Anyway, my favorite color is green, I love the number nine, and if you're on my friends list, chances are you're one of my favorite Gaia buddies. Wanna know something about Talon? Just ask!

xxxxxxx♚ Vice Captain⇢ As Vice Captain, I not only fulfill my duties as a moderator, but take on other responsibilities like helping with the Newsletter, sending guild announcements, inviting and accepting new members, maintaining guild threads and keeping them up-to-date, ensuring all guild members abide by guild rules and Gaia's ToS, and making sure everyone has an enjoyable experience in the guild.
xxxxxxx♚ Head Moderator⇢ As the Head Mod, I make the call on whether or not role plays should be moved. I can assign/reassign moderators to forums and moderate over all other sub forums (that are NOT a role playing genre forum- Noodle Shop, Main Forum, Holiday Inn, etc.). I also make the final decision on role plays that are dying/inactive.
⇢ I oversee the work of the other Moderators and make sure they're doing their jobs, as in moderating their assigned sub forums, contacting owners of inactive role plays, etc. Other sub forum moderators are TheAnneh* (Crew, Moderator: Science Fiction, One on One, Institution) and x-Grey-Rain-x (Crew, Moderator: Fantasy, Horror/Mystery, Romance, Series). These sub forum moderators should oversee the main role playing sub forums and message members if their role plays are inactive.
⇢ Otherwise, I make sure the role plays are moving along, the role players are abiding by all rules set in place by Spaniard, and the role play owners get an necessary or desired help in setting up/moderating/maintaining their role plays.

I know we all love and miss her, and I will graciously welcome her back with open arms if she so chooses to return to Gaia. She has been one two of my most loyal members of this guild. Her name will remain on the Crew list, but we are to no longer make references to her as a moderator.
Okay, so once everyone is all settled into their new places, we should all be aware of a few dates. Just like HR has deadlines, Moderators shall have deadlines as well. On the 20th of each month, each of the two Moderators will report to the head of Moderators a list of role plays that have been inactive since the beginning of the month. Along with this list, each Moderator will also accompany a note dictating that they have private messaged the owners of said role plays about the inactivity of their threads.
After this, one of two things will happen:
-If the member replies to the PM, then the Head of Moderators will then determine what should be done with the role play.
-If the member does not reply to the private message by the last day of the month, the Moderators will report back to the Head of Moderators, noting that the member has not responded yet.
From there, the Head of Moderators and Human Resources will speak with me, in which case we will decide what will happen.
Shifting gears a little, when there are role plays inside the sub forums that have two threads (i.e. one thread for the role play, a separate thread for profiles/OOC) then the Moderator of said sub forum will STICKY the thread pertaining to profiles or OOC. The actual role play shall remain a normal thread.
Any disruptive/immature/or foul behavior being displayed by a member should be dealt with immediately. Though I have not had to encounter this in the guild before, its always nice to be prepared. In the case of an unruly member, the Moderator of the sub forum (or any forum, for that matter) will LOCK the thread in which the activity is occurring. From there, they will PM the member (with yet another generic post I'll make up soon) and alert the Head of Moderators of the situation. If a compromise is reached at the Member-Moderator level, then the thread can then be unlocked and peace restored.
If the member wishes to continue their behavior, or an agreement is not reached on the Member-Moderator level, the Moderator will PM the Head of Moderators immediately. From there, the Moderator will inform the Member that they are being passed on to a higher ranking crew member and the Moderator is to cease communication with the Member.
Once the Member-HM (Head Moderator) level is reached, the HM will confront the Member in a non aggressive manner and try to solve to situation to the best of their abilities. They will also notify HR of the situation. If the situation needs to reach another level, the HM may at that time pass the Member on to HR or the Captain.
