Genesis was curled up against a window in her home staring out the window between pages of an old history book. She flipped a crisp and brown page before shutting to book completely. Genesis couldn't focus on reading at all right now. She stood up from her seat and began to pace back and forth across the room at a quick pace and large strides.
"How am I supposed to protect the Guardians and go to war for them, if I cannot even come out victorious in an engagement against an exasperated squire? Surely I will face more formidable opponents then that."
Genesis made one more pace to the other side of the room where her sword hung mounted on a wall. She twirled the hilt in her hand, watching the light shimmer and reflect off the blade. Then turned around and exited the room.

Genesis had walked to her favorite garden in the city and had now stopped in the middle, standing completely still. She closed her eyes, trying to let go of the frustrations she felt following her defeat, trying to clear her mind. She focused on her breathing, deep breaths, in...out.
Her mind tried to travel back to her past lessons and what she had learned, trying to figure out where she needed to start in order to improve upon herself. Genesis decided to start with magic, perhaps if she defended herself better she would perform better in battle. Genesis turned to face the doorway of the garden, she lifted her hand, focused her mind and waved her hand across the entry way. Her light wall came up. She had used it once in battle before, but she didn't have the stamina to keep it up after she was attacked even once.
Genesis walked over to her light wall, shimmering beautifully in the doorway. She knocked on the wall, strong and sturdy, but even knocking on the door felt like a tickle. Genesis drew her sword once again and took an aggressive stance against her own door. Yes, she was going to beat on her own light wall, and she was going to take it.

Genesis was about to swing her sword against the wall when she had an idea. Her mind was thinking back to the magic she had learned, much of it which she had failed to practice due to the lack of a proper situation. It seemed like a horrible idea to wait until the right time though and then have the skill fail because of it being her first time.
Genesis lifted her sword, grasped in both hands directly in front of her and aimed straight on at her light wall. She closed her eyes, which probably wasn't a good thing because she now didn't know where her sword was pointed, but she was trying to focus and meditate. Light welled up in Genesis' hands and began to move from her hands to the hilt of her sword, and then travel up the blade. The light finally welled up at the tip of the blade and then it burst. A stream of light sped from the tip of her sword, Genesis opened her eyes just in time to see the light pass through her wall as if it wasn't even there. The light lance pierced a vase outside of the garden and the vase shattered.
Genesis lowered her sword so that the tip of the blade was resting on the ground and blinked at the vase. Wow, imagine if she combined that skill with her fellow squires.
