Roll a six: Electric Field: The field is completely flat. Standing at the four corners and at the exact center of the field are five electrical towers that stand at six feet in height. These release static discharge across the field at random; electric attacks may be able to amplify themselves by using these stray charges to their advantage. The discharges also programmed to encourage pokemon to avoid standing in one location for too long This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ELECTRIC type attacks.

This was the first battle that Lizzie had in this stadium for a while, and it's already not in her favor. The electric field was randomized, which put Kestrel at a definite disadvantage, but she wasn't going to give up before the battle even started.
"Let's go Kestrel!" She sent out the bird Pokemon. The Pidgeot eyed the field warily, making sure not to fly to close to the pillars of electricity. Admittedly, he was panicking a bit, but if his trainer had confidence then so shall he.

Genesis entered the stadium as pillars rose from the field, sparks of electricity flying past. It thrummed against the air and her skin tingled as she waved towards her opponent-to-be, putting on a cheerful face to match her disguise.
From what she could see, the field played to her opponent's disadvantage, but she was experienced enough to know that that alone wouldn't be enough to determine the battle's outcome.
"Go."
Erebos, having stood beside his trainer up until that moment, leapt down onto the field. He stayed a safe distance away from the pillars but attempted to shorten the space between him and the Pidgeot, knowing the latter's wings would make aiming difficult in the battle to come.

At least Kestrel wasn't facing an electric Pokemon however. Lizzie took note of the opponent, a Lucario, and wasted no time in attacking.
"Use Heat Wave!" She commanded her Pidgeot. In a disadvantageous situation like this, she was going to take all the opportunities to inflict as much damage as possible.
Kestrel started flapping his wings furiously, generating enough heat to warm the winds he was building. He swooped down at Erebos, not close enough for him to land an attack but close enough so that his opponent would feel the fiery gust.

It was just the beginning but they were already off to a bad start. Genesis was well aware of her Lucario's annoyance with any flame-type move (even more so when it struck) and, hoping to sooth him, at least somewhat, she called, "Calm Mind!"
Erebos side-stepped, hoping to dodge and retaliate while the Pidgeot was within proximity. He was a tad successful, if the fact that he had gotten his paws off the ground in a leap could count as such, but the blast of heat had knocked him back before he could strike, and he was farther from the Pidgeot than he had been before.
Shaking the heat off his fur, he eyed the Pidgeot warily before lowering his lids to use Calm Mind.

To Lizzie's surprise the other trainer opted for a set up instead of an immediate attack. It didn't make it any less threatening though. Once the opponent decides to attack it'll be even more damaging unless she did something about it.
"Copy that with Mirror Move!" She said to Kestrel. The Pidgeot swooped closer to the Lucario, but instead of attacking focused his sharp eyes on his movements. Or lack of, in this case. He copied the same meditative stance, which was hard for him to do with wings instead of arms but he managed to do so.

"Counter it with Crunch!" Genesis called, eager to maintain the upper hand Calm Mind had initially given her.
Erebos snapped his eyes open when he heard the Pidgeot come close, and immediately crouched, bunching his legs underneath to suddenly spring at the bird Pokémon with a ready bite.

Lizzie was getting a little frustrated at how this battle was turning out. She knew the importance of keeping your stats up but she also knew at this rate it would drag on forever. Unless she decided to do something else of course.
"Kestrel! Hit him with Swagger!"
The Pidgeot, still recovering from the vicious bite, gave Lizzie a puzzled look but shrugged off his confusion. He flew down at Erebos and strutted his stuff mid-air, hopefully to cloud his mind in anger.

The swagger had its intended effect. The Pidgeot's gait was not unlike that of a particular Rattata Erebos knew (who was stuck with him, sad to say, seeing as they shared the same trainer) and, without consciously realizing it, Erebos' anger grew.
Genesis, noticing the signs, hoped a direct command would at least get him to focus.

Unfortunately the confusion did not prevent the Lucario from landing a blow on Kestrel. He squawked as the electrified punch hit him, dealing even more damage because of the added static from the field. The bird Pokemon struggled to stay aloft from the attack and furiously flapped his way towards the ceiling, singed feathers falling with every wing beat.
Lizzie clenched her teeth at the sight. She was hoping to delay as much damage as possible with his Swagger, but luck wasn't on her side at that moment. But all she needed to do was improve the odds a bit, and the Lucario had given her the key to doing that.
"Mirror move that Thunderpunch!" She cried out.
Kestrel gave another confused glance towards Lizzie, but saw by the look in her eyes what she wanted him to do. His own wings cackled with electricity as he dived towards the Lucario, aiming to give him a nasty, paralyzing shock.

Erebos fell back when he was struck, sparks of lightning flashing against his fur. They lingered there, those electric flickers, but they did not hurt him. Still, he was not unaware of their hindering capabilities, and he readied another Thunderpunch to try and direct the electricity elsewhere.

They were lucky that they had the Lucario paralyzed for one turn, but it was going to wear off right afterwards. Lizzie needed to keep the opponent from attacking for as long as possible, to make up for the damage disadvantage they were at so far. "Mirror Move it again!" She commanded Kestrel.
