Hi, Fai here, and I'm planning and in the process of making a newbie school~
A place to teach newbies willing to learn about inflation, investment, price guides, the exchange, and L.A.I.D.
Newbies will go under training so to speak, and the thread will be somewhat of a charity but in the hopes of bringing forth fruitful newcomers who will carry on our ideas into the future!~ xd Sounds rather neat, eh?
Well I'm going to need help and cooperation~
I'll probably give a link to the Lucky Devil Price guide, and host some articles there simplified somewhat for new comers.
(Information, if taken from anywhere, will be given FULL and COMPLETE referance to the creator)
I myself have taken a few newbs under my wing, giving them starting items like a fox set, lunar cloak, etc. and teaching them about the importance of literacy and investments in gaia, as well as the overall theme to have fun!

As well as the thread, I would like a place to give helpful literate newbies a guardian- that's where you come in!
If you would care to be a guardian of a carefully chosen newbie, please post so here.
If you'd like some more information, please tell me!
I'll be choosing some 1st degree helpers, so if you're interested in that as well, post here.

I want to give newbs a fresh start, and a good chance at having a good time on gaia amidst the inflation. We may have another generation of anti-inflation.
I mean think about it- when these inflationists have moved on from petty things like gaia to the stock market ( xd ) we can have an already trained knowledgable group of gaians fighting to keep our ideas strong.
I won't be able to do this alone, threads take alot of work, and newbies aren't nessecarily interested in inflation when they first arrive, if aware of it at all.
So let's educate the masses!

I'd say the best place for it would be the welcom to gaia forum.
If it were chatterboxed it would be destroyed in an hour or two.

If it's just a tutorial/ Q&A type deal then no, if it's a big charity organization, then perhaps the best place for it would be in the charity subforum. The amount of newbies in there is staggering any way.

Well I explained in the first post what it is, we're instructing new members of gaia, and giving them items to help them invest, etc. whee 3nodding heart
I can decide where to put it later, but I really need helpers and people to sign up, opting to "take care of" a newbie.
This would involve them being able to pm you asking you questions, and you'd be nice to them, maybe give them small amounts of gold from time to time, and teaching them about L.A.I.D., etc.
And oh, I'd better add this. You cannot simply sign up, I have to check you out first (If I don't know you personally, or you don't post often in the guild).

Now that I look at it more closely, this looks a lot like the old 'adopt a gaian' organization. I don't know if they're still operational, but you may want to look into them.

Seems to me that this is somewhat going along the same lines as G-Angels and such threads.
I don't know if you guys know teekz, but he had an awesome newbie guide a while back.
It even got stickied in WtG, and this idea you have is somewhat related right?
I think if it gets a good crew and a fresh start, it'll do great. And I would definetly put it in WtG, but you might want to PM one of the mods to discuss it further.

Thanks Icarus, and nope, I never heard of those guides. I guess I kind of skipped the whole Welcome to Gaia and newbie with no clothes scene, since my older sister helped me get started. And thanks for the encouragement. heart
@ Franklin- It is kind of like that. I've never heard of them either though. gonk

@ Franklin- It is kind of like that. I've never heard of them either though. gonk Adopt a gaian was very big in 04 when I was first starting out, but I never actualy dealt with them because I went directly to ED when I first joined.
