Dorian's Secret Island is a small lush island about a two hour boat ride from Gotham City Docks. This is the home of Dr. Emile Dorian, his henchman Garth and his pet/son Tygrus.
Tygrus, a half man - half panther, has near unlimited access to most of the island at most times. He is very strong and can be very protective of his "father".
Garth, a gorilla man, keeps care of Tygrus and does other bidding of Dorian's. He's the main security of the island and is usually found with a small dart gun filled with knock out serum.
((How no one knew of the existence of Dorian's island still baffles me))

The air smelled of salt. The sound of waves striking the shore. Sounds of exotic birds and other beach faring creatures. These were the first things Crystal noticed as she started to come to.
Her eyes slowly drifted open. As she stared at the ground the was moving past her she realized that she was being carried.
She played possum, hoping the person had not noticed that she was awake. The events prior came back to her as she watched the soft sand turn to grass on a small foot worn path heading into a forested area.
She looked back to her kidnapper. It was the apeman that had attacked her earlier.
Crystal then looked around at her surrounding ever so gently, as to not alert her captor.
Before Garth (the apeman) knew what was going on. Crystal had grabbed a nearby tree and pulled herself from his grasp. As soon as she had slipped his grip she was quickly pulling herself up the tree.
Garth, being an ape, was hot on her tail. Literally. Crystal grabbed a loose branch and pulled it off. She swung back and hit her pursuer in the face with it, knocking Garth right out of the tree.

By the time the apeman was able to get back to his feet Crystal had vanished. Garth cusses to himself and starts trying to track her.
Crystal quickly made it to a high cliff. As she started climbing she realized how exhausted she was becoming so quickly. As she continued her ascent She pulled a vial out of a pocket and drank it.
Garth got to the cliff just as Crystal reached the top.

Crystal ran across the flat straight away, now with renewed energy.
Before Garth could make it to the top himself she had ducked around a corner and into a cave in the side of the higher cliff facing.
She walked a small ways before the light from outside was barely any help to her any more. From there she had to rely on her smell and hearing to get her through.
She walked and walked, looking for the end that seemed to never come. At one point she decided to sit and take a break.
Meanwhile up at the abode of one Dr. Emile Dorian, Garth was explaining how he had lost track of the girl.
"WHAT?!" Dorian threw a wound newspaper at him, which exploded apart upon impacting the now cringing beast.
"I gave you that specialized tranquilizer for you to use. What happened to that?" Dorian was pissed, and with good reason... Or at least good reason for him.
Garth simply shrugged. "I don't know. I used it and she still woke up shortly after arriving on the island."
Dorian had now moved to leaning down on his work table, his hair fallen down and shrouding his face. "At least she's on the island. She won't be going anywhere without help." He stood up and walked to the door of Tygrus's cage.
"My dear Tygrus. Father has a request of you." Dorian smiled.
The large panther male slowly climbed down from the tree that he was napping in and walked over to Dorian. "Yes father?"
Dorian walked his 'son' outside the facility. "I need you to hunt down our guest. She escaped from Garth at the shore. Do you think you could bring her back unharmed?"
"Yes father. Any thing you ask." Tygrus ran off into the wilderness.

It didn't take Tygrus long to find Crystal's trail and track her down.
By the time Tygrus managed to get to the spot she had sat down in she was gone, further into the cave.
Crystal found an exit on the other side of the mountain and decided to climb back down. She hopped from tree to tree, keeping her trail down to a minimum chance of finding or even tracking.
She found a vary tall tree and climbed as high as she could, resting on the highest sturdy branch she could find.
Tygrus was having some difficulty once he reached the forest again but was able to keep on her trail. Coming to the tall tree he looked up, spotting her tail, swinging back and forth.
This intrigued him, for he was not told their guest was another augment. He climbed up and watched the sleeping cat girl.

Carefully Tygrus picked Crystal up and placed her over his shoulder. He jumped down out of the tree, heading back to the lab.
-----
Getting back to their father Tygrus placed her on a table. Dorian walked into the room and looked over. He smiled at Tygrus. "Good job. Why don't you go back into your room while I handle things in here."
Tygrus looked at Dorian. "Father. Why does she have ears and a tail like mine?"
"Because. She was my first experiment. She is my daughter and I have been working very hard to find here. By a stroke of luck she found her own way to Gotham city." He started checking Crystal's extra parts.
Tygrus was to his door by the time Dorian finished talking. "So I have a sister?"
Dorian nodded. "It will be your job to protect her. I have Garth out on the beach watching for intruders, like Batman. From what I know of him, he'll risk everything to save other heroes from his city."
Tygrus walked into his room, full of thought.
Dorian cuffed Crystal's hands before she woke up. "What the?!" She looked around and then went half eyed. "Curse my heavy sleeping." She looked right at Dorian and her eyes went wide.
"What are you doing here? I thought you died." Her fur stood up on end.
Dorian cuffed her feet before she could realize what he was doing and looked to here. "I could say the same for you. It was pretty shocking to hear from an old colleague of mine that he had seen you a few years ago."
He walked to a table and picked up a syringe. He walked back over to Crystal. "Don't fret. I'm only taking a blood sample to see what your DNA looks like sense you ran off."
Crystal's eyes went wide and she wiggled, thrashing her tail around. She did /not/ like needles.

Dorian quickly took the blood he needed and walked out of the room.
Crystal sat there and grumbled about her predicament. As she sat there on the table, alone, she was hatching a plan to escape.
Before long Dorian walked back in the room and looked at Crystal. "Your genetics are still deteriorating, it's just not as fast as your mother." He reached over and undid her restraints.
"I don't know why you make it so difficult on me to help you."
"Help me?!" Crystal stared at him in dismay. "You call this helping me?" She grabbed her tail and waved it at her father.
Dorian sighed. "I had no idea that the alterations would cause that. You have to believe me, I've always had your best interests in mind."
He walked to the desk, leaning on it again. "You're my daughter. I already lost your mother and I didn't want to loose you too... But I did." His voice trembled on that last part as a tear fell to the desk.
Crystal's disbelief slowly faded as she watch one tear fall after another from her father's face. She looked down and rubbed her arm. She didn't know what to do or say.
She hated her father this entire time, and now that she had the chance to tell him off, let him know how she felt about him, she couldn't. 'Stupid conscious.' She thought to herself as she walked up to the man she loathed so much.
"Please... Don't cry..." She placed a hand on his shoulder.
Dorian looked back to her. "I don't blame you for your hostilities. I also won't blame you if you want to leave, but I need you to stay here." He placed his hands on each of her shoulders. "I need to finish some minor alterations to stop the virus from doing any more damage."
He looked her in the eyes. "I think I might also have a way to reverse the deterioration."

((Enter Arell))
Oddly enough the cool water kept him calm enough for the alligator man to turn human by the time he hit dry land. Stopping for a bit, he sat on a rock and emptied the waterproof satchel, revealing the guns and ammo. Placing the guns back in his place he looked out to where the boat was coming. Gotham PD ain't gonna do jack s**t. I'm taking the law in MY hands now! he thought and walked off the beach, shotgun resting on his shoulder like he was going hunting. This wasn't Gotham anymore . . . this was closer to HIS territory now!

(ENTER Tim Drake from Batcave)
Tim (unaware of the cajun's "change in plan") followed Arell up on land, looking around for signs of movement, security cameras, or anything else to be concerned about... The group was able to motor up to the island with no confrontation, and Robin was curious as to how easy they could waltz right into the place.

Arell eased around. It was a little quiet . . . TOO quiet. The big Cajun kept his guard up. Now moving the shotgun from his shoulder to a position better used to fire at an easier manner. He was now maneuvering in the Jungle. The jungle providing him cover as he eased through. Hoping he could find that blasted laboratory to begin with.

The computer on the table flashed and Dorian clicked an icon. A video feed started. Robin, Abby and Artemis were on the screen.
"I knew the bat would show up... He's later than I'd thought he'd be though." He turned and looked at Crystal.
"Come with me. I still have work to do before you're better." He walked to a door and opened it. "Tygrus. Keep the intruders at bay until I can finish what I have to do."
Crystal sighed and complied, following Dorian as Tygrus ran out the building. While what he had already done to her was rough on her mind, she realized now that it was all out of concern, and maybe even love. She also realized that if he didn't finish tampering with her genetics that she wouldn't have much longer to live.
Dorian walked to another room and pointed to a chair with restraints. "Sit there. The new serum is a quick acting one. You will need to be held down."
Crystal sat, not taking her eyes off him as he clamped the restraints on her wrists and ankles and around her chest.
As he worked Tygrus was quickly making his way down the side of the cliff to the forest.

What Dorian DIDN'T know, however, was the biggest threat to his life was a very big, angry, shotgun-wielding Cajun bounty hunter with blood-lust and hellbent on saving Crystal and giving the "good doctor" a lesson he wouldn't DARE forget in this lifetime!
He came across footprints whilst in the jungle. Some looked like hers, some looked like a big ape-man's. "Hmm . . . trail's cold. Had to be from 'bout a day ago." he growled. Of course, THAT information wasn't necessary. He knew ANYTHING could happen within 24 hours. Growling low, he reluctantly followed the trail. It wasn't fresh, but it was all he had at this point.

[Enter Abby from the Batcave]
Abby stepped out of the boat and quickly joined the others, marveling at the sights around her; she had never been on any island apart from her beloved Ireland, so this was new to her. Of course, though she wasn't aware of it, her "good luck field" was working for the group as they were all inside it. Tygrus' approached would either take a sudden detour, or would stop altogether as he went back to where he was coming from.

Tim had detached his communicator from the boat before they headed onto land, and as Artemis spoke the bird had been looking down at the device. He tapped at the screen a bit before he looked up towards a seemingly random direction into the forest.
"There's a structure.... over there....-"
Tim pointed the way he was facing before he turned back towards the two. For the moment he was contemplating on whether he should tell Abby and Artemis to stay put, but was it really 'safer' at the boat?
"....this way."
He lead the group of three. Soon enough they were walking up an incline, heading deeper into the forest.
