Standing still for a moment, Nishant's gaze was steady as he stared up into the darkening sky. Remnants of the sun's light flickered in the pink hues of his eyes, and he almost felt a bit sad watching it go. He had never been much of a daytime creature; most of his time was spent lazing around in the shadows, or perched up high in the branches of some tree. But there was still something so nice about the sun, though this sunset was definitely his favorite part of the day. It was the loveliest thing that he had ever seen - even his beloved night sky paled in comparison.
Taking a step forward, he took in a deep breath, preparing himself for movement once the sun was completely hidden behind the horizon. He found that it was easier for him to do things at night, like hunt, largely because of his almost all-black coat. He loved his coat dearly, and adored the simple elegance of any other creature that had a black coat as well, but it could be quite unbearable to try and hunt in the heat of the day. Not to mention that he stuck out like a sore thumb, rarely giving him a good enough position to actually catch anything.
Lowering his head to the ground, he smelled it lightly, taking in all of the scents that were wrapped up in the dirt. Different hairs of different things that had passed through - nothing all that noteworthy. Though maybe...there was something there that had been dropped recently.
