It was difficult to find a suitable message. There were many different ways to tell a trainee to come to a certain place at a certain time. But those were under orders. How were you supposed to get them to come of their own free will? Aria stared at her phone, chin in her hand as she thought. She couldn't be too harsh, but if she wasn't then she wasn't acting like a division leader. Finally she settled on being very blunt about the entire thing and sent the message off.

Text from Aria - 4:07 PM Feb 15, 2012

Hey. You. Come to meeting room 243 if you want an opportunity to lead. Be there by 8pm sharp. Text me back stating whether or not you'll come.

By 7:48pm, Aria was already seated at the head of the table. She glanced up when the first of the summoned walked in, waving them to a seat before returning to her notes. She glanced up again, remembering. "Please try to sit near your fellow division members," she began. "We'll begin at 8pm regardless of who's here and who isn't."

Gale's text back was instantaneous:

Text to Aria
I'm in.
- G

At 7:45pm that evening he left his room, slinging his coat on over his shoulders and throwing the scarf around his neck. His gloves were slipped on, the silver banded, rune encrusted ring on his left index finger, where it always was, and Gale was already on his way down the hall, out the door, and towards Room 243.

He found it - and Aria - rather easily. The head of the Mist Division of the hunters was sitting at the head of the table, several sheets of paper in front of her, and Gale gave her a nod as he took a seat. Since he was the first in the room, there were no other members of his division to find, so he picked a seat at random halfway down the table.

An opportunity to lead. It was a rather daunting thought, but one that made Gale excited nonetheless. Maybe this time he would finally be able to prove himself worthy.

She'd not been the most..alert...of individuals at the time, but she knew it would be wise to just say 'I'm in' and then sleep for another two hours. Then lay in bed for another one...then eventually peel herself out of bed, stretching tiredly before she fumbled out of the covers and got dressed, giving herself a once over for 'professional'ism. Did she look good?

She hoped so.

Nicodemus seemed to chime some agreement with her for her mental thought on the whole thing, before she'd headed out the door and off to find the room that Aria had requested they meed in, yawning a bit as she stepped in and offering the Mist Division lead a small handwave.

"Mornin' Aria." she greeted, picking a seat relatively close to the front of the group, making sure she had two more seats set aside so that Candace and Before could join her - she assumed they'd be joining her, anyways. Then she settled on one of her arms, staring at the wall off behind Aria's head.

Madison had replied to the text with a bit of trepidation and no small amount of awful text-speak. The trainee had returned from an extended observation only the night before, and... well, after everything that had happened, she still wasn't sure about leading. Oh, leading a conversation or a social group, sure! But leading a group of Hunters? Not so much...

She still felt a bit uncomfortable in her coat, too, seeing the crossed scythes rather than the more familiar branches of Life. Still, the choice had been made for her, and here she was... she couldn't hide in observation blinds forever. Nor did she want to, really.

Time to man up. She shuffled in and sat next to Gale, on the basis of him being Death, and... yeah. "Hey," she said, a little awkwardly. The last time she'd seen him she'd been six. Kind of.

Jerry was early. He had no where else to be. There was no bright greeting for Aria, no babbling to anyone else who arrived around the same time. Just a somber expression as he politely saluted the Mist leader and shifted to a seat.

He was relieved to get the text. He needed more distractions. He needed to get out, get his mind on something important. Something else. Something he could concentrate on.

And maybe find a house to raid for more to drink.

"Morning?" Aria looked at Cassandra quizzically. "It's almost eight o'clock in the evening, Cass. Don't tell me you're following Lance's example," she chided with a laugh, shaking her head.

As the hunters took their seats, Aria turned to the pile next to her and pulled out five folders. One file was slid towards Gale and Madison, bearing the insignia of the death division. Cassandra received a file with the Mist emblem on it, and Jerry received one that blazed with the Sun. "Since you guys are here early, feel free to start reading and making plans. Nothing you learn here is to leave this room, got it?"

File Contents

- The first couple of pages contain information about the location. Cassandra's file comes with a few pages containing detailed maps of the area.
- There are a few pages containing information on various creatures, from habits to weaknesses to other facts. Jerry's file contains more information on this subject, complete with diagrams depicting proven and theorized weak points.
- Several pages are devoted to a facility located in the area. The target, as it were.
- Gale and Madison's file contains information as to the sort of research that went on in that facility.

Cass looked at her phone for the time again. "....... So it is. I'm trying not to turn into the division unicorn, just....I don't even know.." she laughed at her own special moment with that, taking the file with the Mist Division's symbol on it and flipping it open curiously. Maps.

There were a lot of maps. And if this wasn't allowed to leave with her, she'd have to commit it to memory quickly. Cold, it would be smart to dress warmly, lots of open space..... her brows furrowed together, one hand going to the desk as her hand went through the motion of 'copying' the maps, even though she was holding nothing to draw with, nor did she have anything to copy them down onto.

It was something to help her remember....

There was a shuffle of noise as someone pulled out the chair beside him, and Gale's eyes flickered upwards, catching sight of Madison as she gave him a hesitant greeting.

"Evening," he said, and nodded, what might have been a faint smile of his own flickering across his face, but it was gone too quick to know for certain.

Yes, Maddie, he did remember when you were six and it amused him.

But then Aria was sliding a file across the table towards them, and Gale pulled it over, flipping it open and pushing it between himself and Maddie so that they could both look down into it.

"...the North...Pole," said Gale slowly, with a glance at the other Death Hunter. "...we're going to the North Pole?"

His eyes skimmed down the page, trying to take in all of the information. There was quite a bit on the research within the facility - whatever that facility was, exactly - and Gale idly twisted the ring on his finger, lips pressing together as he attempted to memorize the basic facts.

Familiar faces filled the room around him, but Jerry took the folder with a quiet, "Thank you, ma'am," Before ducking back down in his seat to take in every word of the file. It was funny... just a few months ago, he would have paled at the sight of what lay inside, but tonight the more details he took in, the more excited he got. The theorized weaknesses were given considerable attention.

No need to make eye contact with people or get them to try to ask how he was or if he had had a nice holiday. Just the mission. Concentrate.

An opportunity to lead? It was the being asked that was the weird part; in most of the situations where he'd been in charge so far, Jordan had either made a quick decision about what was needed or fallen into the role without much thought. Old habit weighed against new resolve; but what ended up tipping the scales was that he wanted to be useful, and passive waiting was frustrating.

He was surprised and pleased to see Madison in the room as he came in; this wasn't a time for catching up, though, so he only raised a hand and smiled to her before finding a seat for himself near Jerry. Act normal; Jerry didn't need to know that he knew anything. "What've we got?"

Madison smiled and waved back at Jordan when he entered the room, but... well. Duty called. She leaned in next to Gale and looked at the file. "The... oh, no. No, no, I'm really, really done with Christmas," she groaned, burying her face in her hands for a moment. Ugh why.

Then she sighed and lowered her hands, giving Gale a sheepish look. "Sorry. Just needed a sec to get over the flashbacks, I guess." She focused on the files again, her brow furrowing slightly. None of this stuff seemed like the so-called real world, but she'd long since accepted that wherever this fabled 'real world' was, she didn't remotely live in it.

It was a welcome surprise to see a text from Aria waiting for him as he got up from his daily Cass 'nap' (which really depended on how long they had been up the night before). Either way, waking up sans Cass, and Marcus looking at his text ans assuming if the mist division lead wanted to see him, Cass had probably already left. Rolling out of bed, dressing himself properly, and walking to the point. Had they slept all night? Eh, not that uncommon of a thing. On the way he texted Aria as requestion.

On my way Miss Aria.

Truthfully, he still wasn't sure he was 'fit' to lead, but hey, he was still the only intermediate moon trainee. As he arrived he yawned. Why was he still so tired? Ah well. "Hey guys." Cass got his smile. "Morning dove" He thought they had just slept the night away. Trying to hold back a yawn he sat down next to Jerry and Jordan, lacking anyone from his own division. "Hey Guys." It was a simple greeting but Marcus was looking at Aria, waiting for further instruction.

Robert was in a disgustingly good mood. When he walked in, he beelined directly for Madison, and left a wet, messy kiss right on her cheek. Then he sat down in the front of her and folded his hands as if he was obnoxiously trying to be the good kid in class for once.

Then he noticed everyone else had folders to read, and he didn't. He slumped his ramrod straight back, and went back to being a slacker until someone told him to do otherwise.

"Evening, Marcus." Cass greeted back, not even embarrassed by his slip up and what assumptions could come of it - she'd stopped caring long ago what the assumptions of other people were. She looked up from her maps for a moment, however, noting the sound of woe in Gale's voice.

"Yeah, North Pole.... that means it'll be cold, we'll need to make sure people bundle up a bit less we lose something to frostbite...." It was strange how in a year she'd become more focused on little things like that instead of how best to rebel against her parents.

She liked the change, it made her feel...mature?

Jerry flinched with a soft noise in his throat before glancing up from the paperwork, "Oh ah.. it's.. .um... s-standard fair I guess," He murmured quietly, clearing his throat to try to collect himself. Jordan. He couldn't let him know anything was awry. Just... try to act nonchalant. Nothing had happened. His brain didn't feel like it was about to burst. He reluctantly passed off his distraction so his friend could read, instead locking his eyes on the table and pick at his cheek scar nervously as his mind wandered again. He had already practically memorized the files, but it had been nice to have something to hide behind.
