Gaaghii was in a good mood today. Usually his dark and quiet personality kept him sitting in the shade somewhere or spending time with his family; but today it was he and Dionis; his semi annoying black and yellow crow. They were chasing each other over rocky over hang, with large boulders and chunks of stone to climb and dive over. He managed to dodge the incoming birds attack; whom cawed at him from above. "Take it like a male Gaaaaaaaghiiiiii" She called, landing up on a large rock and hopping around.
Gaaghii popped up around a different rock and simply stuck his tongue out at her. "Nah." He said, putting his front paws up on the rock and making faces at her; his blue eyes twinkling with his playfulness. It was very unusual for him to be like this.

He swung his paws at Dionis and laughed aloud; his deep hearty voice bellowing among the trees and rocks. He stood on his hind end and held his paws against his chest; thourally enjoying his play time with is companion. He flopped down and rolled onto his back and rolled in a silly manner. Dionis laughed at him; flapping above him and landing beside him; preening her wings.
"So do you like mag?" She asked, looking at Dionis with her beady green eyes. She fluffed up her feathers and seated herself, watching him intently.
"Erm... You mean... like friends?" He asked, rolling onto his side and looking at his yellow and black comrade. "Of course I do."
"No... not like friends Dionis... I mean more than that. More than just buddies but as perhaps... as mates?" Dionis said sternly, she should have known he wouldn't know what she meant. She fluffed her wings again and turned her head the other direction.
"Erm... I um... I sort of do... maybe." He replied really hesitantly.

Dionis sighed and rolled her head on her shoulders; adjusting her feet and looking at him for a moment. "You sort of maybe?" She asked, her tone very serious; which was like her. She was the backbone that Gaaghii didn't have. She sighed. "I think she may consider being mates... if you asked her... ya know? I know you probably never thought about that sort of thing.. but you are a lonely male and you know it... and I think Mag likes you."
Gaaghii looked a bit stunned. He didn't reply right away; but was very... well... he felt funny. "You think so Dionis? I mean... look at me... I can't hunt well at all; I am so quiet... she's so bubbly and friendly. What makes you think she'd... want to be with me forever?"
"She wouldn't come around you if she didn't like you Gaaghii... She on her own-comes and visits you... see's how you are... talks to you... thinks of you... everything like that. I think it's cause you should try it at least."

Gaaghii sat up and thought quietly to himself; his blue eyes shut as he pondered. That would explain everything. The visits. The hunts. The time they spent together. Why he felt like... she was his only friend in the world. Everything about her struck him in a special way. He opened his eyes and nodded. "You know. I do care about her a lot. I always thought it was because she was my friend... but... I really do like her... perhaps I have always liked her since I first met her... It all makes sense. I feel so dumb." He blew out a breath of air.
"I can't even believe I didn't realize this.

Of course you didnt'... you are so into your own mind and thinking about things... that you totally missed it... Look at her... she adores you to a point of coming to visit... who else does that? No one? You are a loner and everyone knows it; and yet she still comes to you and seeks your company... it isn't all in vain. She is waiting for you to ask... I assure it!" Dionis bounced up and down; her wings flapping furiously. "You need to ask her my dear! You must you MUST!" She cawed violently.
Gaaghii blinked and looked hesitant. "How do I ask her?" He asked.
"YOU JUST ASK? CAAAW. You say to her "My dear Mag.. I am in love with you. I wish to be your mate... to be with you for an eternity... to stay by your side at night when it's cold. To share a den. To bring children into the world and carry on your blood lines. To bring happiness to both of you... you dolt."

Gaaghii looked awkward and curled up into a ball; covering his face and moaning. "UUUUUUGH." He was way to shy for that... way way to shy. How could he just spring right up to her and ask that? Without even a moment of hesitation? A bit of shyness. He wasn't brave. He wasn't super strong. He wasn't even the most attractive.
Yet... word of his rescuing the baby giraffe had spread and many lions had told him he was very merciful and kind. Perhaps that was what she liked about him. Or maybe he was... attractive inside and out.... but he wasn't so sure.

Gaaghii nodded; knowing that time would tell him how to go about this and... if he even went through with it. He sighed, rolling onto his side-facing away from the crow and sighed heavily again. He was gonna think about it... and think about her... about how he liked her... and how she liked him... she did like him right?
Dionis bedded down; her feathers fluffing to keep her warm. She sighed, hoping that her large fluffy friend would be happy someday... and find true love. "Just think about it friend. If anything, she will just want to be friends and nothing will change... or you will fall in love with her an be happy.. you will be happy
