So, I just heard that the Sequel to the newer Star Trek is coming out May 17, 2013. I'm super excited! How about you guys?

Lately I think they're more promising than Star Wars sequels, but I'm waiting a bit more to see what they come up with.

Yeah, I think so too.
Although, I heard they are going to have Khan in it. Which kind of stinks, because I think Khan should have stayed in the second TOS movie. The only thing I think can work out with Khan is a flashback/reference. I was thinking of reviewing it for my school paper next year when it comes out.

I just saw the trailer. I don't know what to think except that I thought it was really intense to watch. I still want to see the movie when it comes out, though.

I have no heard that Khan was going to be involved, which would be a good way to put some distance between the reboot and the original series. I'd heard from an interview with George Takei that they asked about a cameo with William Shatner, but that was still up in the air.
George Takei also said that he was consulted about the casting choice for the actor playing Sulu on the reboot, which is really neat. I think a lot of us older fans were hesitant to really embrace the reboot because of what we felt might be done to the original series. However, when you have the actors from the original series coming forward and supporting the reboot, I feel a lot better about it.

I'm pretty excited, except, I have found that JJ Abrams does something and I really like it at first and then I suddenly get very, very bored. I'm finally getting into Fringe again. If he kills Star Trek for me, I'll be annoyed sad

And Spock because his and Kirk's hands were placed together on glass, like it was in The Wrath of Khan. I hope it doesn't happen, though. sad
