- A starter katana given to all graduates of the academy in the Kazekana clan. The starter katana itself gives no properties to the user but it will grow with the user and at every accomplishment, the steel is tempered again and reforged stronger. Once re-tempered, the Kazekana who holds a katana will take a journey to a wayshrine and pray to receive the blessing from their respective gods. The katana itself, after blessing is said to attain it's next form.

The book was once written by his great, great grandfather and it details the origins of the clan along with their kekei genkai, blade release. There is some indecipherable text on how to create powerful swords but the knowledge of that language was lost with Ryo Kazekana as he was killed while he was captured by enemy forces.
