Yu was bored. Bored, bored, bored. Well, mostly. His young half-siblings kept him occupied, that was certain, but he was bored for more adult interactions. Susu just didn't seem... The right idea of interaction, at least. The dark lion padded his way down to the shore, gold eyes scanning every rock and bit of cliff. Now and then, his nose twitched as he smelled the air, processing it all. It included the scent of another. His lip curled, before he let out a roar, calling out the other lion. It wasn't a scent he knew, and if they were going to stay, they'd fight for it.

Bousvor had been lingering around the edges of the pride for the past week or so. He had been tossing it around his mind about trying to join. There was only so much he could learn by ease dropping. During the past week he'd seen a number of challenges. Some succeeding and some not.
The male had thought he was far enough from the edge of the territory, so when a roar sounded out he was a bit surprised. Bousvor wasn't one to run, and now was as good a time to try his luck. He gave a deep roar. Here was his challenege. Let the other meet him. Bousvor charged down the beach.

When he saw the other lion, Yu squared his shoulders, ears folding back into his gold mane. He took a deep breath for a moment, before roaring back. And then he charged. He didn't initially attack, though, feinting to the side. He had no idea yet what his opponent's strengths and weaknesses were, and was sure it'd be a foolish move to attack without knowing. Of course, this could also be a foolish move, but he was willing to try anything. "A brave lion, you are, hanging around the Stormborn territory like you've been doing!" He hoped this was the lion, at least. Susu had mentioned a feline of some sort - No specifics on even the species - hanging around the area. For all he knew, the one she'd meant was a leopard or cheetah destined to be a Thrall.

"It has nothing to do with bravery, but everything with gathering intelligence." When the other lion didn't move in to attack, Bousvor did. He didn't like pansy footing around. With a surge of muscles the tan lion leaped at his opponent. Bousvor unsheathed his claws as he swiped at the others legs. He kept his eyes alert for the counter attack he knew was coming. His opponent could circle, attack high, attack low, or anything else he could come up with. Bousvor tried to calculate his opponent's strength and mass.

Yu let out a growl at the contact, taking a swipe himself. He felt his claws rake through hair, but little more. The black lion carefully moved around, keeping his eyes on the other. Every fall of a paw was carefully calculated, as Yu again started to figure out every flaw he could. Every movement, every stance, every breath... It had to all be taken into account if he wanted to have some semblance of winning. "Tell me, do you have iron or flowers in your blood..?" The question came out with a sneer. If this lion truly wanted in... He'd have to show it.

Bousvor was ready for that attack and managed to pull aside from it. Still he felt the razor sharp claws pass through his mane. That was close. Loosing an eye would put him at a serious disadvantage. With the first round over, he stalked his opponent. Not letting the other lion get behind him as he tried to get into a good position to launch his own attack.
"Why don't you try finding out." He hissed back. His claws reached out toward Yu's back leg, attempting to trip him.

Yu snarled, feeling the claws rake his leg. As the pain blossomed and the blood seeped out, he twisted away and tried to gain ground. The dark lion hopped on a rock, roaring from it. He wasn't trying to run - He was doing his best to intimidate. If he made himself look bigger, perhaps he'd unnerve his opponent. While he wasn't sure if it worked or not, he felt his confidence bloom like the pain in his leg. Yu jumped down, taking a swipe at Bousvor again, and again felt his claws pass through hair. No hit this time, either.

What was this lion doing?!
Bousvor backed up a step as his opponent mounted a rock and roared. This wasn't the fighting he expected. He jumped to the side to avoid another swipe. It was almost unfair that the other couldn't seem to touch him. He was tempted to let the other lion score once, but he couldn't control how much damage he might do. It was best not give away his advantage. Bousvor gave a giant leap toward Yu; trying to pin the other lion or knock him off his feet.

The dark lion jumped out of the way, lips curling in a snarl. This lion was quick... He'd obviously spent his youth building up dexterity, or so Yu figured. He himself had spent his youth making sure he wasn't going to get his food stolen or bullied away. He was by no means an aggressive lion without undue cause, but he wasn't about to be bullied. As Bousvor passed by, Yu reached his paw out, feeling his claws scrape this time. It felt good to finally land a blow, even if it was a relatively light blow to the side.

His leap, while it didn't work for him, put him right in range for an attack by the other lion. This is what his sympathy got him! Bousvor roared as he felt the claws rake his side. His hindquarters spun around. The wound didn't feel deep, but he could still feel trickles of blood down his side. It was time to end this before anymore happened. As close as he was, Bousvor didn't have much time to gather speed when he tried to ram Yu.

The dark lion let out a grunt, ears vanishing for a moment into his golden mane. Yup, the ram had landed. He let out a low snarl, then pushed back, not really doing much damage, if any, at all. He figured he wouldn't even leave a bruise. While Yu raised a paw to swat at Bousvor, his claws only raked the mane. Truly, he'd lost this duel, and he conceded defeat, stepping back. He let out a huff. "You've won your place!" He raised his head. "Congratulations, for iron runs through your veins as surely as it runs through mine!"

Bousvor got pushed back a step, but otherwise was un-phased. He had plenty of time and good footing to easily dodge the swiped attack. His green eyes took in Yu as the other stepped back and gave him the win. He nodded. What was he suppose to say now? 'Thank you' just didn't seem like something he should say.
"It is an honor to be accepted." Bousvor bowed his head, then turned toward his new home.
