Here are my input and ideas: ~Guild name?? ~Banner: go to Bannersnack, I'm not any good at banners, but this is the site I would use ~Rules 1. Follow the ToS! 2. Be nice! Criticism is usually requested by writers, but rude comments are not acceptable. 3. When writing a story, try to use correct grammar and punctuation. Everybody makes mistakes, but if ur storie luks liek thiss, then there might be a problem. 4. Keep your material PG 13 5. If you join, I expect you to post, whether that be a piece of your own making or just critiques for others. 6. Make sure you check the rules of the separate subforums! ~Main page: ??? ~List of subtopics: Short stories, novels, poetry, contests ~List of topics in the main forum: Introductions, contest ideas, and a question asking thread

Guild Name: Uh... something witty and classy. I'm not very good on names and junk. Banner: I just looked at the site and it looks really good. I think we each (whoever is in the guild) should make a banner and we can see which one we like best. The ones we don't use as the guild banner we can use as advertisement. Rules: Don't forget to say that rules are subject to change at any given time as seen fit by the Captain. Main Page: We can just explain what the guild is about. For example, we could say we're a guild dedicated to the art of writing. Here you can share stories, ask for critques, or just chat about your favorite literature. And you can go on to state our rules and how you can join and so on. :3 Subtopics: Short Stories, Novels, FanFiction, Poetry, Contests, Recycle Bin. Inside each of the topics you should have an announcement post giving a short explaination about what falls into that category. Main Forum: Introduction (This would be saying hello to the memebers and showing them around the guild.), Rules, Help and Assistance, Suggestion Box. Forgotten Info: Still thinking on what I've forgotten... yum_puddi

~Guild name - There's no way I can think up of an awesome name. My suggestions would be crap. XD
~Banner - ...There's no way I can do this either.
~Rules Rules should be easy. Just the normal. Add anything when you see fit, but you should do one of those tricky little things that requires the joinee to add a smiley face or PM something to the captain sometimes to make sure they read the rules. You should probably also put a rule that you can only bump your story once in a day, and that's only when the story has been completed, or something along those lines. Oh, and make sure that in their first post they put all the genres their story is and whether or not it is completed. That way people will not have such a hard time finding the exact things they want.
~Main page Well, basically what Azula wrote here.
~List of subtopics Action & Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Steampunk (Because I've found that a lot of people love this sub-genre, so it'd be a good idea to make it it's own sub-forum) Horror, Mystery, Science fiction, Thrillers & Suspense, Romance, Fanfiction, Short Story Collections, Poems, Non-Fiction. You can add more sub-genres if people ask for them. Now, those are just for the stories. There can be other sub-forums for finding people to edit your stories, finding people to do a joint story with, Scraps, Critiques, Story Art, a section for people to improve their writing with help from others, a page for sharing with each other good writing websites, Book Discussion and Recommendations, Chatting, and a role playing sub forum (If you put a role playing sub forum, it will attract more people, as they'd think a writing guild would attract more literate players). Wow, that was long. ~List of topics in the main forum Introductions, Rules, Questions, Suggestions, Sub forum Requests, Report Someone.
I believe that'd be about it. I'll check over it later to see if I forgot something. Hope this helps~ Sorry if my grammar is off in all of this. I usually pride myself in my grammar, but when it comes to things like these I go completely off the handle.

Subforums Action/Adventure Comedy/Satire Fantasy/Sci-Fi Historical Horror/Thriller Mystery Romance Poetry Non-Fiction Roleplaying Story Request Brainstorming Crew That's exactly how many subforums we currently have. The difference between Sci-Fi and Fantasy is in the eye of the beholder. Horror and Thriller aren't usually connected, but I didn't feel the need to buy an entire subforum for it. Story Request would be for people to request certain stories such as a harry potter with so-and-so characters, or to post an idea you had that you never quite got to finish. Brainstorming could be for people who want to write collaboratively, or for someone that needs ideas for a story. The main forum could be used for OOC, and the important topics can be stickied so we have somewhere to talk when we want to. Concerning the Banner, I could probably make one once we've chosen a name. Which, by the way, we need to start brainstorming on. The Main Page, however, I think should have a different set of rules than would be posted under the main forum. Ones that only concern people who are considering joining, not necessarily people who are considering posting (tackle one, then the other). I think we should have a sticky in the main forum for members to submit a 'story of the week' that we can post an excerpt of on the main page, followed by a sort of introduction; "Our members read and write stories just like this one every day. Writers and critics alike find our guild a safe haven to improve their literacy, writing skill, and even creativity." Or something along those lines. Concerning subforum rules, I think we should enforce a sort of topic title ruleset so that our members know what they're getting into before clicking on a topic. For example, we could require [CH] in topics who are writing chapters instead of a short story, [C] for people who are writing collections of stories instead of just one story, and other tags such as [C&C] for those wanting comments and criticism.

I'm willing to make the banner. I have a photoshop program. I made banners before. I'm not great at it tho, but I'll do my best. (The one in my signature, I made myself, just like this, this, this and this) But I need a name first. surprised And I agree with everything that is said in here. And just to blur out a few names (Beware of witty names). - Ghost Writers - Write On! - The Average Write Band - Basic. Human. Writes. - Write, Write Baby - Write Said, Fred - Never Ending Stories - Future Famous Authors - Future Famous Writers - Fab Writing / Fab Writers - Reaching the Stars on Paper - The Penmen - The Moving Word - Writer's Craft - The Sequel - The Wordsmiths

Alright! Now, we need a name, banner, and main page! I like your name ideas, but to narrow them down, I was thinking that we could make them into an acronym or initialism, like TMW could stand for Too Many Writers, something like that?
