I have been saving many purkle addresses for (since the first McNeo exchange!) quite sometime. Well, this morning the computer I have been *meaning to* reformat finally decided to forget how to start and is asking for a boot disk.
Needless to say, that is the same computer almost all addresses were saved on.
My reason for posting is:
As some of you already know from experience, I enjoy periodically sending little surprises through the mail, and as I have mentioned to some of you already, I was preparing one of my "Random Acts of Purkleness" except that now I have some bags of handselected goodies to send out, and only a few addresses left......
SOOOOOOOOOOO.... if everypurkle who knows or thinks they may have given me their address in the past would be so kind as to do it ONE MORE TIME.... I am planning on saving them in a secure file AND hard copy so that they won't be lost to me again.
My yahoo ID is simlizzy01 for anyone who can possibly IM their address to me and I would appreciate being able to (once again) collect as many addresses as possible, so if at anytime you think I *MAY* have had your address for whatever reason, and for those of you not sure, or who just would not mind sending me one for future reference please IM (or mail to my yahoo box) so that I may continue with my next and future surprises...

Awwww, Lizzy!! Computers can be absolutely horrid sometimes, even more so with the extent upon them we rely these days! Sorry to hear you've lost some addresses, although hopefully you didn't lose any (other) important data! Good luck!!

Actually I did lose my only set of pictures of my grand daughter but I am trying not to think about it rolleyes

I had been really good about downloading to an External Hard Drive and am going to look at it later. Currently I am left with only the computer I reserved for my son's home schooling as the only available one, and my daughter had already been computerless for a couple months, SOOOOOOOO
I have heard there are ways to retrieve some of the data, I think I will be down at Fry's later asking lots of questions as a matter of fact. Seems that place (at least) has software claiming to be able to do pretty much anything rofl

Animal Lass biggrin Is that how viruses work? Actually in my case it was a matter of using all the same installation and setting for a LOT of years now (you would be surprised) and KNOWING I needed to reformat and putting it off for too long eek

All of this has me actively looking at externals on eBay. I'm thinking about going with an 80, that way I can keep ALL my music on there as well as a backups of the important things like my website (already on my jumpdrive), address books, My Documents, photos, etc.
Does tha sould like a reasonable size for that? Any advice?
