Earth. The mythic age. 1345 B.C.

The winter winds blew slow and heavily across the frosty face of mount Athron.

The soldiers in the fort near the base of the mountain pulled their fur cloaks tightly around themselves as they kept the night watch. A tall elf walked up the ramp to the wall where he stood next to his human captain. He shivered and looked out into the snow.

"Man I hate this post. It's colder than an ice dragon's belly, the food is tough as rocks, and I swear to you, I heard it again."

"It, Elsiger? What exactly is "It"?"

"Growling, barking, howling, all kindsa' noise. Way off towards the peak. Something is out there."

"It's nothing. You just heard a pack of dogs fighting or something. Go get some rest, warm yourself with some mead."

Elsiger turned and walked off. His captain stood looking into the wind, but he looked a little more intensely now.

Just off, in the trees, a shadow shifted. The shape moved silently, despite the fresh snow. it darted between the trees, agile and stealthy. It moved off to her right, keeping just inside the tree-line.

Suddenly, shouts and yells began to ring out over the snowy hills. The fort was in chaos. The troops were scrambling to grab their weapons and the archers clambered to their positions. Voices rang out amid the commotion.

"Did you see anything!?"

"Where did he go!?"

"I got that gate covered!!"

"He's escaped the walls! Into the woods! Fan out! Search parties should have at least one battle-mage! Do not let him escape!!!"

The soldiers began to spread out into teams and sweep the mountain. They carefully formed a net and began to search the woods, hills and all around the fort while the eleven archers kept watch with their keen eyes from atop the towers

The soldiers were closing in rapidly. They moved in tight formation. One noticed movement and pointed.

"There!!"

They flanked and cornered their target. They surrounded him, giving him nowhere to run. He stayed in the shadows as best he could, but his room was dwindling fast.

"We have you now you vagabond!"

The soldiers began to panic.

"What's going on!?"

"I can't see anything!"

Suddenly the air was filled with the sounds of fear and death. The soldiers shouted and screamed as the figure charged into them, snapping bones and breaking necks. Soon, the air was silent again, and the snow slowly began to turn red as the man walked out of the fog.

He was a huge man. Almost seven feet tall, and heavy with thick muscle. His hair was as white as the snow it's self, and shone with a bluish tint where the light hit it. He was rugged and handsome, his skin evenly tanned and his icy blue eyes were sharp as daggers. He wore only a pair of rough leather pants with a belt. he was bare foot, and his naked upper body was criss-crossed with scars and decorated with faded tattoos

He didn't flinch as the ice needle's pierced his skin. Blood flowed from where the spikes hit him and as they stopped falling, blood dripped down his arms and off his fingers.

Then suddenly the wounds began to close. His blood ran in reverse and was pulled back into his body as the wounds were healed almost instantly. His eyes narrowed angrily and he growled low in his throat.

He clenched his fists and looked up into the sky. The moon peeked out form behind the clouds, full and shining bright. He looked down at the woman with her foxes and snarled.

"Run.....now...."

He doubled over and clutched his chest. His body began to swell and white fur began to cover him. His pants ripped and stretched as he grew. He roared and writhed as his body bulged and twisted. Claws sprouted from his fingers, his face lengthened and his teeth became long jagged fangs.

Soon, before her stood a huge wolf, his bottom half animal like, with a tail and everything, and his upper half like a human with long powerful arms and clawed hands. He looked down at her with his snarling wolf head. he took a long breath and let out a deep howl.

The huge wolf roared and tried to swipe the woman with his claws. He did not understand her words and even though her voice was as sweet and soothing as a gentle breeze, he was lost to the beast under the full moon. His mind was overcome with rage and he attacked, his killer instincts taking over.
