Prefects are students who have more authority than the rest of the students at Rosentale. They're comparable to hall monitors or student council members, but share responsibilities for keeping order, or guiding classes without teachers. While prefects can dole out consequences (such as sending a student to a staff member for detention), their main responsibility in the RP will be to take over classes that are missing their professors. While they won't function as a real substitute and teach lessons, they can take charge of the class and guide a group activity of some kind to give RPers something to do instead of sitting and chatting during class.
Prefects are appointed by the crew. Please don't ask to become a prefect. If we feel you and your character meet the requirements and if we need a new prefect, you will be asked if you'd like the responsibility. And being a prefect is a responsibility--not just for your character, but you as well.
We'll keep the number of prefects some what proportionate to the student body and number of missing staff. So we aren't going to keep appointing prefects if we don't need them. To start, we'll have six (three boys and three girls). If we need more, we will appoint more so there may not always be an equal number of boys and girls. That's just how we're going to start out.
