Alex had been feeling..well, quite weird since returning to school from the weekend away at his parents house. The zomboil, who had just finally come to terms with the feelings he was having for somebody close to him, was now unable to think of anything else, his mind always on that special someone. He had been daydreaming his way through classes, barely hearing a word the professors had said, and doodling little hearts all over his homework.

It was off putting, to say the least.

Now that he had nothing to do, he found himself wandering all over campus, still daydreaming away and wondering if he should maybe make a swing by the monster dorms...

Something caught his ears as he wandered around aimlessly, however. A sweet, slow song that seemed to caress his now gentle loving soul. He was drawn to it, and his feet turned mid-stride as he began to hunt down the source of the music.

It wasn't long before he'd come upon a purple haired boil wielding a deadly looking guitar, and he recognized the Reaper right away, but hung back a little, unsure if he should approach further. This boil was always seeming to be in a fight or argument with somebody else whenever Alex saw him, after all, and he really didn't want to be on the receiving end of that guitar.

He noticed there were two fluffy critters at play not far off, but when they smelt the zomboil approaching they quickly scampered away.

He was pretty much used to that reaction by now.

Alex had probably just been standing there, listening to the music with a big dopey grin on his face as he thought about the person whom he was having very strong feelings for at the moment. But then the music stopped, and his head cleared a little, the grin fading as he blinked his eyes a few times.

And now Roch was staring at him, which made the zombie feel slightly uneasy, but he took a step forwards anyways and lifted a hand in greeting. "Hey." He replied. He frowned a little at the question posed towards him. "The room with the...hunters? You mean the one with all the gold coins and that big purple singing thing?" He shuddered at the memory, and not just because he had been a ghoul at the time, so full of emotions and feelings and the need to hug everyone in sight...

Really, actually, not that much different then he was feeling now, though there was most definitely only one person he wanted to hug... though Roch's guitar playing was fantastically dreamy and----

Wait..what was he even thinking? He didn't even really know this boil! Slowly and somewhat hesitantly he made his way forward and collapsed next to the Reaper. "Roch, right?" He asked, though he already knew. "I'm Alexander. Was in the school play."

Alex glanced to where Roch had gestured, remembering the little creatures that had been playing over there. "Oh! Uh..sorry but I think I might have scared them off...though they might come back, maybe, if they don't think I'm going to try and eat them." He shrugged, though he somewhat doubted they were going to return any time soon. Roch had set out to catch himself some pets and he'd caught himself a zombie instead.

He was shifting around nervously, reaching up to push back his mop of hair out of his eyes. "Avoiding ghouls?" He gave Roch a questioning look. Maybe he could take a few lessons from Yin if he was looking to stay away from members of the opposite sex. Yin seemed to be pretty good at it.

Thinking about the weremantis brought a fluttering sensation to Alex's stomach that he quickly squashed.

"I..I don't think so." He answered, quite confused by the question. Why would he suddenly be having these problems? He didn't even have a heart beat to begin with! But he had been thinking about someone a lot more recently then he used to, and in a much more serious way then before. "Well, no, I guess that's not true." He frowned, "There is somebody that I can normally view as just a friend that today I have been thinking about as..something more? I hadn't really thought much of it, to be honest."

If only he hadn't been thinking so much of it. If only. Time to try and change the subject!

"You're friends with that Danny ghoul, right?" He remembered her sitting between Yin and Roch at the assembly not that long ago.

Alex was a bit slow on everything that couldn't be learned through reading a book or taught in a class.

Ah, so Danny and Roch were best friends! That was nice. He wondered if that meant Roch was close with that Rikki guy too that Danny had been dating. Well, probably, right? It seemed like a reasonable assumption, anyways. "I was just thinking about joining a couple of clubs! Though I'm not really all that music savvy...are there any other clubs you could recommend, perhaps?"

As the conversation moved on Alex chuckled a little. "No, I wouldn't really call us friends, really. She helped us out a bit during the whole Christmas Invasion fiasco, by carrying my best friend to the infirmary after we'd been attacked in the snow. She...actually scares me a little bit." He admitted, ashamedly. "Well, not so much her but..uh..the whole fire thing. But I think she's fairly good friends a couple of my friends...do you know Yin or Michi?" Yin had been the best friend he was talking about Danny carrying to the infirmary, but he didn't want to seem too redundant by stating so.

Alex indeed had no idea what Roch had done to Yin. He knew about Yin's broken nose, among other injuries, but had refused to give Alex and information on who had inflicted the injuries on him, not wanting Alex to get involved.

Probably for the best, that.

"Yes! He's actually my best friend." He said, rather proudly, his eyes lighting up as he talked about the other boil. But why did Roch want to know about him? Maybe it was just because Danny was friends with him and Roch wanted to make sure Yin was safe?

"He's a great guy! Though uh...a little set in his ways. You can't hold that against him, though. He's been kept pretty well cut off from the rest of the world until he left his clan. He didn't even know who Jack Skellington was until recently!" Ok, that probably wasn't something he should have told an almost complete stranger. He wasn't trying to make fun of Yin or anything, more trying to make a point that the weremantis was really clueless when it came to things outside of his culture. "If you're worried about him being around Danny, you really shouldn't be. He wouldn't do anything to hurt a ghoul, ever."

What else could he say about Yin as a friend? "He's loyal, quick to take the blame for things even when they aren't his fault, and a bit quirky. He's really just quite adoarable."

Wait...what did he just say? Was there any way he could back track and cover that part up??

"......Tell me more about how you are feeling differently about your friends? I'm definitely thinking I may have the same problem"

Smooth, Alex.

Alex had to agree with the Reaper there. Emotions did suck, and Alex quite often wondered how much better off he might be if things were different, if he didn't have all these silly...feelings. So he nodded along with the Reaper sadly. "I hear ya."

He then stopped, cocking his head to the side as the Reaper boil flopped onto his back. Lose her? He meant Danny, right? Alex could relate to that as well. He didn't want to lose his own best friend by confessing things, so he had decided to just keep it to himself all this time. He thought he should double check anyways.

"Her as in...Danny?" he asked, looking down at Roch curiously.

Ok, now Alex was just confused. They had been talking about Danny, and then...feelings that shouldn't be there, and then Roch had said something about 'losing her'. Who else was Alex going to think the other boil was talking about? He tried not to let his bewilderment show, however, and just continued to listen.

Ahhh, so it was somebody else Roch was afraid of losing. Totally caught up now!

"S-slapped?" Alex stammered. This was certainly an odd choice of topic change to stumble upon. It was a weird question, but since it was being asked he supposed he should give it some thought before answering.

"Uhh, well...I guess it would probably make me a little mad but..also I would want to know what my friend had done that made the other slap them to begin with." This was just making Alex think about seeing Yin with his face all beat up now, but Yin had refused to tell him who had done it, and Alex hadn't pressed the issue. It was the weremantis's business, and he wanted Alex to just stay out of it, and he respected that.
